Underworld: Retaliation

Mrs. Bollinger: [Waves Eve to the front]

Eve: [Goes up and stands beside her]

Mrs. Bollinger: Class, we have a new student. This is Eve Corvin. She has come here from Budapest, France. She and her family just moved here a couple of months ago and had just settled in. This is her first time in school, so I want everyone to treat her nicely. [Looks at Eve] You may sit.

Eve: [Goes back to her spot]

Each class, Eve was introduced. No one talked to her and she kept to herself only raising her hand to answer the teacher's question if she knew it. It's now lunch time and she sits by herself.

Eve: [Eating her pork chop]

Girl: [Walks over and sits down] Hi! My name is Nim. You're Eve Corvin, right?

Eve: [Looks at her and nods]

Nim: It's ok. I don't bite. We have second period math together with Mrs. Smith. I know you probably don't have any friends, so I kind of was hoping to be your first.

Eve: It's nice to meet you, Nim. And sure. I could use some friends.

Nim: Cool. So what are you?

Eve: Excuse me?

Nim: Sorry. I don't mean to be rude. It's just my curiosity gets the best of me sometimes. So what are you? A vampire or lycan? Don't worry, your secret's safe with me.

Eve: Neither. I'm a mix of both. A hybrid. I'm the first hybrid child that's ever existed. At least that's what my mother told me. My sister is the second.

Nim: You have a sister?

Eve: Yep. Her name's Elizabeth Taylor Corvin. She was named after my mom's human twin nieces. My middle name is Cecelia. Named after my mother's older human sister.

Nim: Cool. So what are your parents? One of each I guess.

Eve: Not exactly. My mother's a vampire and my father's a hybrid. He was the first hybrid to exist. My mother was on her sixth century mark as a vampire and my father was a human. They were hunting down the lycans in a subway station and Mama found out they were after my father. She went to save him and then not realizing he was bit until she was told and saw it with her own eyes, was only interested in finding out why the lycan leader Lucian wanted my father. The next night, they kissed and Mama didn't know what was happening to her until her dark father Viktor who betrayed her ordered her to kill him. She went to save him again and then the second vampire in command Kraven shot Daddy in the chest three times. Lucian was still alive and distracted Kraven from shooting Mama. Next thing she knew, she was biting Daddy to save his life.

Nim: Wow. So then what happened?

Eve: Maybe I should tell you the rest later. Do you think you could come over?

Nim: [Texts her dad and gets a reply]

Nim's Dad: Sure thing. Just be home by 10:00.

Nim: [Looks at her] Yeah. Dad says it's ok. I just have to be home by ten.

Eve: Cool. Meet me at the front door of the school at 2:30. My parents are picking me up.

Nim: Ok. [Bell rings] See you after school.

After school, the girls met up. Michael and Selene were sitting in the car.

Selene: [Sees Eve and gets out walking over to her] Hey, Sweetheart. Who's this?

Eve: [Smiles and turns to her mother] This is my new friend Nim. She's coming home with us today, but she has to be home by ten. She knows about us, but she can keep it secret. She's the only one that knows.

Selene: [Nods] Alright. Come on then. David has a date soon and Elizabeth can't be by herself.

Eve/Nim: [Follow her and they leave]

At home, the girls go inside and Eve leads Nim to the nursery.

Elizabeth: [Spots her sister and coos happily]

Eve: [Picks her up and kisses her forehead] Hey, Baby Liz. I want you to meet my new friend Nim.

Elizabeth: [Looks at Nim and smiles cooing]

Eve/Nim: [Laugh]

Eve: She's here to play with me. I have homework too, so I'll see you later. [Puts her back in the crib and turns to Nim] Ready for math homework?

Nim: [Frowns] No, but lets get it over with. Then you can tell me more about your parents.

Eve: [Nods and takes her to her room upstairs]
