"Hey girl, how you livin'?"
Lora looked up from her magazine slowly and smiled in Letty's general direction, brushing a hand through her hair as she replaced the book on the rack and stood to her feet.
"I'm alright. Are you guys almost finished in there?" She pointed towards the garage; spotting Jesse leaned over one of the many vehicles they were working on.
"Yeah, I think Dom's about ready to quit for the day. Where's Mi?"
Letty leaned over the counter and peered into the back of the shop, noticing Mia as she returned with several Corona's and a Dr. Pepper.
"I still can't believe Jesse stopped drinking. How long has it been?"
"Three weeks." Lora answered, placing her hand on her stomach. She remembered the day perfectly, it was the day after she had told him she was pregnant.
Jesse stood up from the motor he was working on and arched his back, turning to see Lora, who was watching him from the door of the garage.
"The other's left an hour ago, Jess. What are you still doing here?"
She walked up to him slowly, running her hands over his chest before hugging him.
Jesse wrapped his arms around Lora and pulled her towards him, breathing in the soft vanilla of her hair.
"I wanted to get this car finished so we can get paid for it tomorrow. With everything that's going on.." His voice trailed off for a moment as he looked down at Lora, who placed her hands on her stomach. "..we need the money."
"I'm going in the morning to start putting in applications downtown.. plus Dom was talking about me helping Mia out at the store during the day."
Jesse shook his head and turned towards the vehicle, letting the hood down slowly.
"No way, Lora. You aren't going to be working in your condition. With the races and everything and me working here we should have enough money."
Lora took in a breath and leaned against the hood of the vehicle, looking up at Jesse with pleading eyes. She didn't know what they were going to do.
"Do you think this is a huge mistake? Sometimes I feel like I've ruined your life." She whispered, looking down at her hands. She watched as his fingers laced with hers and he knelt down in front of her, placing his lips against her fingers gently.
"You didn't ruin my life. We are in this together no matter what and we'll get through it. We're going to have a baby, and I'm going to love him as much as I love you."
A tear fell down Lora's cheek and splashed onto their hands, causing her to smile and look up at him. "Him huh? It's going to be funny naming a boy Sara."
Jesse narrowed his eyes, "No son of mine going to be named Sara.\ ass assured, causing Lora to laugh.
-present day-
"Are you ready to go?" Jesse asked, throwing a dirty rag into the trashcan beside Lora as he entered the shop.
"I think so. Mia, are you ready to close up?" Lora turned towards the back of the room where Mia was finishing up the last of Dom's paperwork - who nodded slightly and continued with her calculator.
"Come on you've been on your feet all day." Jesse assured, taking Lora's hand as she told Mia goodnight.
"There's supposed to be a race this Friday. I told Dom to sign me up. I think I'm racing someone on Hector's team.."
They walked towards Jesse's Mustang slowly, hand in hand. "Maybe you shouldn't race, Jess. I know we need the money but it's not safe."
"We need the money though. I was looking it up on the Internet the other night while you were sleeping and just the hospital bills alone cost a fortune.."
Lora sighed, knowing that they did need all the money they could get to support this baby... but she was getting worried about Jesse racing.
She nodded slightly, accepting his answer as he opened her car door.
"Come on, we'll go somewhere and relax."
