CHAPTER 24: REVEALED

Coco and Lisa just stand there trying to figure out what Eva means.
"Your going back to Jersey?" Coco repeats just in case she heard her wrong. Eva nods.
"For what?" Lisa asks, sounding upset. Eva takes a seat next to them, she knows this isn't going to be easy to explain.
"Erica mightin din danger. I started this mess in Jersey and I'm gonna end it in Jersey"
"But you can't leave now, your in no condition and what about us and Dom" Lisa says standing up, standing in frontEva.Eva.
"Lisa..... you, Coco and Mini are grown women, you guys can do without me for a while, I have to do this." Eva hopes they can understand her motives. Just then Mini walks back in and catches their attention.
"Here comes trouble" Coco says in Mini's direction. Mini simply rolls her eyes and looks at Eva.
"She's planning on going back to Jersey" Lisa informs Mini.
"Well I'm going with you" Mini's voice was stern but Eva won't have it.
"No you're not. I need you here, your gonna be eyes down here" Eva gets up and grabs her keys.
"Fine, then I'll help you pack" Mini turns to go to the car.
"Lisa see if you can find tickets for the earliest fl to to Newark airport. I want to leave by tomorrow. No word to this to Dom until I get back" she walks out and goes to her apartment with Mini. She packs lightly. After all she still has clothes at her moms house.
"Are you sure you want do this alone" Mini still trying to convince her to let her go.
"Yes...... Mini you have to get Oscar out of jail, he's innocent. Once I get to Jersey I'll wire you the money." they stay silent and head back home.
That night, after the guys get home they are all watching 'The Queen of the Damned'. There's a knock at the door and Jesse, being the closest opens the door. Letty invites herself in and all eyes are on her.
"What's up Let?" Jesse says nervously and looks over to Dom, he nods his head telling Jesse it's OK. Dom cocks his head to sid side and raises an eyebrow in question.
"I came to see how Eva is doing" Letty says.
"Bullshit!" Mini stands up.
"Mini sit down, not in Dom's house" Eva's authority tone works for now. Mini sits back down huffing and puffing. Eva gets up slowly and walks outside and Letty follows. Dom knows Eva can handle Letty, they were both tough but Eva had a coolness about her that keeps her on top of things.
"Letty, now is not a good time" Eva says with her back turned to her.
"Can I ask you something?" Letty asks leaning on the banister. " Go ahead" Eva says
"Well, the word on the street is, you and this Blanca chick go way back. Does Dom know this?" Eva could tell by her tone she was threatening her in little words.
"Are you asking because your concerned about Dom not knowing or because you would like to be the one to inform him?" she knows Letty has hidden motives.
"I just don't want him to get hurt. I know Dom better than you ever will and trust me, he doesn't like to be deceived." her tone of voice was mocking as if to say Eva wasn't going to be around for long.
"Those aren't my intentions, now if you'll excuse me I'm going to finish watching the movie with MY Family, your welcome to join us if you'd like." Eva turns to go inside.
"I know you killed that girl" her voice was calm as if she had just commented on the weather. Eva turns around slowly anger flowing in her veins. Letty can tell the subject was a sour spot.
"Yeah, that's right. Blancas' sister, Leslie I know you pushed her off the roof of that building back in Jersey.... that's why you ended up here isn't it, your running" Lettys words were stabbing at Eva like daggers.
"You think you know the truth, but that's not what happened" Evas' stomach feels sick at the thought of Dom finding this out.
"Either way I'm sure Dom would like to know who he lays down with every night" Lettys tries to make her way inside but Eva puts her hand across the door.
"No! What do you want Letty?. Why did you really come here?" she knew Letty could of just told Dom in front of everyone but didn't. Letty takes a few steps back and grins.
"Leave Dom alone. Move back to your rat and roach infested ghetto. A murderer like you doesn't belong here" Eva smiles to herself, Letty's true colors were revealed but she wasn't going to give her the upper hand.
"Looks like your not giving me much of a choice. Fine I'll be out of here by morning" she turns and walks inside thinking to herself 'Sucker!'
Letty can't believe how easy that was but she wasn't going to argue with it and follows Eva inside. Somehow Mini and Eva avoid cutting each others throat during the night.
Eva feels tired and her and Dom go to his room. They are laying naked on the bed, he's stroking her hair and she's tracing his chest with her fingers, one of her favorite pass times.
"I want you to move in with me" he gets the words out quickly catching Eva off guard. She looks at him and ponders the question for a moment.
"Dom, there's something I have to tell you before I can even answer that question. There are things about me....things from my past that you don't know" she feels her body becoming cold.
"I've learned that the things that happened to us in the past should stay there. The only thing you should carry with you is the lesson..........I don't care what happened between you and Blanca" Eva looks at him in shock.
"You know?" she asks.
"Yeah, I did a little snooping around. I know about Leslie too" he knows she's involved although the whole story isn't clear to him.
"Why didn't you tell me?" she's offended for some reason unclear to her at the moment.
"I figured you would tell me when you were ready" Dom doesn't understand why she's getting upset. Eva sits on the bed and sighs. Dom strokes her bare back.
"I'm leaving to Jersey tomorrow" her heart hurts at the thought of leaving Dom. He sits up besides he and begins to kiss her shoulder in an attempt to let her know it's OK. He takes a deep breath and places his chin on her shoulder.
"Hmmm, I've never been to Jersey. A vacation huh?" he says acting like her comment had been a proposal.
"Dom..." she begins to protest but he grabs her into a deep kiss that melts her instantly. No more words are spoken as their passion for each other takes over. As they make love Dom holds her face in his hgentgently kissing her lips and eyes, the love they share is so deep tears escape Eva's eyes. Dom simply wipes them away with his thumb. They fall asleep without being aware of doing so.

Dom is still in bed and without opening his eyes, knows something is wrong. His body is cold, something he wasn't used to. He opens his eyes and sees she's gone.
