The Black Pearl
Disclamier: Don't owner..yet! LOL!
WhenI tryed to post this there were one or two radom questions mark's. THose are not from me I dodn't know why it dosn't that but I have seen other simlar things on ohter fics so I'm sorry for the sites mistakes!
I walked about the docs early one morning, taking in the sea air, looking out into the sea as if to find my freedom. My auburn hair blew across my face as I let out a sigh of pure comfort. Looking into the sea and watching the waves forum always gave me that feeling. At times I wondered how something so beautiful could determine something as evil and dark as death. As I scanned the horizon, like I did every morning, it came to my surprise to see a ship. Not that ships didn’t come to port often, to often at times, put this ship had a different air about it. I swore the second I laid eyes on it the wind picked up and brought a chill to my uncovered arms and shoulders. The only other ship that would have that effect on me was the Cutlass and that was a feeling I wouldn’t want to regain. For a while I sat on the white sand of the Turuga shore watching the ship approach at an almost unlikely speed. The shore. Oh yes, it was much quieter then the city that was just a bout a hundred feet beyond it. Still you could hear the laughing and random screaming even in the earlier hours, but it was a much nicer place to rest then in the bar I currently...worked in, if thats what you wanted to call it. I pinched the bridge of my nose and shook the image out of my head, getting up and turning in the direction of the city. By that time the ship had almost pulled into dock and I got a good hard look at it. On my way back I thought about the ship...Black sails. Now were have I heard of a ship with black sails before I asked myself. I knew there had been many stories of a captain so evil that hell it’s self had spat him back out! Ha, I had heard the exact saying by several people, but there have been no more stories of the evil captain or the ship, not for a half a year now. I pondered my thoughts for a few minutes until getting to the pub that I worked and stayed at. My hand laid on the large wooden door of the High Tower Inn, regretting to open it. I rolled my eyes and push threw the door looking around the semi crowed pub.
“ Aye, Nona, where were ya, didn’t even see ya leave
dis morning?” asked Hunter, the owner of the High Tower. He was a descent man, as descent as a man could get that owned a brothel and pub.
“I, stepped out for a moment is all, but I'm here now. And why dose it even matter I’m off today,” I replied sitting down on a stool that was placed in front of the bar.
“Jest like ta keep track of my girls. Why don’t you head up stairs and change, ya look a fright,” he told me. I looked down at my dress and brushed off the sand as I got up and headed to the back of the pub to my room.
“Look a fright he tells me, I’ll give him a fright!” I swore once inside my room and looking for a different dress to ware. My closet was filled with dresses, corsets and skirts along with a few pairs of breeches. I removed one of my favorite dresses, a burgundy velvet low cut colonial style. Once redressed I fastened my long wavy hair up and glanced in the mirror. I didn’t like to admit to it but I had become a very attractive young woman with a slender figure and strong bones. I stared into the green eyes that were looking back at me and apologized for the umpteenth time for what I have be come, placing my hand over the ribbon that cover my left wrist. I blinked my eyes and shook my head clearing my memory again. The pub had gotten a little bit louder then before so I figured I’d head out to see what was going on. There were a few men at a table near my door talking about the new ship that had docked.
“Na, I ‘eard that he killed him with jest a lantern and a quick hand,” one of the men stated.
“That’s impossible, Sparrow killed him when they weren’t even on the Black Pearl so were do ya think he got a lantern from,” a smaller man replied.
“Ether way Sparrows got the Black Pearl back and I’ve heard that ‘es coming ‘ere ta get some new crew members, and I know one thin’, I aint signin’ no accord with a man thats half mad!” the third pirate said taking a swig from his rum.
“Sparrow aint mad! He’s the smartest and bestest pirate in the Caribbean,” the small man said nodding his head and resting an elbow on the table.
“Bestest?...You idiot,” the third laughed and smacked his elbow off the table. I decided to stop spying on there conversation since no of them seemed to know what they were even talking about.
I walked back inside the pub and took a seat at the bar that faced the window looking out into the docks. The black ship, witch had been called the Black Pearl was already tired to the docks and the crew was forming down the gangplank. They all suddenly stopped, saved for the first man, causing the line of men to bang into one-another. I assumed the leader to be the captain as he then proceeded to walk up to some of them and smack the back of there heads and yell. It was a comical sight to be hold for sure and I couldn’t help but let out a little giggle on there behalf. A few minutes went by as the motley crew seamed to diminish until the assumed captain and another man came very well into view. The captain had a strange appearance about him with a three sided hat, long weather beaten coat, white and red sash, tunic, breeches and boots. That wasn’t the strange part at all though, he’s walk was cat like, placing one foot in front of the other and swaying slightly. His hair was long and dark with a number of beads and coins braided into the front under a red bandana. His eyes were dark and lined with kohl giving him an exotic look along with the two braids that hung from below this chin. He was different form most pirates being that he was handsome and relatively clean, compared to some. I didn’t even have time to look at the other man, I only noticed that he was pudgy, and had grayish hair. They pair walked to the front of the pub and came to open the door. The door hand flung open, bashing into an innocent, hung over, half awake bystander, causing him to fall to the ground with a thump. By this time almost everyone in the pub had turned there attention to the pair of men standing side by side in the door way. The captain looked at the man passed out on the floor.
“Sorry mate,“ he apologized, removing his hat momentarily, replacing it back on top of his head and nodding to the man next to him to proceed there walking. The captain came up to the bar, stepping on the stool next to me and jumping on top of the bar.
? ” Ahem...,“ the captain started. ”AHEM!....“ this time he got a few people to look up at him.
”Gentlemen, seeing that the last hurricane nearly blew the riggin’s off me bloody ship, and a very…dear friend of mine as lost his life to the sea, I’m in need of some new...crew members” he smiled. The men of the pub look around and slowly started to recover the conversations that were interrupted by the pirate.
“If any of you are crazy enough to come aboard the Pearl, jest say so,” the people in the pub continued talking like he hadn’t said anything. “ Come on….what say you?” he asked.
“Fine if thats how it’s gunna be!” he replied calmly and jumped off the bar and took the stool next to me. He ordered and mug of rum for him and his friend. I couldn’t help but look at him threw the conner of my left eye. He was very intriguing in many ways.
“ Here’s to you then luv,” he said once he got the rum in his hand, and turned his head to look at me.
“Captain Jack Sparrow,” he nodded taking a swig of his rum. I couldn’t help being a little nervous around him, I had no idea what the man was like, could he be trusted or would be sell me off at he next port if taken with him.
“Nona Adler...No tittle,” I joked, extending my right hand in front of him. Jack lent back in his chair as if it was a venomous snake, he’s eyes looked over my face and body for a moment be for he shook my hand.
“Pleasures all mine,” Jack said returning his hand to his rum.
‘Okay think..If your gunna get on this ship you gotta talk to him,’ I thought to myself. I tried to think to something that would strike an interest in the man.
“You have a beautiful ship Captain, whats her name?” I asked. It was the only thing thing I could think of, but complementing his ship might have just gave me some points. He smiled and turned his head to the the side as in aw over his ship.
“ The Black Pearl...Fastest ship in the caribbean. Thirty six guns, almost as many as Blackbeards Queen Anne’s Revenge, beats her by four ya know?” he stated matter-of-factly.
“So I’ve heard...” I trailed off. I had to think of something better then that. ‘Maybe I should just ask? But I better think of a good idea first.’ If I told him I wanted to become a pirate he would surly laugh in my face. Land just wan’t that same as the open sea and if I had to stay there any longer I was going to flip. I figured that my plan of action was to say that I ran away form my suitor and fled here and now I wanted to return to my home country after a year and find a new suitor. It wasn’t that best plan and I had no idea were my “home country” is going to be, it will be were ever he says he’s sailing. And if he takes me on, then I’ll figure it out form there, after all I am cleaver..I hope!
