Chapter Two
~~~~~~~~~~~
William let the information he'd just been given sink in for a moment. Could he wait? Did he have the patience to bide his time and let events unfold as they would? His rational mind knew that waiting was the most prudent course of action, but his heart, like most hearts, did not want to listen. His heart wanted to confront Elizabeth now and get things out in the open. Or else I feel as if I shall go mad, he thought.
But then, there was her. The stranger standing a couple of yards away from him who was fast becoming much more than a mere stranger. What were these feelings for her all about? It was as if the two of them had been travelling the same road in opposite directions and had seen one another from a distance. But now they had met and were standing in the middle of that road facing one another. He knew that she found him quite attractive. Most women did, though he had never taken advantage of anyone because of it. He was not about to start now. He sensed that Tia was a woman of some substance, powerful even, and it would be wise to just be himself with her. He could be nothing else, because basically, he was an honest man. He gathered his courage, stood and walked over to her side.
"Tia?"
"Yes?" she replied, still looking out at the water.
Here goes, he thought. He lifted a hand and placed it under her chin, turning her head to look at him. She looked up, momentarily stunned at the simple gesture, but pleased.
"I would like to look into your eyes when we speak to one another. Do you feel the same?" he asked, in that captivating voice.
"Yes...yes I do, William." she replied, surprised at the nervous timbre of her own voice.
"This is only our second meeting but I do believe that something is meant to happen between us, Tia. I can feel it when I look at you."
Tia blushed. William found her sudden shyness with him most fetching. He moved his hand to grasp one of her small ones in his own. Tiny hands they were, her skin as smooth and flawless as a child's. He brought it to his lips and kissed it, caressing it in both hands.
"You are right. I too can feel this. Your destiny holds much promise. I hope you believe me." she said.
"I do believe you, Tia. Something tells me to believe in you, too, as if you have my welfare at heart."
"You are a man of faith, William. And yes, your well-being has become my concern."
William dropped his eyes and smiled. "You are also right about my faith. It is a part of who I am and always has been. I always believed that I would find my father one day, and now I have. He may be in Davey Jones's clutches, but I did find him. That counts for something." He paused a moment, then spoke again. "Do I dare hope that...that you really care about what happens to me?"
Tia lifted one of her hands and caressed his cheek lightly, fingering some of the silken curls at his temple. "I find that I care very much, William. It just seems right, even though we barely know each other."
"You asked if I would like to know you when we first met. Well, the answer is yes. I would like to know the woman who has so graciously taken us into her home and given us a haven from our troubles. The woman whom I feel drawn to." He stepped closer and slid his hands around her waist, drawing her even closer. He wanted to feel it as she drew breath, to feel the living woman that she was beneath the skin. Being near her made him feel as if there was hope. As if something wondrous was in store for him, and she was at the center of it. They gazed at one another for long minutes and the sounds of the island, of the people in the house, the soft cawing of tropical night birds all faded and there was nothing but the two of them.
Tia had never in her life felt such an attraction to another person. As William held her close she fancied she could feel the very blood flowing through his veins, the fine muscles beneath his skin, the power in his slender frame.
She was soft and fragrant in his arms, like some intoxicating island flower in human form. He had to have her, he knew that for a fact. He did not want to hurt Elizabeth, but she was somehow less important than she had been mere hours ago when they'd lost Jack. He knew not why, or how, but it was truth.
"Tia?" he spoke her name softly, prayerfully. She looked up at him and waited.
"I would like it very much if you would share that destiny with me that you spoke of. Will you?"
Tia answered him, her voice soft but penetrating. There could be no mistake about her answer.
"Yes, William." she replied after a moment. "I would be with you."
The End
A/N - And there is it, readers. Hope everyone enjoyed it. Personally, I can hardly wait until the third movie comes out. We have no way of predicting what will happen with the Will/Elizabeth situation, but I would love to see Will and Tia have some kind of relationship. Thanks to all who gave reviews. It is inspiring and motivating.
Also, check out my other stories, which are as follows: "Be Still In Your Mind" an Omen'(2006) story pairing Keith Jennings and Robert Thorne; "Aragorn The Fair" which pairs Aragorn and Legolas from the Lord of the Rings; and "Little Death" from the CSI fandom, which pairs Greg and Warrick. The last two stories are under the author name 'Pearl'. All are slash, which is my favorite genre. In fact, a new slash story involving Haldir and Eomer, the two most gorgeous males in Middle Earth, is in the works and I will begin posting soon. If you don't like slash, I suggest you do not read what is coming, or any of the other stories I've listed. I promise you, it will be strictly Adults Only!
