Chapter 2
Her name spat from his lips seemed to knock her out of her paralysis and she did the only thing that she could think to do. She turned and ran, her mind pulling her in a billion different directions. The people around her seemed to blur as she pushed past them elbowing them if they wouldn’t move fast enough, the only thing that mattered is that she get away from him as fast as she could. As soon as her feet hit the sand though she knew that she wasn’t going to get away from them cause there he was standing just in front of her, his arms folded across his chest, the blue eyes that had haunted her dreams for years holding her in place.
“I’m sorry.” She whispered closing her eyes, her bottom lip trembling as she refused to look at him.
“Why did you run?” his voice was calm, frighteningly so as he stood there. To anyone who knew him as well as the others did though they could see the differences, the rigged back, the tight lip, he was furious. She never saw it coming until she felt the sharp sting jerk her head to the side and heard the harsh crack of skin connecting with skin, but even as she was falling a hand being wrapped around her arm stopped her from hitting the sand. “Damn it answer me!” he growled his grip on her arm tightening to the point that she was sure that she would have a bruise the next morning. “Why did you run Talya?”
She flinched as he spoke her childhood name, not even Demetrius with all that he had done had ever dared to call her by that name. She swallowed, the only person who had ever called her that had been her younger brother, her twin and to hear it after so many years caused all of her walls to break.
“No.” she whimpered still not daring to meet his gaze even as he shook her. David growled and in that moment she knew that he had seen them, the jagged looking bite marks that Demetrius had left on her that morning before she had managed to escape. She swallowed ripping her hand out of David’s loosened grasp her hand flying to cover up the proof of her enslavement.
“who?” he demanded once more after a moment of silence had passed between the two siblings. She shook her head once more keeping her eyes averted, she knew vampires well enough to know that they had to maintain eye contact in order to maintain control over a human.
“he’s Russian you don’t know him.” She swallowed softly turning her head away from him. David glared at her his hand reaching up to wrap itself around her neck, as she gasped her eyes growing wide with fear as she finally dared to look up at him. It was as he held her there that his mind seemed to register yet another fact about his sibling, the pounding of a human heart as fear laced adrenaline pumped through the body.
“You’re human.” It was a statement not a question as he released his hold on her throat starring at her. She glared her own ice blue eyes hard.
“No shit Sherlock.” Fear was slowly beginning to replace with anger the longer she starred at her younger brother, her normal sass coming to the surface.

Meanwhile hundreds of miles away Demetrius was furious as he paced around the cramped front of his cave.
“Where is she?” he demanded of one of the men that were supposed to keep her within the confines of the cave. Sevastian shrugged a bad move on his part. Demetrius turned to glare at his brother, his pack mate, a snarl curling his upper lip away from his razor sharp fangs.
“I don’t see what you’re getting all bent out of shape about.”Sevastian rolled his eyes as he glanced down at his nails, his leg crossed over the other, and “you and I both know the second that she falls asleep you’ll know exactly where she is. You’re her master, her owner.” He smirked glancing up at his brother licking his bottom lip as he did. “You control her, remember?” Demetrius smirked as he remembered that little fact seeming to lose a little of his anger at the fact that she was missing when he woke up. Shaking his head he looked over at his brother.
“Which one of your idiots was watching her?” he titled his head to the side stroking his bottom lip with his thumb deep in thought. Sevastian glanced up at Demetrius, before shaking his head, somebody would pay for her going missing and he would be damned if it was him.
“Angelo.” Demetrius nodded before smirking and heading towards the back of the cave in search of the boy in question. The moment that he was gone from sight Sevastian closed his eyes pinching the bridge of his nose. Personally he was glad the little hellion was gone but he wouldn’t dare to admit that to his brother, instead he stood faking interest as he walked to stand at the mouth of the cave. They were in the middle of nowhere it wasn’t like the girl exactly had a lot of places that she could go. He grinned, a feral grin though showed off his teeth as he thought of what would happen then. He could practically hear her screams echoing off of the walls already. He chuckled as he glanced up at the moon that was shining off of the show covered ground. It was only a matter of time until she slept and then his brother would have his toy back and everything would be right again. Until then he would deal with the moods that he was in, but when the bitch was dragged back, and it was a when not an if well then she would really pay and it would be painful too.
