Stolen Chance
Author’s note: Thanks very much for all the reviews I received. I’m very glad to have some positive feedback. I’m pleased you all liked it. :D
I have changed my ideas about this fic. Rather than just being a random episode of sex, I’m going to attempt to make a full-length story out of it. But I promise there will be sex later, if people want it. Anyway, here we go:
The kissing grew more intense. Aayla let her hands roam over the Jedi, caressing him and running it through his hair. Obi-Wan held onto her butt tightly and pushed her harder against him, encouraging her to lean against him. They kissed passionately.
Suddenly, she stopped. Obi-Wan looked up, surprised. He gazed into her face, and watched a slow, impish smile crept across her features. It was a maddening expression, and Obi-Wan could feel himself becoming more and more consumed with desire. There was an intense burning within him he had not felt for a long time. In fact, it had never been this intense.
There was a knock on the door. Aayla and Obi-Wan looked at each other for a moment, horrified. Then in silent agreement they practically leapt out of each other’s arms. Obi-Wan reached for his belt and hastily strapped it back on. Aayla straightened her rumpled clothes.
Obi-Wan waited until he was presentable and then called, “It’s unlocked”.
The door slid open and the dark, imposing figure of Mace Windu entered. He surveyed the room coolly, looking only slightly taken aback to see Aayla Secura in Obi-Wan Kenobi’s quarters.
“Master Kenobi”, he said smoothly, “Your presence is requested in the Jedi High Council in one hour. You too, Aayla Secura”.
Obi-Wan felt the cold touch of panic. Did the Council know…surely not? What was going on?
“Are you alright, Master Kenobi?” Windu asked, “You seem breathless”.
“Yes…Master. I have been training long hours. Forgive me. For what purpose are we requested at the Council?”
“That will be revealed in due time”, the Jedi Master was already turning to leave. He strode out of the doorway. To Obi-Wan’s surprise, Aayla followed him. She disappeared out of the doorway without a word.
Obi-Wan stared blankly after her for a few minutes. He still felt hot and flushed. He began to wonder whether or not it had been a mere hallucination, brought on by his lustful thoughts. Eventually, he looked down and checked his tunic. It was still rumpled, and his hair was too. It had been real.
He sank back on the bed and gave a groan of frustration and confusion.

An hour passed before he found himself walking into the Council room. Seated around him were the twelve most revered Jedi Masters in the Order. The wise Yoda, the dignified Mace Windu, the imposing Plo Koon, the slim Adi Gallia. All watched his entrance steadily as he walked into the centre of the room.
Standing there were also several other Jedi Knights. Aayla Secura was one of them, but she only glanced at him upon his entrance. The others were Reaz Thrush, a female Iktochi, Whison Puroth a Rodian male and his Padawan, Salus Cross, a male Gran.
The Jedi Council surveyed the Knights before them for a moment, and then Ki-Adi-Mundi spoke.
“You have been summoned here for an assignment. We have received disturbing reports regarding Banking Clan movement in the Lumigrounds system”.
Mace Windu nodded and leaned forward, “We suspect they are gathering resources to amass a droid army. It is unclear why. That is what we want you to find out, Master Jedi”.
The Jedi Master next to him, the Kel Dor named Plo Koon, spoke in a deep, strong voice that was somewhat distorted by his breath mask, “I will be leading you on this mission. We leave in two hours. Master Kenobi, your Padawan will remain here. This quest may be perilous. I have arranged for Saesee Tiin to tutor him during our absence”, he gestured with one broad arm towards the male Iktochi, who merely nodded in acknowledgment.
Plo Koon continued, “Head for the Temple Hangar. We are boarding the vessel Radiant XI”.
He looked at Mace Windu and Yoda, as If to ask if there was any more business. Windu shook his head.
“Dismissed, you are”, Yoda said slowly.
The Jedi bowed and left the room. Whison, Reaz, Salus and Aayla began discussing and speculating the details of their mission as they headed towards the living quarters to assemble what gear would be needed. Obi-Wan walked a few paces behind, watching Aayla Secura sadly.
I must have been dreaming, he thought sadly. She’s too beautiful for any living thing. Let alone me.
After traversing the Temple corridors alone, he came back to his living quarters. He felt slightly relieved to be out of Aayla’s presence. It felt like she was driving him mad, and for a Jedi to dwell on such feelings was forbidden.
He sat down on his bed and startled assembling his standard mission gear. Spare power packs for his lightsaber, food capsules, aqua breather, whipcord…
The door opened and Anakin walked in. The boy’s blonde hair was cut short in the traditional Padawan style, and his face was pleasant and smiling.
“Master Obi-Wan, Plo Koon told me at the end of the lecture Saesee Tiin will be tutoring me because you’re going away”.
Obi-Wan nodded, “That’s right, Ani. It’s a very important mission. I leave in two hours”.
Anakin blinked, “Two hours? It must be important. I’m going to miss you, Master”.
Despite himself, Obi-Wan smiled warmly at his apprentice, “I will keep in contact, Padawan. Now come. We still have time for another lightsaber lesson”.
He unclipped the saber from his belt and handed Anakin his own, training junior saber. They headed for the training halls, Anakin suppressing barely concealed excitement at the thought of another mock duel with his Master.

Obi-Wan and Anakin strode into the Temple Hangar, where various Jedi were boarding transports or one-man speeders. Dominating the hangar was the Radiant XI. It was a large, red bulbous ship with plentiful living room and large engines for fast flight. A diplomatic ship, the same model as the one Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon had taken to negotiate with the Viceroy of the Federation a year ago at the blockade of Naboo.
I hope this ship fares better, Obi-Wan mused, remembering the fate of the Radiant VII aboard the Federation cruiser.
The other Jedi were waiting for him patiently at the entrance to the vessel. As Kenobi watched, Plo Koon emerged from the ship and nodded at him. Obi-Wan was glad that Koon was leading the mission. Qui-Gon and Plo Koon had been good friends, and as such Obi-Wan had known him well. Also, the Kel Dor Jedi Master was at least as formidable in battle as Mace Windu, and so if there was any need to resort to combat, they were being lead by the right Jedi.
Obi-Wan turned to his Padawan and hugged him briefly, then walked towards the diplomatic cruiser, trying not to glance at Aayla Secura who stood to one side with her one hand on her hip.
Plo Koon raised his arms and said, “Come Jedi. It is time to leave. Good luck, and may the Force be with us”.
