Ending

soho: Heh. Thanks. More here.

Earen: Glad I'm not forgotten. ;) Feel free to archive, just copy'n paste unless you need me t' mail or something.

ShadowSpirit: Got a few ideas for shorter stories after this, along with some focusing on the Pendulum, and one on Will's choice to join the Pearl. But the next one is that AU.

Datiye: Hmmm, between you and some of my friends, I'm starting to think that I might be physically harmed if I kill Jack...

Sanomi: Thanks! More here. And who knows what Jack's upto?

Insane Pineapple: Unfortunately, this ends soon. But I'm already getting to work on others. I updated late last night, and again early this morning (about two or so hours after). Everything's coming together now.

Sandrine Black: What means this word 'soc-ial-ize'? Anyway, if I can confuse just one person, I'm happy. Don't worry, I have several ideas to continue the little timeline I've created here, and the AU's in the works. :)

Nita: Yay! I can look you up now! Guess the title doesn't really matter agter all. ;) *goes through new bag of lollies* Heehee, dog was the key keeper. Eh-heh, so, are you the Morgan that hung all those other pirates then? Don't do sex slaves, just tasteless to me. Well, not that it doesn't get mentioned. ;)

Mel: Plans always seem to work out when Jack Sparrow has something t' do with them. ;)

"We're rasvals, scoundrels, villains and knaves..."

"Jack, why the hell are you singin' that bloody song?" Anamaria muttered, trying to block out the voice.

"Not me, mate," Jack said, the grin evident in his voice. "You should know that voice by now."

Anamaria sat up, blinking in the light from the rising sun. "The parrot?"

Will pulled out of Jack's embrace, standing on the ledge to look through the window. "The Pearl's out there, out of range and almost hidden."

Jack smiled, "All in th' plan, love."

Jack pulled Will onto his lap and kissed the younger man. "Behave."

The sound of footsteps brought them all to their feet and several guards came in with Bootstrap. True to his words, Jack left without a fuss; suffering himself to be led to the gallows. As soon as the guards were gone with Jack, Bootstrap opened the cells.

"This key," he said, taking the ring from Anamaand and holding one key aside; "Will open the door across the courtyard from the gallows. I've seen the Pearl out there and found two of the crew."

"What's yer plan?" Gibbs asked.

"You two go make sure that door stays open and clear. It'll take us to the cliff face beneath the bell. Tearlach and Cotton are waiting with three boats, one for them and two for you four to share."

Ana took the keys back, "Which way?"

Bootstrap indicated the flight of stairs leading further into the fort. "You two are going that way. You'll find it easily enough; just follow the breeze."

The two nodded and hurried off, Anamaria taking a glance to make sure Will was okay. Convinced Bootstrap wasn't going to set them into a trap, she followed Gibbs down the passage.

Will turned to Bootstrap, "What do we do?"

"I've been told you have an interesting talent for throwing knives and swords, we'll need that."

Will smiled, grabbing his own sword and dagger from where they had been placed on the wall before following Bootstrap. The two guards lay unconscious on either side of the door.

"They won't let you go after you're caught," Will said. "Why are you risking getting on the blacklist of the British courts?"

"As much as I hate to say it, Jack is a good man," Bootstrap smiled slightly at his son when they stopped at a corner. "And I thought about it; he cares about you. That, and he would have found a way to do something like this anyway."

"That he would," Will saw the crowd assembled and the page reading Jack's list of crimes. "What do we do?"

Bootstrap frowned, looking over the courtyard. Elizabeth, Norrington (looking far too smug for his own good), and Governor Swann stood on a little dias in the concave of a wall. He saw a seemingly calculating look flash across Elizabeth's face and wondered what she was up to. Turning, he saw the discrete door across the courtyard open slowly and caught a glimpse of Anamaria.

"Can you get across to them without being seen?"

Will looked over the courtyard, judging possible paths before nodding. Bootstrap smiled.

"Good," he handed Will a dagger. "Aim for the executioner. I'll get Jack. Just keep that path clear."

Will nodded, starting to move quickly. He smiled as he turned back to Bootstrap. "Jack was right, you are a good man."

Leaving before Bootstrap could reply, Will kept close to the wall and ducked behind the door. Bootstrap walked out to the courtyard, stopping in front of the dias and bowing slightly.

"Commodore, you are needed in the jail. The prisoners have gotten the keys," Bootstrap's eyes met Elizabeth's. "They've escaped."

Norrington frowned, "And just how did they get the keys?"

Bootstrap raised an eyebrow, "You gave them to a dog, in a plactterttered with bones."

Glaring at the man, Norrington bowed to the Governor. "If you'd excuse me?"

Glancing at the smirking Jack, Bootstrap saw Will readying the dagger. The sentence was still being read and Jack was starting to look bored. He turned back to the dias and saw Swann completely taken with the procedings. Moving next to Elizabeth, Bootstrap trained his eyes on the door that Norrington had left through, knowing it wouldn't take long for the Commodore's return.

"Don't get your hands dirty, lass," Bootstrap said quietly. "I'll take care of it."

Elizabeth narrowed her eyes, "You're the one that sent Jack here."

"And I'm the one getting him out," Bootstrap nodded to the door and Elizabeth smiled and gave over her dagger, slipping it into Bootstrap's hand.

"I'll create a diversion."

"Do it fast, lass."

"Captain Turner!" Norrington started to storm over. The Commodore never finished as everything seemed to stop when the executioner fell from the platform. True to her word, Elizh drh drew most attention to herself, faking hysterics as soon as it became apparent the man was dead.

Bootstrap ran past Norrington and to the platform, pushing the page to the crowd before the young man could draw his sword or pistol. Quickly cutting Jack's bonds, Bootstrap smiled.

"This is the last time, Jack."

Jack grinned, "You Turners are always sayin' that."

They jumped down, making for the door. Jack grinned at Will, "Told you I had it all under control, love."

Anamaria smacked his arm and the five started off. There were a few guards, but easily gotten rid of. Cotton and Tearlach had already started a lea leaving two small boats. Anamaria immediately got in one, grabbing the oars and pulling Gibbs in with her. Will looked at Bootstrap while Jack moved to lock the door from the outside.

"Are you coming?"

Glancing at Jack, Bootstrap nodded, "At least until Tortuga."

Jack got into the remaining boat, "As much as I love this quaint little town; time t' be off."

Bootstrap sighed, "You had this all planned out, didn't you."

Jack just grinned.

*************

Norrington was furious, pacing the room e Ele Elizabeth watched, slightly amused. "How!? How could this happen?"

Smiling as she stood, Elizabeth started towards the door. "You forget, love."

"And what's that?"

"He's Captain Jack Sparrow."
