I really had doubts about this. Serious spoilers ahead!!!!!!!!!!
I also have a decent working knowledge of tallships, so I'm hoping to have most of the layouts for them set up properly. Ah, the wonders of geek-hood.

Jack seemed quite pleased to settle into a chair in his cabin and unfold the paper he had stashed in his shirt for safe keeping. For a moment, he seemed to forget Will's presence entirely. Suddenly looking up, the Captain smiled.
"Sit, Will. Relax, and tell me what news you had."
"As I said, I really had no news other than what I said."
"There must be a reason for you to have come looking for me, other than that the woman you had obsessed over turned to be less than what you expected."
Sighing, Will took the only remaining seat: the bed. "I wished to ask you of my father..."
"I've told you what I know.""Whe"When I was captured by Barbossa, I had heard that my father was killed... But I question that."
Jack stood now, cocking his head to one side as he looked Will over. "What is there to question?"
"Cortez's gold... Everyone that took part of the treasure the day it was found, was placed under the curse. You did not, because of the mutiny, but my father did."
"He rejected it, if I understand correctly."
"But he still took it."
Jack leaned against the desk and crossed his arms in front of his chest. "You've already accepted that he was a good man. This cannot be about morals."
"No," Will shook his head; "I think there may be a chance he lives."
Jack shrugged, "I wouldn't know."
Will stood, "But think! If he took the treasure as well, even if it was through sharing, he would have been subjected to the curse. He would have been indestructable as well. If he managed to escape the fate Barbossa had for him, my father could very well have lived somewhere until last year, when the curse was broken."
"Will, my boy, think about that. His blood, your blood, broke the curse. He wasn't like the rest of those bastards. They used the gold to further their greed, your father didn't."
Will looked down, "But-"
Two hands were placed on the younger man's shoulders and Jack gave Will a gentle shake. "Stop this, Will. If Bootstrap Bill lives, we're bound to run into him. But do not hold much hope for it. He was a good man and a great friend, and you are like him in all respects. He would be proud of you."
Will smiled and put a hand over one of Jack's. "Thank you."
Jack straightened and grinned. "I'm your captain; I need to make sure you can stay in good condition. You were starting to sound like me, by the way."
"That would never do," Will said, chuckling. Jack patted his back.
"Let's get you to a bed. I'm sure you've had enough for the day. Stuffy soldiers to travel with. Running away, more ors." s."
Jack waved to the lookout change as he led Will off. Rather than to the generunksunks near the 'kitchens' (the bunks near the stove to add warmth on colder nights), Jack led Will down the small, narrow corridor to an actual cabin.
"First mate?" Will asked, slightly amazed.
Jack nodded, "You helped get her back, you help run her. Of course, that just means you don't have to clean up."
Will grinned, "I can't believe that you hadn't filled this position."
"Just don't do anything stupid," Jack said, starting to walk off before turning suddenly. "I mean it."
Will laughed, "I promise I'll behave."
"Just follow orders."
"I'll try."
Jack shook his head and walked off the way he had come. Will sighed and opened the door to his own cabin, smiling at the thought. The bed was made, a few small shelves for meager belongings, a trunk against the wall that seperated the common bunks and his, a desk and chair, as well as a little nightstand by the head of the bed. While smaller than Jack's, it was more than what Will had expected. When he last travelled with Jack, he had shared the commons.
The only thing Will had taken with him was a small pack he still wore with a few changes of clothes and a small amount of money. Placing the pack on the floor by the door, Will found a little box of matches on the desk next to a lamp. The light coming through the smalldow dow was enough to see by, but he wanted to see the details now. Lighting the wick of one lamp, Will looked around the room with the small flame giving a comforting glow. There was not much else that he could see, and he was rather tired. twisting the 'valve' on the oil lamp to ensure that the flame wuld not recieve anymore fuel, Will blew the glowing wick out and pulled back the covers on the bed after closing and locking the door. Deciding against removing anything other than his boots, he lay down and let the soft rocking of the ship relax him.

Jack frowned when he reached his cabin again. He had not, could not, lie to Will for some reason; and it had been the same with the boy's father. Will Turner, senior, had been far more than just a good friend, but he could not blame the man for not immediately coming to his defense. Better to live and make amends, than to die.
But the boy could be on to something. Barbossa would easily have lied, and a crew of cut-throats were just as bad; at least Jack and his men had some honour amongst them. But Will's thes..es... there was a small, almost nonexistant chance, but it was still a chance.
Jack sighed and sat down, thinking. If the boy was correct, than that could mean a lot of catching up to do with his friend. If not, than nothing would change, other than that Will proved to be exactly like his father. Looking for hope in any situation.
He picked up the paper of the schedules and looked them over. The first few he would have to ignore. Though the Black Pearl could easily catch up, the crew deserved this time to relax. And he still needed to make sure Will could handle what he was signing on for. There were a few big merchant vessels that were stopping in the Americas before continueing to Europe, either from the deep south of South America, or from the Orient. A few smaller ones from The British colony further north, Upper and Lower Canada, and a few slightly south of those. Some smaller loads that would not pay much, but offer better trainin Wil Will would be on the seas in a week or two.
Jack settled on a few of the smaller ones that were far enough apart to give them plenty of running time, and a few of the larger ones that would give a better payoff later on. There was enough of a time between the newly intended targets to give them time to stop at a few ports and make any repairs or restock if there were no useful supplies to be found on the ships.
Satisfied with this, Jack replaced the paper on the desk, securing it beneath a book he had. He extinguished the flame in his lamp and lay on his bed, letting his mind wander.
Will had pirate blood in him, he was capable as a fighter, and has more than proved himself a year ago. Jack had to admit that he had been impressed when he first met the boy, the fire and passion that radiated from Will was amazing. Of course, he had found the boy to be infuriating at times, but dependable, and far too much like his father for Jack's comfort. The boy drew people to him, inspired them with his own zeal, and was a pain in the ass while he did it. Jack smiled, Will had potential.
The frown returned, Jack was certain that he was getting too attached to the whelp. Even when he saw Barbossa holding the knife to Will's throat, his heart had plummetted. Though he had brushed it off, he had made sure Will had an inkling of what he was planning, grateful when it seemed to work. He was starting to care for the boy, and in this line of work, it was far too dangerous.

Hope you're enjoying it so far. I'm trying to get how the characters actually were in the movie (though I sincerely doubt I can define Jack's way of moving ;)). Please, let me know if you have any suggestions, all constructive critisism is appreciated.
And if anyone knows the names of the guys in Jack's new crew, could you help me out? I only saw it once, and I'm pretty sure I was too busy drooling everytime Orlando walked on screen to pay attention to other characters.
