Dark Secrets, Bright Lights

AN: Ok Everyone... Here we go. Now, like at the end of my last chapter, I am warning people things are going to get dark. And not just because it is almost 8 o’clock here either *smiles* but because that’s just the way life is... at least in my story world.

Chapter 26

Evil. While some people swear that evil doesn’t roam the Earth, it does lurk in the Underground. Evil may not be useful to some people and it may not even be useful to anyone, accept one lonely soul that burned with a passion. A passion for revenge. Some people don’t know what kind of evil exists in this world, they live their lives oblivious to the fact that it may be walking right next to them. In this case, it flew high in the night sky, thinking, scheming... plotting.

Micheal smiled as the wing blew along his long neck and over his scaly body. He blinked his eyes slowly, letting them flutter slowly open as he continued his night prowl over his lands. Sure there were things that needed to be taken care of and sure there were matters that may have needed to be tended to, but he didn’t care. He needed to feel the cool rush of the night air against his face, needed to refresh his soul, as well as his mind. He needed to clear his head so that no thoughts, accept the most devious and atrocious found their way into his thoughts.

*Death. Death is so over rated.*

He sighed as he circled the tallest tower of his castle.

*Some people do not deserve the right to take such an easy way out.*

He landed with silence and grace.

*Keh. No one should be granted the right to die. Suffering, now that should be required no matter who you are, or what your life style was.*

He strained a little as he changed back into his fae form. His eyes taking a little longer to grow from their slitted form to the regular circle. He stretched and let the kinks leave his body before walking into the room at the top of the tall tower.

“So many people get the easy way out. So many people don’t know what it is like to,” he breaths in slow and traces his finger down the side of a young man’s face, “feel.”

The unconscious man shivered as if he was still aware, his soul seemed to stir lividly inside his body. Micheal smiled as the boys eyes fluttered open and he gasped in a little.

“Micheal, I didn’t know you had returned.”

Micheal bent down and kissed the boys forehead. “Not to worry, my young one.”

“I have finished what you asked.” The boy said climbing to his feet and stretching like a cat. “It was not easy to get, but no one noticed I was even there. I just sat on the window sill the whole time and watched the,” the boys eyes lit with sparks of fire, “events take place.”

“Did she dance with anyone else?”

The boy looked at him and tilted his head. “Who?”

“Both of them.”

The boy grinned evilly, one that almost rivaled Micheal’s. “You should have seen what your brother’s bitch did.”
Micheal raised a eyebrow in question.

“She took the three of them outside and when they came back... they were wearing Aboveground clothes and began to dance... to Aboveground music.”

Micheal smiled and laughed a little. “I bet Jareth’s mouth hit the floor. What a disgraceful little wench.”

“Actually,” the boy stood and shook his head, “he joined her on the floor and danced.”

“Unbelievable.” Micheal shook his head in disbelief.

“And then he took her hand in marriage.”

Micheal dropped the goblet he had conjured the moment before and as the red liquid sloshed over the stone floor, he swore.

“He took her hand?”

“Three days time, is when they are to be wed.”

“And I am only assuming she said ‘yes’?”

The boy shook his head and smiled. “He even took her to the after party.”

Micheal stared at the young boy and started to shake. “He is such a man whore.”

“I do agree.”

Micheal paced back and forth, watching his young boy closely. “You are not lying to me?”

“Would I?”

Micheal walked to him slowly and pulled him into a tight embrace. He kissed the top of his head softly and patted him on the back. “I have known you since you were but a year old, and I have tried to being you up as best as I can.”

The boy hugged him back and spoke softly. “You have done well.”

Micheal pulled away looking at the young man standing in front of him. He was a very attractive young man. His jet black hair was short and spiky, his eyes the brightest green you had ever seen. He was built like a god, his muscles lean and toned. He smiled, and if not for the tint of evil in it from being brought up by the meanest asshole the Underground had ever seen, he would light up the room.

“You will make a fine king one day.” Micheal smiled with satisfaction.

“None can be better than you.”

Micheal walked out of the tower, followed by the young. He shifted in place, preparing himself for his transformation.

“Is there anything else I can get for you?” The boy asked as he too changed. He shrank in size and when all that was left where the young one was standing was a black as night cat, Micheal shook his head.

“No, my young apprentice, nothing at the moment. Just be ready for the action.”

“Yes, my master.”

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Sarah could not believe how fast the three days had gone by. It seemed like just yesterday she was wallowing the glory of all the people fawning over her, all the hands all over her...

*Whoa Sarah, calm down.*

“Something wrong Sarah?”

Findore looked into the eyes of her best friend. She was staring over at nothing particular. Not too weird for Sarah, but her chest was starting to rise and fall faster.

“No, nothing.” Sarah said, finally calming herself down. “I was just thinking about how fast these last three days have gone and about the... well for lack of a better word, weird experiences.”

Findore smiled and helped Sarah tote the bags up to her room. “I know, things are kinda booking along, aren’t they?”
Sarah nodded in agreement. “Do things always move this fast in the Underground?”

“No, not always.” Findore answered setting the bags on the floor of her room. “Some people wait forever. Too long to tell the truth.” Findore’s eyes flashed with sorrow.

Sarah understood instantly and felt her heart break a little seeing her hurt for no reason. “Findore, you didn’t know.”

Findore broke down instantly, falling to her knees, tears and sobs racking her body. “If I would have listened to my heart instead of my lust, things would be so different.”

Sarah bent down and rubbed the girl she had come to love like a sister, on he back. “Hush now. Nothing you did was wrong.
Everyone makes mistakes. I, for one, am grateful you turned him down. I never would have come into this world if you hadn’t.”

Findore shook her head. “I should leave. I don’t need to be here weighing you guys down.”

Sarah stood up, pulling Findore’s broken body up with her. “Now that’s enough!” Sarah yelled, getting the fullest attention of even the goblins in the room. “You are not a bother here Findore! You are like my twin. You’re my best friend and I will not have you feeling sorry for things that are out of your control! Wake up! I love you, Findore. Nothing is going to change that. Jareth loves you too, and while it may not be the same kind of love as the years before, it is still genuine and real!”

Findore looked up into Sarah’s kind and gentle face. She inhaled and exhaled a couple of times, her eyes never leaving Sarah’s.
“You are a little spit fire huh?”

Sarah smiled and let go of the breath she was holding. Sarah knew she was strong, but she didn’t know if she could really take on her best friend. “That’s what I am told.”

Findore smiled back and pulled Sarah into a hug. “Come on, the wedding is in only 10 hours! You need to start getting ready!”

The girls smiled and jumped around in a circle. The bags were now empty and Sarah looked in amazement at all the stuff laid out in her room.

“My god, did we really by this much shit?”

“Necessary shit, and yes we did.”

Sarah stared around at the all the stuff and shook her head. A good portion of it was lingerie. Sarah blushed a little as she remembered the bachelorette party. She didn’t know a lot of the women there, but they all seemed to know her.

-Flash Back-

“You simply must tell us, is he as good in bed as his reputation says he is?”
All the girls giggled as Sarah’s cheeks went red, and then burst out again in another, much louder fit of giggles, when she shook her head ‘yes’.

Sarah smiled as the gifts kept on coming. Each was almost packed with things for the honeymoon or lingerie that they each said was the best. Sarah gasped as Findore presented her with a large package, the bow a iridescent pink. She took the top off and smiled.

“They are beautiful,” she said pulling out the white satin bra, lacy and the whole nine yards. The thong matched it, and made Sarah smile. “I believe I know when to wear these.”

Sarah laughed more than she had ever in her life that night. She heard real dirty jokes, ones that would rival the jokes in “Playboy”, and she heard love stories that made her heart flutter and some that made her more erotic feeling than she ever remembered. Only when all the girls ganged up on her and blindfolded her did she start to feel a little insecure.

“Uh, guys... why the sudden darkness?” Sarah asked as the blindfold was held firmly in place.

“You’ll see.” One of the girl giggled out.

Sarah heard the women began to giggle a little to themselves and once the blindfold had been taken off, Sarah’s breath caught in her throat.

“My god...” Sarah’s eyes scanned over the tall, dark, and handsome man standing in front of her. She giggled a little as he bent in and whispered something dirty in her ear.

“Here’s to getting married, Sarah.” Findore smiled as the man in front of Sarah began to dance.

-End Flash Back-

“You are so going to get it for that dancer.” Sarah smiled as she put most of the lingerie away in her dresser, and packed some for the honeymoon.

“Oh get off your high horse Sarah! You loved the way her danced on you!”

Sarah blushes and mumbles something along the lines of a “so what?”

“Is that all you people think about down here? Is sex?”

“No,” Findore walked past her, pinching her ass, “We like foreplay too.”

“You bitch!” Sarah turned and smacked her ass.

“You liked it!” Findore called from the bathroom.

Again, a “so what” found it’s way to Findore’s ears. “You should really come and soak in the bathtub. You are going to have a long day ahead of you.”

“Yeah, yeah. I’m coming!” Sarah called, “Let me just finish this letter to Jareth!”

Sarah signed her name and called one of the goblins over.

“Please take this to his majesty.”

“M’lady.” The goblin bowed and scuttled out of the room.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

'Jareth,
You had better be ready, because tonight will be the night to remember. At least, that's what everyone said you would make it. You had better be planning something, because if your not, I might have to take things into my own hands. On the other hand, maybe I will just do that anyway.
Sarah.'

Jareth smiled as he closed the letter and sighed. He put the letter on the night stand and when he heard a rustling noise, stood straight up and listened.

“Who’s there?”

Jareth turned quickly to see who had just flown in through the window. He smiled as the falcon landed on the floor and shrieked fiercely.

“Don’t get an attitude with me, Zach. I will put you in your place.”

Zach walked up to the king, now in his fae form and shook his hand. He hugged him quickly in a congratulatory manner, but whispered in his ear, “I think I would want Sarah to do that.”

Jareth smiled as he pushed the young lord away from him. Zach had been Jareth’s best friend for many years... so it was fair to say that they were as close as bothers. He was not at all surprised so see him dancing with Sarah at the ball, he was actually glad when Zach had been the first to grab Sarah at the “after party festivities.” He was even happy to enjoy his last night as a single man together with him.

“Last night was fun, no?” Zach asked leaning against the wall.

Jareth raised an eyebrow provocatively. He would not show shame in what happened last night. It was tradition to fae’s for the male party to use his freedom wisely.

“What was it, close to 60 women, maybe 70? I could only mount 30.”

Jareth smiled.

“You are such a man whore.” Zach called playfully.

“You wish you were half the man I was.” Jareth called over his shoulder from the closet.

“Keh. Yeah, so what?”

Jareth emerged smiling at the man he had come so close to. He looked at him in his eyes and smiled even wider.
“You like Sarah, you will like Findore.”

“Is she the little minx that was dancing with Sarah?”

“Minx indeed.” Jareth said pulling his tux from the bag it was hanging in. He laid it on the bed and smiled again.

“You sure are happy.” Zach said moving to stand beside him.

“She makes he happy.”

“I know.” Zach smiled and patted him on the back. “You can tell. Have you seen the gardens lately? I know they say they feel you, but that is one hell of an understatement!”

And indeed, the garden had grown. A rainbow of flowers flourished in it’s gates. Happiness seemed to be over flowing from the gardens and the people.

“Guests are already arriving, m’lord.” A goblin bowed out of the room after announcing.

Jareth nodded and blinked, his tux fixing onto him. Zach nodded the same, his tux hugging his body. Jareth drew in a deep breath, and let it go. He turned and looked at Zach.

“Ready?” Zach smiled a little as he asked.

“Hell no, but what choice do I have?”

The two laughed as they made there way out to the garden to greet the guests.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

“M’lady, all the guests are here. The ceremony is almost ready to begin.”

A shaky Sarah stood in front of her maid of honor. She smiled a little and nodded to the goblin, letting him know she had heard him.

“Well, Sarah. Shall we start to make our way?”

Sarah ran her hands over her dress again. She took in a breath, a deep strong one and let it out slowly.

“Yeah, I think we should.”

Findore linked arms with Sarah and smiled her a reassuring smiled. As she pushed the door open and headed down the hallway, she spoke in as calm of a voice as she could.

“It’s going to be awesome.”

Sarah giggled a little, almost skipping down the hall and around the corner to the tall double doors leading to the garden.
“I know.” She said happily.”

There waiting was Zach, looking hellishly handsome. Findore gasped and Sarah realized that she had not been at the little after party. Seeing the hunger in both of their eyes, she smiled.

“Zach, this is Findore. Findore, this is Jareth’s best man, Zach.”

Zach dipped down and kissed her hand softly.

“My gods.” Findore smiled.

“It’s my pleasure to walking such a beauty down the aisle.”

Findore blushed a stunning red and turned to Sarah. “Are you ready?”

Sarah smiled and tried to stop her shaking hands. “I think so.”

The pair of them turned and the doors opened. Music rushed in and the sun poured on Sarah, warming her face.

She watched as The two in front of her started off and she gasped as she felt an arm link with hers. She turned and found a transparent man standing next to her. She stared in amazement and smiled as he said, “You are as beautiful as they say.”
She blushed as little and looked up at him again. “Jareth’s dad, right?”

“You can call me Ziekiel.”
