The Morning After

"Oh.... my head...." Sarah slowly blinked open her eyes. Everything was a blur, and she felt as though she'd been hit in the head with a ton of bricks. She glanced down, finding herself in a very peculiar place indeed. 'What the... I don't have red silk sheets...' she thought. Just then she noticed that there was an arm draped across her bare waist. 'Oh. My. God...' She looked up at her bedmate's still sleeping face. "AAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!"
He opened his eyes, frowning at the screaming girl. "What in the bloody hell?"
"You - you! AAHHH!!!"
"Will you stop with all the screaming?! What the hell is wrong with you?!"
"You - I - we're -" she looked down, horrified to see that the both of them were stark naked, and that she had a clear view of his... 'Oh God...'
"What?" he said, one pointed eyebrow cocked.
She replied by desperately attempting to cover herself with a loose sheet.
He smirked, "Oh, as if you're so modest. Like I've never seen any of that before."
She glared at him, trying to free herself from his embrace. "Sit down, Sarah."
"Let go of me! Don't you dare touch me!"
"But darling..." he drawled, putting on a look of mock-hurt. "That's not what you said last night..."
She sat bolt-upright, a look of pure horror on her face. "YOU!" she pointed an accusatory finger at him. "You took advantage of me!"
"I thought you might say that."
She tried to get up again, but he held her firmly in his grasp.
"You creep! You did it to me while I was drunk!"
He shook his head, annoyed with her vague use of terminology. "I beg your pardon?"
"You did... stuff," she said.
"If you mean to say that I had sexual intercourse with you, then you are wrong."
"We... didn't?"
"No," he replied. "But you did give good head."
"OH MY GOD!!! You motherfucker!! You DID take advantage of me!!"
He looked genuinely offended. "I most certainly did not! For your information, you came onto me. And don't think I was alone in having a grand time last night - you weren't the only one with a (he smirked at his own pun) loose tongue." He licked his lips.
Her face reddened, and her lip began to tremble. She was beyond shock or anger - now she was just plain humiliated.
"Sarah?"
Tears welled up in her eyes, and she began to make little whimpering noises.
"Sarah, please don't - "
It was no use; she covered her face and started sobbing. He mentally kicked himself; he certainly hadn't planned on making the girl cry.
"Sarah, I -" he gave up, and just pulled her into his arms. "Come here..." She wrapped her arms around his neck and cried into his chest. "Shhh... It's okay, love..." He ran his fingers soothingly over her back.
"N-no it's n-not!" she sobbed. "All m-my f-fault!"
"Oh, hardly," he said, patting her back. "I think it's a bit of both our faults, dear."
"No! I sh-shouldn't have g-gotten d-drunk!"
"Probably not," he sighed and lifted her chin, "But what's said is said, and what's done is done. There's no use in crying over what we can't take back, is there?"
"N-no..." her lower lip was still quivering.
He smiled and kissed her forehead, "No there isn't."
She rested her head in the crook of his neck for several minutes before speaking again. "Jareth..."
"Yes?"
"How did I... get here?"
"You wished yourself away."
"Oh... And I... came onto you?"
"Yes."
She frowned, "You weren't drunk, were you?"
"No."
"Then why didn't you stop -"
"You had a hold of my crotch."
She shut her mouth fast. After several silent seconds she began again.
"So... what now?"
"What do you mean, my dear?"
"Well, now that I'm here, do I just...erm, run the labyrinth or something?"
He chuckled, "No, love, you don't. You wished yourself away, so you can go back to the Aboveground if you wish."
"What if I don't want to go back?"
He smiled fondly, "You may stay here if you like."
She smiled back, "Why are you being so nice this time around?"
He leaned in close to her ear and whispered, "I'm not," making her giggle. "Now, don't you think it's my turn to ask questions?"
"Of course."
"Why did you wish yourself away?"
She shrugged, "I'm not entirely sure. I was drunk."
"A fair answer," he nodded acknowledgingly, "Why were you drunk in your own room, all by yourself?"
Her smile faded. "I wanted to escape it all."
"Now, that's not a good enough answer," he said. "Come Sarah, I've answered all your questions in complete honesty."
She sighed. "All right. You'll just think I'm pathetic, but here goes... First off, I hate school. I hate my classes, and I have no friends. Everyone thinks I'm weird. Then there's my stepmother, who obviously thinks I'm a pain just to have around. She and my father fight all the time, and they talk about divorce and who'll take my brother if they do... One day, I was at school, and I was thinking about all this stuff. And, I dunno, I guess it just finally got to me and I... freaked out. It was so weird - the whole world was ten times bigger. Voices were louder, movements were larger, everything was spinning. Finally I just crouched down in the floor and covered up my head. Everyone thought I was crazy... Maybe I am... Anyway, my stepmom came and took me to the doctor, complaining the whole way, asking why couldn't I just be normal. The doctor gave me some anti-depressants, but they didn't help. So, one night I just decided to hell with everyone. I snuck some alcohol up to my room and got wasted. There. Pathetic, isn't it?"
"I don't think you're pathetic, Sarah," he said.
"You don't?"
He smiled, "No. I think you're a gifted, unique girl who just doesn't fit in with the world you were born into."
Her face lit up, her eyes brightening with genuine love, "Really?"
"Really," he said sincerely.
She looked up at him seriously, "Jareth...I...I...*sigh*...aw hell - "
She grabbed his face with both hands, and kissed his unexpecting, but appreciative, lips. He licked playfully over her bottom lip, deepening the kiss. Their tongues met, and he snaked an arm around her slender waist, pulling her closer to himself. Her hands found their way into his crazily tossed hair, drawing him in for another kiss, this one long and slow and tender. He rolled them over, watching as her long, dark hair splayed itself over his sheets. She felt something hard press against her thigh, and gasped in realization of the position she was in.
"Sarah..." he said huskily.
"Jareth..." she answered, leaning in to whisper in his ear, "Make love to me..."

haha - I'm such a horrible tease! but in chapter 3, I promise they are gonna get it on!
p.s. The situation that Sarah described in which the world seems ten times bigger than it is - that's called a panic attack. And it is seriously no fun at all. Depression itself is a horrid thing to have to battle, but I promise there is help for it. Sorry, just my little message of hope to those who might be experiencing it :)
