AN1: Hello lovelies! So, several people requested a follow-up to last week's story and I didn't really see a problem with that. Then RL appeared and kicked my ass, hard. We had test week this week so I had several cram-sessions, then since the tests only take a few hours I had to work immediately after school the entire week. Also I had the most insane writer's block but that was probably because of the stress school gave me. Now I didn't want to give you people a rushed little lemon so I've decided to slip this into two parts, this part (which is relatively tame) and the part you'll get next week which has the naughty parts. I apologize for the delay in fic but it was either this or nothing at all. So enjoy what I have so far and check back next week for the rest. Bye!
P.S. The chapter title is 'Dinner for two' which is what me and my friends always say when referring to position 69. Guess what HB and John are going to be doing next week? ;P
000 Dinner pt. 1 000
John paced the length of Hellboy's room in an agitated manner, stopping just a foot short of the wall before turning around to march back to the point where he'd started, just like he'd been doing for the past five minutes or so. To say things were currently a little awkward for John would be quite the understatement, it would actually be pretty accurate to say this day had to be the most embarrassing day of the young agent's life. All he'd wanted was to resolve an obvious miscommunication between him and his charge but instead things had only gotten worse, now he'd consider himself lucky if he was ever able to look at the demon again without the image of the other climaxing with a shout of John's name popping into his head. He was just happy that Hellboy was in the bathroom at the moment, cleaning up the mess his
activities had left behind, and couldn't see him pacing the room while muttering to himself like an insane-asylum escapee.
The agent collapsed on Hellboy's couch, sick of pacing the room again and again, but unable to sit still. Crossing and uncrossing his legs, drumming his fingers on his knees, feet tapping the floor in a jittery motion, some part of him was always moving and it was annoying the hell out of him. Forcing himself to sit still John crossed his arms over his chest and set his feet firmly on the ground, unfortunately the stillness only lasted for a few seconds before his fingers were back to tapping nervously on his arm. Letting out a sound of frustration John threw his arms up and tried to focus his attention elsewhere, at least that way it would be easier not to notice when random body parts went off to do their thing without his permission again. He scanned his eyes over the coffee table, taking in the large amount of cans and empty food cartons and though he considered tidying up he decided against it as he was still, technically, on break time. Looking away from the messy coffee table his eyes settles instead on the chair Hellboy had been occupying earlier as a blush instantly lit up his face.
God, why did he have to walk in on
that of all things? He couldn't have opened the door to find the demon working out or taking a nap like he usually did, no he had to interrupt his charge during his 'private time'. Just thinking about the demon, hand stroking his erect privates and face contorted with pleasure, was enough to make the blood rush from his face down to his cock, his member twitching to life in his pants even as his eyes widened in shock. Oh, this was so
not happening to him, nuh uh, no way, not in a million years would he get aroused by the thought of another man (one he worked with on a daily basis no less) jerking off!
And yet… he couldn't deny he'd been… intrigued when he'd stumbled upon that particular scene and he hadn't exactly looked away either even though he knew he should have. John was pretty sure he wasn't the only person in the world to have ever walked in on another man's private time but that didn't justify his blatant staring, even if it had been mostly due to shock. Hellboy probably thought he was a pervert now, the kind that got off on watching other people without them knowing they were there. John wasn't like that though, even if he had sorta been staring he hadn't meant to do it, and he didn't want his charge thinking he was some kind of creeper.
John groaned, cradling his head in his hands as his fingers dug into his hair. Everything was just so messed up and at this point it was starting to look like things would never go back to normal again. He'd have to find another job or maybe request a transfer to some far-away place like Antarctica, never able to return for fear of embarrassment.
The agent lifted his head some, peeking through the gaps between his fingers as he considered that last thought. He could do that right now actually, just go to Manning, make the request and pack up his stuff before Hellboy even realized he was gone, never to be seen again. As appealing as it sounded to take the easy way out he knew he couldn't though, there were so many things, so many people, he'd be leaving behind if he did. Liz, Abe, Clay, the list went on and, of course, there was Hellboy. Sure, their current relationship might be heading for a bit of a rough patch but as far as friends went Hellboy was definitely one of his closest and he didn't want to have to give that friendship up, not for anything in the world.
Looking up John let his hands fall from his face, leaning his chin on them instead as he folded them accordingly. Hellboy sure was taking awfully long to clean up now that he thought about it. Maybe he was just like John and had locked himself in his bathroom to freak out or perhaps he was trying to come up with a way to escape without his liaison noticing. The agent chuckled, he wouldn't be surprised if the demon had already made an attempt to escape though the air vent or something. Hell, he wouldn't even be all that surprised if he'd
succeeded.
Considering the odds of Hellboy successfully making his way through the BPRD's ventilation system John figured the demon could make it half-way through at most before he'd get stuck. Making a mental note of all the butter they were going to need to get his charge out again John was taken by surprise when the door to the bathroom suddenly opened and Hellboy appeared, no hint of an attempt to crawl through a much too tight ventilation shaft anywhere on his person. His charge looked prim and proper once again now that he was no longer covered in his own fluids (for which the agent was grateful) though the fact that there was not a single trace of an emotion on the demon's face worried him.
Hellboy's eyes locked with his, the usually warm gold now hard and cold, before making his way over to him in complete and utter silence. His charge dropped back down in his TV chair, elbows coming to rest on leather clad knees as fingers twined together to cover the lower half of the demon's face, making those expressionless eyes pop out in a way that was almost creepy. John's entire body was tense as the other simply stared at him, feeling like a bug underneath a magnifying glass as the silence grew thick in the air around them.
It was unnerving how different this silence was from the usual comfortable silences that hung between them, it was almost like they'd gone back to square one, back to when John wasn't sure what to expect and Hellboy didn't trust him yet. Sure, things had been more than a little tense between them these last few weeks but even then the occasional silence had been nothing like this, this was like sitting in a waiting room filled with total strangers who were all openly staring at you while you just couldn't figure out why.
One thing was sure though, John didn't like it and he wanted it to end.
"Are you just going to sit there or are you actually going to say something?" John snapped, surprising himself as the words came tumbling out without his say-so the moment he opened his mouth. Hellboy's expression (or rather, expressionless-ness if that was even a word) didn't change though which made the agent wonder if his charge had even heard him or if he was still ignoring him.
"I'm fine with sitting here, thanks." Hellboy mumbled after several long seconds as John frowned at the response. So, that was how the demon wanted to play it, eh? Just pretend nothing was wrong and hope their problems would simply go away on their own if they just ignored them. Too bad that wasn't going to happen.
John sighed as he crossed his arms over his chest and gave his charge a pointed look. "We have to talk about this, HB." He stated, receiving his first real reaction from the other in the form of an undignified snort followed by an eye roll.
"No, actually, we don't." Hellboy bit back, the tone of his voice saying; 'you had better drop this soon before I break you like a couple of twigs'. John wasn't intimidated though, he knew the demon would never hurt him, at least not intentionally.
"This isn't just about you, you know." John said, referring to the private session he had stumbled upon earlier even as Hellboy narrowed his eyes at him.
"You think I don't know that?" The demon snapped at him, an annoyed sound escaping his throat as he stood from his chair, turning his back to the agent. John heard his charge inhale, pause for a second, and then exhale again before turning back to face him, brows set in a heavy frown.
"Why do you think I tried so hard to hide this from you? Because I didn't want to drag you into this, that's why." Hellboy half yelled, half growled at him, most of his annoyance focused on the fact that John didn't seem to realize he didn't want to talk about this, not now and not ever. John, though, wasn't willing to let this go because he had to make the demon understand that he was already very much involved in this because it was
his name the demon had uttered during the throes of passion.
"Well, like it or not, HB, but I've officially been dragged in and I'm not leaving before we talk." The agent declared, standing up as well so he could see eye to eye with his charge. Hellboy stared him down, or tried to, at least, but John refused to give in until, after what seemed like hours but couldn't have been longer than twenty seconds, the demon let out a defeated sigh.
"Fine!" Hellboy groaned, collapsing back down in his chair like the weight of the world was on his shoulders. John followed. "Talk."
