Chapter Four:
“So...” She said nervously.
Raiden noted the nervousness of his Mother's Champion.
“What is your name?”
She blushed and turned her back to him.
“Una...”
Raiden stepped up to her.
“Why are you nervous?” He asked.
Una tossed her head a little, popping her neck.
“Your Mom chose me when I was a little girl,” She told him, “when I was only three years old...a kid at the daycare had broke my brother's arm, so I broke his nose...When I got home....She talked to me. She told me about you, said that one day, I might get to work with you. I didn't know that it would happen fifteen years later...” She chuckled.
Raiden raised a brow.
“You are eighteen?”
Una turned around.
“Yeah, what of it?”
Raiden raised his hands in a placating manner.
“I meant nothing. I just didn't know how young you would be.”
Una snorted.
“Something tells me that she didn't tell you anything about me.”
Raiden rolled his eyes.
“Not a word.”
Una laughed. Raiden had a thought.
“How many brothers do you have?”
Una laughed again. Raiden deciding he loved that sound.
“Brooklyn, Sirius, Braverly,” Three, “Aurelius, Levon, Cash, Atherton, Brawley, Roman,” Nine, “Sage, my twin, and Coop, Roman's twin,” Eleven.
Raiden nodded his head.
“Did my mother tell you what being her Champion entails?”
Una looked up at him, her violet eyes questioning.
“A little. Mostly she wanted me to keep an eye out for you and yours...Make sure that you keep out of trouble...” She grinned, “if that is at all possible for you.”
Raiden laughed, Una twitched at the sound of his husky voice.
“You should tell Johnny not to be jealous so much,” Una told him.
Raiden's brows furrowed.
“What do you mean?”
“He hit on me before the boat showed up.”
“And what did you do?”
Una snickered.
“I told him he should get drunk before going on a boat. I was half tempted to just push him in the water right then and there, let the boat run him over.”
Raiden laughed, then looked at her.
“You are changing the subject.”
Una rolled her eyes.
“So you finally noticed that?” She raised a brow.
“Yes.”
Una laughed. Every time either of them made a movement or sound, they seemed to make the other twitch. Raiden didn't know what it was about this little girl that made him twitch like that. She turned her back to him, hanging her head, her long, soft, blood red locks falling forward, to reveal the mark of a certain type of Champion.
“She marked you....” He said softly.
Una lifted her head, her hair once again covering the angel wing tattoos on her back.
“Those things?”
Raiden nodded.
“She sent me the money to get them done when I was fifteen. I was always saying how I wanted a tattoo, so she got so annoyed by my bitching and moaning that she did something about it. She sent a design with the money, didn't know it was her mark.”
Raiden cocked his head.
“Not her mark specifically, but the mark of The Angel Of Thunder. My mother's Champion.”
Una laughed and Raiden's eyes fluttered closed.
“Oh well,” She shrugged, “knew she was going to do it sooner or later. Rather then than now.”
Una turned around and Raiden looked at her with hooded eyes. Una cocked her head and looked at him thoughtfully.
(Down to the earth I fell
With dripping wings)
Raiden reached out and touched Una's hair. Una let out a breathy sigh as she leaned into the touch of his hand.
(Heavy things won't fly
And the sky might catch on fire)
Her eyes fluttered closed and nuzzled her head further into his warm touch. Raiden stepped closer to her, letting his hand cup her cheek.
(And burn the axis of the world
That's why I prefer a sunless sky
To the glittering and stinging in my eyes)
Una groaned when the warm skin of Raiden's hand touched her cheek. She felt him step closer to her, feeling her own knees grow weaker, unable to support her. Raiden saw her knees shake and caught her as she slipped.
(I feel so light
This is all I want to feel tonight)
Una looked up at Raiden with a dark purple gaze. Raiden held her up with one arm, his free hand stroking her cool cheek. It was cold down there in the bowels of the ship. And she was feeling every bit of it the second she stepped through the door. Una's hand weakly raised up, coming to rest on Raiden's neck.
(I feel so light
Tonight and the rest of my life)
Raiden leaned forward, his snow-white hair creating a pale curtain around them, brushing his lips against hers. While his lips were still on hers, he lifted her up, her legs wrapping around his waist.
Meanwhile:
“Did you see a man in white follow my sister into the ship?” Sage asked Liu and the others.
Liu nodded. Sage laughed.
“The Lady was right,” He laughed.
“Who's The Lady?” Sonja asked.
Sage took a breath and calmed himself.
“Raiden's mother,” He told her, unable to keep a straight face.
(Gleaming in the dark sea
I'm as light as air)
Raiden had pressed her into a pole, out of sight of the doorway, should anyone come looking for them. Which was very likely of her brother and his Champions. Una had one arm around Raiden's neck and the other was free for her hand to grip a part sticking out of the pole above her head.
(Floating there breathlessly
When the dream dissolves)
Raiden kissed her with such a passion that he hadn't shown in years. Una just wanted to melt down the pole and pool at the floor. She felt herself craving Raiden's kiss, wanting his touch. She tightened her legs at his hips.
(I open up my eyes
I realize that)
Raiden broke the kiss to look at her.
“Tease,” She groaned.
Raiden laughed. He shifted her weight against the pole, making it a bit more comfortable. Una's eyes rolled into her head when his mouth latched onto her neck, just under her ear.
“You're loving this, aren't you?” She asked him.
She felt just how much he was loving this, but said nothing.
“Maybe,” He said before nipping her earlobe, making her bite back a moan.
Her head thumped against the pole.
“I think the floor would be more comfortable at this point,” She groaned, wiggling against him, trying to find something more comfortable.
(Everything is shoreless sea
A weightlessness is passing over me)
Raiden held on to Una, lifting her away from the pole. He set her carefully on her feet, letting her lean against the pole.
Meanwhile:
“What do you think they're talking about?” Sage asked.
Liu looked at him.
“Who?”
“Una and Raiden, duh.”
Sonja snickered.
“Who knows,” Johnny shrugged.
Sage smacked him.
“You're just jealous,” He told the actor, “that she didn't take up on your offer.”
Liu raised a brow.
“What offer?” He asked.
Sage grinned.
“He hit on her before the boat arrived,” Sage said with a straight face, “she asked if he should be drunk before he got on the boat.”
Sonja nodded in confirmation when Liu looked her.
“When she was taunting Shang Tsueng...” Sage sighed, “He was watching her...”
(Everything is shoreless sea
A weightlessness is passing over me)
Raiden had his robe spread out, lowering her onto it, attached at the lips.
“There was something in his eyes...”
Raiden looked at her for a moment before kissing down her neck, his fingers drifting down her bared ribs.
“There was just something about the way he was watching her...”
Una ran a foot up Raiden's leg, squeezing his hips with her thighs when he bit down gently on her neck.
(I feel so light
This is all I want to feel tonight)
Raiden's free hand snaked back up her ribs, making her arch into the touch. He sat up, making her whimper at the loss. He slowly unhooked each of the nine latches on her top, kissing every inch of skin he uncovered.
“He did look intrigued.”
“Yeah...but for some reason, it felt like more than that.”
(I feel so light
Tonight and the rest of my life)
Una's hands ran up and down Raiden's bare back. Her clothes hung on one of the rungs sticking out of the pole that she had been pressed against. Her legs were loosely wrapped around his hips, but when he finally settled his weight over her, they tightened in anticipation.
(Everything is waves and stars
The universe is resting in my arms)
Una gripped his back, letting out a breathy gasping moan as he pressed into her. Her entire body arched into his touch as he continued.
Chapter Five:
Una cracked her neck, leaning on the railing, looking at the water. She felt a hand on her back and she looked behind her to see Raiden.
“Hey,” She smiled.
Raiden just smiled at her. He stepped back and looked at what she wore.
“You have strange taste, Una,” He said as he stepped back up to her, putting an arm around her.
Una furrowed her brows.
“Is that supposed to be a compliment?” She asked, resting her head on his shoulder.
Raiden kissed her hair.
“You're avoiding,” She told him in a sing-song voice.
“I know,” He replied in the same sing-song voice.
Una smacked him playfully. Raiden sighed.
“We're almost to the island,” He told her.
She leaned her head back and looked up at him.
“And?”
Raiden closed his eyes and shook his head.
“Some of Shang Tsueng's recruits are going after Sage when they get a fair distance away from the boat,” He told her, rather reluctantly, “since he wasn't chosen for the games, they don't see a reason for him to be here and got it in their heads to do away with him.”
Una growled, his mother's touch swimming in the sound.
“They won't touch him,” She hissed.
Raiden held her and brought her gaze to him once more.
“I asked Liu Kang to stay with him,” He told her.
Una groaned.
“Do you think that will stop them?” She asked him.
He sighed.
“I know it won't,” He confessed.
Raiden stroked her hair, the action comforting him and Una. He hooked a finger under her chin and brought her gaze to his. The two new lovers didn't know that Raiden's champions were watching them, along with Sage. They couldn't hear a word, but they saw everything.
“Well...” Sage coughed quietly, “guess something did happen last night.”
Raiden stroked her chin with his thumb.
“He's in love...” Sonja said softly.
Sage, Johnny, and Liu looked at her.
“Can't you see it?” She said to them, shrugging when they said nothing.
Una closed her eyes.
“Una...”
She opened them again.
“Raiden...”
Raiden moved a lock of hair, that the slight wind had blown in her face, out of her eyes.
“Just be careful,” He said softly, his husky voice laced with worry, “I don't trust Shang Tsueng.”
Una giggled.
“That's what your mother said,” She confessed, adding when she stepped up on her toes, “but I didn't kiss her after she said it.”
Una kissed Raiden softly. Four jaws dropped to the deck of the boat. Una wrapped her arms around his neck and he lifted her up off her feet, spinning her around once before he put her down gently on the deck.
“Just be careful, Una,” He told her, reluctantly letting his young lover go.
She gave him a hug before he disappeared in a burst of sparks. She let out a breathy sigh and touched her lips, taking her previous position of leaning over the rail.
Chapter Six:
The boat let everyone off and Una stayed a ways behind Sage, waiting and watching for whoever was going to attack him. The young man stayed next to Liu Kang, not stepping away for a second.
“We are being watched,” Liu told him, “and it's not only your sister.”
As if on cue, several men converged on the two men, Liu automatically adopting a fighting stance. Sage didn't know what to do, he didn't train with Una and the others as much as Sirius and Braverly did. The men managed to separate Liu from Sage, knocking the teenager on his back, a foot to his throat. Sage struggled against the foot, trying to move it, but with no success. He waited for the pain of a crushed throat to come, but it didn't. He heard a 'tsk'ing sound that was so familiar.
“That's not nice, boys,” Una said her hand raised.
Sage sat up, rubbing his throat. He looked around and saw his attacker laying fifteen feet away.
“How...” He croaked, trying to speak, but not succeeding due to the throbbing pain in his throat.
Una helped her brother stand, checking his throat. Sage saw electricity dancing around the corner of her eyes. The Lady's Touch. Then he noticed something else: HUGE HONKING WHITE FEATHER WINGS ON HIS BABY SISTER'S BACK! Una made a note to ask Raiden to take a look at his throat.
“Bad, bad boys,” Una scolded her attackers, only annoying and angering them further, adding with a soft voice, “come on, Sage, lets get going.”
Una took Sage's arm and the twins made the trek to Shang's with Sonja, Johnny, Art, and Liu watching their backs.
