First steps
Really short chapter because im getting back into the groove of things but im definatly going to kepp em' coming
The doors creaked open and air that was much colder then she was used to filled in around her. She felt her skin prickle. Following Riddick's instructions she went out first.
"Wait." Riddick put a hand on her shoulder. She turned to him with what she assumed was a quizzical look on her face.
"Yeah?" She cocked an eyebrow slightly annoyed at him for thinking now was the time for conversation. Certainly it could wait?
"You might need this when things start to get fun." He held his clenched fist outstretched towards her. Confused she held her hand out to receive what he wanted to give her.
A small delicate circle fell into her palm. Her eyes widened. This was the hair tie that Altos had given her, she thought that she had lost it when she was bathing. And he had it, her eyes felt prickly and hot, but she was strong enough to hold back tears.
"Thank you Riddick…. Thank you." She artfully began twisting her hair into a high bun, she didn’t have time for her customary braid. She silently told her self she needed to thank him better when the were out of this shithole.
She set off out the doors once more and this time no one stopped her. They all walked out of the elevator and the only steps that could be heard belonged to Grayson.
