Its Better This Way

“Mmmm...wha..?” Nicki moaned as she opened her piercing blue eyes. Some one was shaking her lightly. “Sorry, luv. Didn't mean to wake ya. But now tha' yer awake, hows about tellin me why yer on me ship?”

“I fell asleep?...AND WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU DIDN'T MEAN TO WAKE ME!! YOU WERE SHAKING ME, IDIOT!!!”

“Shush now, lass. Ye'll wake tha dead.” He moved to sit down next to her on the bed but she moved away slowly and glared at him. “Look buddy, I'll play along for now but only cuz i have no clue where i am, or even how I'm here.”


He smiled and brushed some of his hair out of his face as he looked her over again

“At least tell me about yerself? Do ye have a name?” He smiled again, showing a few gold teeth. “Ugh... I might as well tell you.” She mumbled.

“My name is Nicki R-” She stopped talked and closed her mouth. 'I shouldn't tell him my name! I just broke out of jail for fucks sake.' She thought.

“Nicki what, luv?” He asked with raised eyebrows. “Just Nicki. Look, I'm sorry I'm here on your ship and all but its not like i intended on it... and i can pull my weight,....just don't make me walk the plank.” She laughed.

“Aye, now why would i be throwin a pretty lil thing like yerself out for the sharks?” He grinned, flashing his gold teeth again.

“Jus' answer me one thing?” He asked and she shrugged. “Shoot.” He smiled and twirled a piece of her hair between his fingers.

“Are ye some kind of nymph? You just appear on me ship, with no recollection as ta how ye got here and....well just look at yerself!” She looked at him like he was crazy before getting up off the bed and walking over to the mirror she saw earlier.

She looked at herself in the mirror and sighed. The under layer of her hair was bright neon blue and the top layer was black but she had two purple streaks in the front. She shook her head and turned back to him.

“So? This is how i always look...whats wrong with it?!” She snapped and he laughed. “Nothing, luv. Yer just so different then all the other women I've seen. But, whats is the little bead under yer lip?” He asked getting up from his spot on the bed.

“Huh? Oh! Its called a Labret piercing.” She laughed and Jack raised his eyebrows. “Yer crazy, luv. T'is a crime for a women so beautiful to be piercin her flesh.”


“You say that like i care what you think. I'm proud of my piercings and if you don't like them you can go suck an elf.” She mumbled and sat back down on the bed.

“Yer a strange one, I'll give ya that. Nicki was it?” He asked and she nodded, looking up at the roof and not at him.

“And your Jack... But i don't like that name very much. To common.... So Imma call you....” She trailed off thinking about a nick name for him.

“Cap'n Sparrow?” He asked, hopefully. “Ha! No.” She laughed. Her eyes trailed over his form and suddenly she blurted out, “Beads-Mick-Dread.”

Jack laughed and she smiled at her own stupid nick name. “What? I like your hair...sheesh.” She crossed her arms over her chest and pouted slightly, making him laugh harder.

“Well I like yer hair too, luv. Hows about we g-” He was cut off but a loud “BOOM” and people yelling from upstairs. He turned towards the door then back towards Nicki.

“Stay here.” With that he bolted, leaving her alone and confused. She got up and slowly walked to the door. She opened it a crack and looked thought it.

Her eyes went wide and she felt her knees start to shake. There were people killing each other up there! They were all fighting with swords or their fists. She looked around for Jack and found him fighting with this huge, dirty man.

She thought he looked like an ape but all humor was forgotten when she saw the man slash Jacks side open.

Before she had a chance to think she ran up to Jack, who was on his knees, holding his bleeding wound.

"I told you to stay in me room!" He snapped, hoarsely. She ignored him and tried to yank his arm away from the wound so she could see it.

"I'm fine, luv! Now go back down stairs before-" He was cut off when he saw the huge ape man make a grab for Nicki.

He tried to push her out of the way but when he moved a crippling pain shot through his whole body.

She screamed as the man grabbed her and roughly pulled her into himself.

"Hands off dick head!" She yelled as she tried to fight out of his grip, but he was to strong.

“Shut yer mouth wench!” The man growled out.

“Let tha girl go Eadoin! This is between me an' you!" Jack said though clenched teeth.

"Ah, but the pretty lil thing will make a fun toy...for a while at least." Eadoin said with a grin, showing off his brow teeth.

Hearing this made Nicki beyond pissed off. “Screw you! I ain't no toy!” She shouted.

The man growled again and smacked her in the face, knocking her out.

The next thing she knew she was in a poorly lit room that smelled like the inside on a donkeys ass.

She groaned and tried to move her arm to brush some of her hair out of her face but she found she was chained to the wall.


“What...the...fuck..?” She muttered under her breath. “Yer chained to tha wall, luv.” She heard Jacks voice from somewhere in the dark room.


“I see that smart ass! I can't see a damn thing! Where are you?! Where are we?! WHY THE HELL AM I CHAINED UP?!?” She yelled.

“Calm down, lass! Tha reason ye can't see is because yer eyes need to adjust to tha lighten.. As for, where we are, we be on Eadoins sorry excuse for a ship. Any more questions?” Jack said calmly.

“...A few...” She whispered and Jack signed. “Shoot.”

“WHO THE HELL IS EADOINS?! THATS ONE! WHERE IS THE APE MAN WHO HIT ME?! THATS TWO! I WANT PAYBACK! AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST, WHAT DOES HE HAVE AGAINST YOU JACK?!?!?!” She screamed.

Jack was a bit taken back by her outburst but smiled none the less. “Clam down, luv! Number one, Eadoins is tha guy who hit you. An'..well.. hes got a bit of ...a grudge, if you will, against ol' Beads-Mick-Dread here.” Jack said as he pointed to himself.


Nicki laughed despite herself, her eyes finally adjusting to the dim lighting. She looked around the smelly room to find it was as rank as it smelled.


When she turned her head to the left again something caught her eye...it was moving! “Jack...” She whispered. She had no clue why but it was the first name she thought of.


“T'is me, luv. Dun worry.” He said, as if reading her mind. She relaxed slightly at the sound of his voice. “Look...um..I'm sor-” she was cut off when they heard the door open loudly.

He turned his head towards her and she could see his dark eyes in the dim light, they looked even darker then normal. “Dun say a word, luv.” Was all he said as a man walked into view..

Ok then! I updated! Um...hehe...sorry about the sucky-ness-ness but its like 3:00am and i am very tired. And wired on coffee. I got a review!!! YAY!!!! Made my day! So thank you sooooo much! And your right..the swearing is a lil on the high side =/ i didn't even notice i was doing it.. heh. I'll try to tone it down a bit.


Also, I'm new to this site so i dunno how to e-mail people yet haha. Plus I just accidentally deleted my review trying to reply to it! I was so stoked too! Ah! GRR!

I know this story seems like its been done 100037354 times before, and it most likely has, but this one with get better, more original, as it goes on...i hope haha.
