Chapter 22

A/N: I know that it has been a while since I last posted, but I am doing the best I can between 12 hour shifts and other projects taking up my attention and time. Thank you for your patience.

Reginald Simmons swallowed hard. He avoided eye/optic contact with the dark mech that watched him like a spider would examine a fly caught in its web. The two hot coals stared out at him from the grotesque collection of angles that made up the face of Galvetron. Only now, as the fearsome amalgamation of metal and nightmare that was the leader of the Decepticons spelled out what his next moves were going to be, did Simmons understand what he was. It seemed like a forever ago that he had thought of himself as the overly clever and unrewarded hero of the events of a year ago. But now, staring at the crowning jewel of Galvetron's plans did Simmons see what he had done.

He was a fool. A self-righteous, egotistical and proudly blind fool. And he was more sane than the others in the hollowed out cave with him. The men and women who crowded space within the confines of Mammoth cave were here for their own reasons. Though they were alike in that each of their reasons boiled down to greed. The Lord of the Decepticons had promised riches and power to people who already held riches and power far exceeding those of the wealthiest nations. Bankers and Bureaucrats, Barons and Billionaires; each wanted a piece of the new power that was about to make the world its oyster. And he had only to ask them to swear fealty only to him, and they agreed. It took several long, tense seconds for Simmons to do the same. He had no choice, he had thrown his lot in with what he had thought was the winning side. As the others chanted their loyalty as enthusiastically as a high school glee club, Simmons wondered if these people actually cared about their fellow humans. He wondered if they cared that they had just made a pact to sacrifice nearly two-thirds of the Earth's population to this demon.

In the end, Simmons had to admit that deep down, he didn't care either. His own objections stemmed from his not wanting to be punished should the rest of the planet take their revenge. But like the rest of the eager participants, he cared not who made war as long as he got his share of the spoils.

The couple basking in the solitude of the early evening smiled as Chromia's good news was relayed to them by a slightly inebriated Ironhide. Apparently the mech saw fit to drink the base dry in celebration of his sparkling. Optimus just hoped that Ironhide was reduced to a giddy stupor instead of the rambunctious, vulgar but unintentionally disruptive 'drunk' that he normally turned into. He looked back into Ellie's optics as she thumped him on his forehead with her index finger. She was still leaning forward on his chest, resting her chin on the tops of her hands as she watched Optimus return his attention to the present. "So...top or bottom?" Ellie grinned at the perplexed look on Optimus' face. "Does it matter if the...femme is on top or bottom?" Again Optimus gazed at her quizzically. Ellie sighed, "I mean to complete the Spark Bond. Is there a certain position or is it done any ole way?"

Optimus chuckled, finely understanding Ellie's question. He thanked Primus again for his spark-mate's lack of subtly. Though most would take this as a lack of tact, he thought it a blessing since he knew that the complex and subtle nature of both human and Cybertronian female speech perplexed him almost to madness. He attributed this to her raising. Her father was much like Ironide, her mother; like Chromia. Neither, he had observed, had any patience for 'dithering', 'small-talk' or as he had heard once; 'Dicking around'. Both were straight to the point, using as few words as possible to say as much as possible and leaving nothing to the imagination or misinterpretation. Though he had to mentally shake himself slightly. Did she just ask what he thought she asked? He focused on her optics, lowering his voice an octave. "Are you certain? There is no going back."

Ellie had figured as much. She may have not understood all the ins and outs of Cybertronian bonding, but she did have enough of a head on her shoulders to understand that this was no where near the human ritual of marriage. It wasn't even on the same planet as marriage. Many humans treated marriage as a license to sleep with their crush of the month, breaking the vows when ever it hampered their social lives or if they were too shallow to realize that conflict was par for the course. She had no delusions about handsome princes pulling her up on a white horse and riding with her toward the sunset. High school had been her bucket of cold water. However - she understood enough to know that what Optimus offered was far and away superior to what she had experienced previously. He offered her nothing more than everything he could give.

Ellie smiled, tracing a digit over Optimus' mouth plates. She chuckled when the mech below her shivered slightly at the caress. "Any more certain and I would have just jumped your bones." The expression made Optimus laugh, his appreciation for her humor increasing. He was also quite sure she would have done exactly as she said if she were a native Cybertronian. That thought alone excited him because once they were bonded, she would most likely do exactly that. Oh, the possibilities.

Ellie relaxed as she allowed Optimus to reverse their positions as he laid her gently onto the ground, his optics never leaving hers. "For more experienced couples, it can be in any position they choose. However," he smiled as he traced the seam of her thoracic armor from her throat to her mid-section, smiling as she shivered beneath him. "since you are inexperienced," his fingers ghosted over either side of her, finding the point of connection for her door wings and tracing around them. "and I am out of practice," Ellie gasped as his fingers traced their way down her spine to her hips. "this position will be adequate for both of us." Ellie didn't process his last words as his fingers started their slow pleasurable torment of her hip joints, finding their way into the sensory wires and nudging several nodes nearly at the same time. She still had the instinct to grind against his hand, however it was quite impossible to do so with her hips constructed as they were. Her spine was not as flexible as a human's, though she hardly missed it.

Optimus broke optic contact to lower his head and gently use his mouth plates to 'bite' the armor around her neck and shoulders. He was careful not to mar her paint. Bonding or not, Ratchet would still bitch for hours. Though he began to think that this was getting a bit one sided until Ellie dipped her fingers into a gap in his armor just above his hips. She found several power cables and sensory wires there, still sensitive from the repairs after her rescue. Searching close to his spine, she found several nodes buried deep in the bundles and gave them all attention with her fingers moving in an undulating pattern much like if she were playing a piano. Optimus stopped what he was doing and snapped his head up, mouth plates forming an 'O'. The deep, needy groan from him made Ellie grin and she continued much the same way up and down Optimus' spine, her fingers moving in the same way.

It had been an obscenely long time since he had been with a femme, and Optimus was fighting to not just open their spark chambers and sate his own desire. He wanted to make this good for her, however the smug grin she was giving him got him thinking that foreplay was over-rated. She had given him her permission to bond and that was exactly what he was going to do. With a hiss and the clatter of shifting metal, Optimus exposed his own spark chamber and leaned in close. Without thought, Ellie did the same, feeling the sudden vulnerability of having something so personal exposed. It felt like being naked in public. Then Optimus lowered his body until their armor locked into place and all thoughts of vulnerability were burnt away. Their sensory networks were merged together and for a moment, there was no difference between Ellie and Optimus. Their minds were in one body, their sparks merging until there was only one being laying on the rocky ground under a darkening sky. Each knew and felt what the other did, though there was a third entity just on the periphery of their awareness. It was them, yet it was bigger, older and it was pleased.

Then their sparks settled back into their respective bodies, the locks holding their bodies together releasing and that presence faded into a distant memory. Optimus lifted his head, watching as Ellie smiled serenely at him. Then he shifted his body against hers and her serene smile became one of surprise. He shifted again and she gasped, her arms holding him tighter against her as he straddled her hips and slowly began moving against her. The three toes on her feet nearly curled as her hands gripped the mech above her. Optimus touched his forehead to hers and continued in a steady rhythm, never breaking optic contact. The tempo increased and their quiet gasps became deep moans, their intakes made them sound like two jet engines in close proximity. Neither of them noticed the dark clouds pouring in from the north or the cold wind as the Blue Northern came roaring in with rain cold enough to feel like ice cubes. The drops steamed as they fell on the two bodies writhing together on the ground. The thunder rumbling overhead was no match for either of their voices as they continued to rise in volume.

As they drove each other closer to climax, Ellie felt something familiar curling in her abdomen. Though instead of racing downward as it had when she was human, it raced upward until it enveloped her spark chamber in white hot fire. Her uncertainty vanished as she realized what was happening. Her mouth opened in surprise as her cries rose in pitch until her head snapped back, lifting Optimus above her as her spine bowed as her spark exploded in blue fire. Her overload pushed the mech above her into his own as waves of electricity skittered between their joined bodies and over their armor as they rode the incredible pleasure until its end.

Quiet alarms were going off in Ellie's periphery alerting her to a dangerous spike in her core temperature and low energy levels. Steam rose from both of their bodies as the rain continued to fall, aiding in the cooling of their internals. Their intakes still worked over time, though the alarms trilling ceased just before Ellie's systems began an emergency shut-down to conserve power. Optimus smiled as though he was proud of himself. Apparently, a mech pleasuring a femme into shut down was quite a complement. Ellie chuckled softly as her optics dimmed and she powered down.

Ratchet snapped his head up as his remote sensors picked up a dangerous spike in Ellie's and Optimus' core temperatures. The sudden storm had brought an end to the outdoor picnic, though the humans had improvised and now ate under the pavilion Optimus normally used to recharge under. Ratchet narrowed his optics, the alarms for their core temperatures had ceased and now Ellie was shutting down from low energy. It took him a few moments until understood what he was reading. The scowl on his face turned into a genuine smile. "About damned time," he muttered, shaking his head. He sent a quick message to Chromia who sent a grin back toward him. She was listening to Ironhide turn into his own creator, telling stories to a few of the humans of the places he had been and battles he had fought in. Though, unlike his creator, he slipped in when he had found time in the middle of a battle to drag Chromia off and set the surrounding vegetation on fire.

Ratchet chuckled to himself and got a space ready in his temporary facility to accomodate Ellie when Optimus trusted his legs enough to carry the both of them. He just hoped that this would not be a common occurance, unless of course she did it to Optimus. Now that would be trully amusing.
