The Challenge answered

The hour passed, and in front of the throne stood Kylie, armed with only a pair of curved knives. She wore a tight tank top and pants, her feet bare, with her hair held back in braids.

Dame Vaako wore a tight bodysuit, gold in color and decorated with the scales. She wore her hair piled on top of her head, twisted in some elaborate style. She held a curved sword that she needed both hands to hold.

Lord Vaako stood beside Riddick, who sat silently on the throne. He wore his goggles so it was hard to tell what he was looking at.

“Let it begin.” Vaako stated, his voice sounding out through the crowded hall that suddenly grew silent.

Kylie made no pretense of bowing in honor of her opponent, hers had none. She circled the woman slowly, the people around them backing up to give them room.

She drew her blades across each other, watching each twitch of the woman’s muscles. She didn’t fall for it when the woman feinted to one side, and was waiting there as she attacked, slamming her elbow into her foe’s ribs. She grunted as she felt the hilt of the sword hitting her thigh, but blocked the pain from her mind as she launched herself through the air, landing on her feet behind the woman.

Kylie stood there, waiting for her to get close enough, and spun, her braids flying out, the small blades she had tied into the ends drawing gashes across Dame Vaako’s face, causing blood to drip down the woman’s neck.

“Foul!” She tried shouting.

“There is no foul in this challenge woman, this is by your kind’s rules, There is no foul..” Stepping forward, she punched her in the stomach, “There is no mercy.”

As she backhanded her hard enough to throw Dame Vaako into the crowd. “AND THIS ENDS IT!”

With a snarl she launched herself over their heads, only to be met with the sword gashing her across the side before she landed in a crouch. She didn’t feel it, though she was vaguely aware of the sensation of the blood flowing down her side.

Her blades flashed as she spun and struck, slash after slash in what looked like an attack of fury and anger. Kylie, however, was far from angry, she had reached a sort of plateau in her mind, with the adrenaline and other factors, she felt no pain, and was actually very calm. She was pressing her attack on and on to make her foe make a mistake, and to wear her down. The clash of metal was loud in the chamber, sparks flying from the metal as it ground together.

Dame Vaako was backed into a corner. She desperately lashed out, swinging the sword this way and that, the heft of the weapon draining her strength. Kylie didn’t let up, ignoring the cuts she received, pressing the woman’s back into the corner until she had knocked the sword from her hands.

She shrieked as Kylie hit her, blades slashing across her stomach and sides. Kylie threw the blades well out of her reach and struck her barehanded, splitting her lip and blackening her eye.

As Dame Vaako slumped, she didn’t stop, pounding her fists into the woman’s stomach and ribs. At last she stopped when she heard the cracking of bone and her foe was unconscious against the wall.

She dragged the unconscious form back, lifting the prone form of the larger woman and presenting it to Lord Vaako, before looking at Riddick.

“It is finished. She has lost.”

Taking a deep painful breath, she fell to the floor unconscious.
