Chapter 2
Chapter 2
Lex stood outside her daughter’s door listening to her moaning about her upcoming trip.
She smiled and walked inside to see Alia lying across her bed groaning about working with Shadow.
“Alia get up” Lex said as she sat on the bed.
Alia sat up with a frown. “Mother why him?”
“Because he will bring you back to me.”
Lex smoothed her hair. Alia smiled at her and laid her head on her lap.
“He doesn’t like Oomans.”
Lex sighed. “He does not trust some of them Alia, remember the ones that killed his partner Brack. False is his friend and a powerful ally and we owe him this much to help him.”
“No he hates me. Remember when I was in his room looking for Cha’dre and he came in and roared at me to get out in front of Uncle Wren and Father.”
Lex chuckled. “Why were you in his room?”
Alia sat up. “That’s not the point. He roared at me in anger.”
Lex sighed. “It will be fine Alia. You will be safest with Shadow and you are very persuasive when you wish to be.”
“You think that will work around the Oomans.”
“Alia you are very smart and you can help calm the talk of war.”
Alia smiled at her mother. “You think I can do this.”
“Yes we all know you can.”
Alia stood and walked towards her closet as Lex called it. “What will I wear?”
“Garnet thought you should wear clothing befitting an ambassador.”
Alia smiled revealed dimples. “Really”
Lex laughed at her. “They should be arriving shortly.”
Ship Dea’dre – High Council-
Th’or and Kra’ven smiled as Shadow walked into their council room with his helmet under his arm. Gage smiled at him and took his helmet as Th’or and Kra’ven came down to greet their grandson. Th’or engulfed Shadow in his arms and purring filled the entire council room. Kra’ven growled at his brother to move. Th’or growled back but moved and Kra’ven took over hugging him.
They parted and Shadow was as quiet as ever.
“I trust Palen was compliant with your wishes.” Kra’ven purred.
“He was silent and observant.”
“Your Mother is here.”
Shadow’s mood brightened. Th’or growled. “She’fah is here also.”
Shadow lost his happiness. They only tolerated She’fah because of Lee.
She’fah carefully entered the hall knowing Th’or and Kra’ven debated his existence by the hour; even if Lee forgave him, others would not.
“I thought I heard purring.”
Shadow turned to face She’fah leaning against the doorframe.
“Lee will be upset if you do not come see her now before she is robbed of your presence.”
Shadow nodded and followed She’fah. Th’or and Kra’ven decided to join them.
Lee was in the last stage of her 20th pregnancy and Bay only allowed her to visit her Father on one condition that she be bed ridden the entire time. Lee agreed and Mellow and Sasha made sure the bed was where she stayed.
Lee was reading something on the hologram from Lex. She chuckled at a picture of Gar’re and the new baby. The door opened and Lee tried to get out of the bed.
Th’or growled at her. ”What are you doing?”
Lee sat back. Shadow came around the corner.
“Ka’leb!”
She stretched out her hands to her son and Shadow kneeled and filled them. He chuckled at the chaotic kicking going on in her stomach. Lee pulled back from him and put her hand to the spot.
“Are you alright Lee?” Th’or purred suddenly on the bed beside her.
“I’m just excited and so is he I see.”
Shadow touched her rounded stomach and the kicking started again harder.
Lee chuckled. Shadow smiled at his Mother.
Lee caressed his face. “Lex has told me why Gar’net wishes to speak with you.”
“False needs your help with the Oomans that live on Ruen. They are threatening a war because they think some of False’s clan killed some of the settlers there.”
Shadow looked up at Kra’ven. “I don’t negotiate.”
“He knows that and he is sending you to do what you do and Alia will do what she can.”
Shadow stood. “Alia”
Lee smiled up at him. “You haven’t seen her in a while she is very persuasive when she wants to be.”
Shadow looked at his grandfather. “Lia’kon did not agree to this did he?”
Th’or nodded. “False saved us at Ruen he would go himself but he knows they would respond well to Alia.”
“Why do you think that because she looks like an Ooman?”
“Well that and she damn beautiful.” She’fah’s tone stressed the damn beautiful part.
“What does that have to do with stopping a war?”
“You would be surprised my grandson.” Th’or interjected.
Shadow didn’t like it.
Lee frowned. “I trained her myself she is quite as Lex likes to call her, the Ninja.”
Shadow didn’t care if she was could defeat an entire army of hard skins she had better do her job and stay out of his way. Shadow growled.
“I know you are going because False is your friend.” Lee purred at him.
Shadow nodded. Lee raised her arms to him. “Give your Mother more love and be on your way.”
Shadow smiled and kneeled down to hug her amidst the kicking.
Ship Man’this – Clan Gar’net
Gar’net held his smallest grandson while playing with the other two.
“Put that down before your Mother sees you with it.”
The child returned the blade to Gar’net’s sheath. The young Yautja laughed as Gar’net smiled that it was their secret about his training. Ashe grunted that the child needed a better teacher.
Aker’ra walked into the room.
“Shadow will be here in fifteen minutes he has just left ship Dea’dre.”
Gar’net nodded at Aker’ra. He stood and handed Ashe the baby who cooed at him. Aker’ra smiled.
Ashe smiled and handed him the baby. “You know more about these than I.”
Aker’ra took the baby. “I’ll save you from him.”
Rayn sighed as she came out of the other room. “I’m surprised you are not on top of Kaladan at this very minute.”
“There are more positions than that Rayn.” She gasped as he handed her the child and departed with Gar’net and Ashe.
Gar’net looked at Ashe. “I’m surprised he’s not with her now also.”
Ashe chuckled at the Captain shaking his head smiling as he walked behind them towards the landing bay.
Alia looked at the black clan colored dress she wore. Her breasts were barely inside the thing and everything considered unacceptable to show in public was showing.
“Ambassador my…”
“Alia!” Lex chuckled wondering which of her brothers taught her how to curse.
“Where is the rest of it?”
She began looking through the box for the rest of the dress.
“I had to wear that same dress for a clan ceremony at ship Dea’dre.”
Alia looked at the inch strip across the nipples of her breasts. She was bare until she came to the four slit skirt so her long shapely legs could be seen. “You can not be serious.”
Gar’net and Ashe turned down the hallway towards the council room but they stopped when Aker’ra did not follow them. Ashe crinkled his brow in question.
“Rito and Myx are with him.” Aker’ra replied matter of factly.
Gar’net looked at Ashe. “We better run to the landing bay.”
Lia’kon, Bron’ea, and Sah’que were already there when Gar’net arrived with Aker’ra and Ashe. The ship pulled into the bay at a frightening rate of speed but landed safely. The doors opened and Shadow walked down the ramp wearing his helmet.
“Let us go retrieve Alia.” Gar’net clicked.
Two council guards followed behind the group.
Alia looked through the other boxes. “The others have a lot more material than this one.”
Lex sighed. She didn’t think Scar would like the idea of Alia wearing this type of clothing on Ruen or anywhere else.
Alia looked at herself in the mirror. “I look like one of those hoonchie coochie girls you talk about.”
Lex busted out with laughter. “It’s hoochie coochie.”
The party outside heard the laughter as the doors opened and they were greeted by the sight of Lex laughing at Alia, while she had her hands in her hair and gyrated her body to some song she was singing.
Lia’kon growled. Alia opened her eyes and wanted to crawl under her bed.
Shadow was happy he wore his helmet. She was damn beautiful.
“What were you doing?” Bron’ea purred at Alia as she hid around the corner embarrassed.
‘Oh leave her alone.” Lex said laughing. “You go on I’ll bring her to the council room.”
Alia entered the council room with all of her flesh covered from her neck to her feet in a long black robe. Gar’net nodded at her and she sat beside Shadow.
“The situation has become worse. False has informed me that the Oomans now have 2 Warships orbiting Planet Ruen. You Alia must make them send them back or there will be war. I will not sit and wait for them to harm False. Shadow you are needed to do what you do and find out what happen to those settlers. Aggression will only be tolerated if it is needed. You are the last chance at peace that False has.”
Lex helped Alia with the clan ceremonial attire as Lia’kon came in with another box and handed it to Alia.
She smiled at her father and pulled out the thick black cape to wear over the dress.
“It came with a cape.” Lex said to him frowning. Scar purred at her.
Alia fastened it around her neck and then hugged her parents.
Shadow watched her approaching the ship with Rito carrying a case of her clothing. She looked frightened as they walked up the ramp.
“Bron’ea said you two have no concept of slow.”
Myx chuckled behind his helmet as Alia took her seat.
They heard a child roaring at them and running towards the ship. Rito moved out of the way, as Adam leaped on to his sister for a hug goodbye.
“I looked all over for you Adam.” She said squeezing him tight.
Adam purred. “You never look that hard.”
Alia smiled and released him. “Now you stay out of trouble until I return.”
Adam rolled his eyes. “I am in trouble now.” Alia chuckled.
Adam got out of her lap and looked at the helmeted Shadow then remembered why he came.
“I have something for you.”
Alia’s eyes got big and she smiled with dimples.
“Aunt Kaz thought you should have it just in case you needed it.”
Alia took the black sheath from her brother and concealed it as Lia’kon came on board to retrieve his son.
“Bye Alia.” He roared from his father’s arms as he carried him from the ship.
Straps came over Alia’s body as the engines roared to life and the fighter bolted from the Mother ship. It was usually a four-hour flight to Planet Ruen; Rito and Myx would make it there in less than an hour.
