Chapter 24
Chapter 24/32
PARTING IS SUCH SWEET SORROW
It took Venom a full week to wake up. She was a little hazy at first. Her parents were in the room and were very happy. Only the Grace of God brought her back to them. The doctor gave her a full check up. She was given a clean bill of heath but they wanted to keep her for another week. They wanted to make sure that her bullet wound would heal properly.
They called Razure and asked him to come over. They knew he was very much in love with Venessa and her feelings were mutual. He would come to see her everyday before work. He would sit and talk to her although he had gotten no response. He prayed that she was somehow listening to him. Apparently, she had been because his name was graced by her full lips when she woke up.
Dev tried to see her but was banned from the hospital. Her little tirade just didn’t sit well with St. Annes. Her mumsy and dadsy tried to convince them otherwise but to no avail. Although they loved her like a daughter, they knew she had crossed the line big time. They tried to talk to her on one occasion and that’s when they found out she was a Vampire. After learning that, they didn’t try again. Being so destructive and a vampire was a double threat…that Venessa didn’t need at the time.
Beth tried to call but they weren’t accepting them. Venom’s parents found out that she was indirectly the cause behind it all. They understood that she was so very remorseful and she didn’t mean to cause them any pain. They just thought it best for Venessa and Beth to sever all ties for the time being.
Viper, well Viper did what he did best…cause trouble. He was still very angry over the situation. One night, he paid his loving cousin, Stryker, a visit. He confronted him about what TK said. Surprisingly, Stryker owned up to everything and then some. He told Viper that he hated him ever since he hooked up with Dev. Not only did he lose his girl but he lost her to his own cousin. It was too much for him to take so he got even. He noticed that TK wasn’t really happy taking orders from Viper. He used that and pumped TK’s ego up to the fullest. He told TK that he would make a much better leader than Viper any day of the week. Being so naïve back then, he bought it hook, line, and sinker. That was Stryker’s strike out at Viper. He lost his best friend of 18 years over that.
The next morning, Stryker’s new girlfriend found him unconscious at his apartment. Unfortunately for him, it was just a little too late and he didn’t make it. The cops never found out who beat lil Stryker to death. They filed the case as “Karma at its finest.”
Razure had forgiven Beth during that week. He knew that she was very remorseful about everything. They were colleagues as well and they needed to remain civil at least there. Plus they were good friends. He mos def wasn’t ready to take their relationship back to friend status and she understood.
Dev moved out of her parents’ house. They were already upset about Venessa but Dev went and broke their hearts. She told them that she was now a vampire and would be moving in with her sire, Lestat. Of course they were mortified by the news. Not only did she tell them what she was but she had fully succumbed to her dark side and that scared the hell out of them. So, in a way they were grateful for her departure.
Her relationship with Lestat was on the rocks. Even he tried to tell her that her behavior was too extreme. He understood her need to release that negative energy but she replaced it with more negativity…just not good. He realized that she used her sadness as an excuse to just cause total mayhem in Holland.
She started harassing Beth at Club Deep. She told the whole tragic story to anyone who would listen…namely Beth’s boss. He kicked her out on the spot and told her not to come back. But she defied him in the worse way. She came back the next night and started a feeding frenzy, killing two college kids. They called the cops but of course DeepToothDev didn’t stay around for that reunion.
Beth couldn’t take it anymore and just up and quit. Not only was she responsible for Nessa’s tragedy but also the deaths of two kids. Razure tried to talk some sense into her but she didn’t listen to him. He realized that it probably was for the best.
Beth and Nessa both gained their freedom the following week, on Friday. Beth headed for L.A. that day. She never succeeded in seeing or talking to Nessa before she left.
Venom asked about her as she was released from St. Annes. Her parents told her that it was for the best that they discontinue their friendship. After all that had happened, Nessa never ever blamed Beth. She knew it was just an accident that she took part in herself. She also asked about Dev. They were more hesitant about discussing her but told her the truth. She was sired by Lestat and was purely evil now.
Nessa was utterly shattered. Her friends, her girls, and her sistas were gone. The only light that shined her way was Razure. They both registered at the University for the following year. When they turned 21, they got married. The following year, Mrs. Venessa Devere gave birth to a beautiful babygirl. Her name is Raven “Bev” Devere.
Beth’s flight to L.A, went smoothly. She had to get used to the “Cali Ways”…totally different than Holland. She caught a cab and asked them about the nearest hotels around. They took her to “Angel Investigations.” She was in awe over how huge the hotel was. She later found out that it wasn’t the “usual” hotel. One of Doyle’s visions clued her in. Ironically, the vision was of Slater. Doyle was the first seer among the clan. Sadly, he died in a very heroic way. To save Cordy, Angel and others, he sacrificed his life. Before he leaped to his death, he kissed Cordy and passed on his connection to The Powers That Be.
Beth was so in awe over it all and asked could she join in on the party. They thought she was crazy but let her come anyway. It so happened that Beth caught the “Big Bad” first and ultimately saved Slater’s life. The rest is history… even better her-story!!!
LUCRECIA’S SECRET
“You actually called Stokley? How did you pull that off?” Xai asked.
“I found away to fix my cellcom yesterday. He and his men are on their way now! They’ve been on this God forsaken rock too long. This mission of ours just took too dayum long. We thought Shine’s warped a$$ was going down then he goes and does this. It just set the plan back a few paces. It’s taken until now to construct Plan B. It just wasn’t in our people’s best interest to strike back then. But Now…It’s On!!”

“Hi, I’m Stokley!! I think y’all have met my wife “Lucrecia”…hahaha. Oops I meant Styles. Lucrecia is just an alias she uses from time to time. This Shine psycho has messed with my people, the Nietzschean’s, for the last time. This Time He’s Going Down…And For Good!!”
