Chapter 27/32
Friendly Alliance
Darla noticed the glowing silvery ball as they followed the path. Beth heard footsteps and sensed that they weren’t alone. She back-tracked a few steps and looked around. A few seconds later, she was face to face with Stokley and his men.
Stokley and Keith instantly stared each other down and were ready to throw down. Keith went for his gun while Stokley went for his AP gun. It was a weapon that fired out anti-protons. It worked best when your enemy was in close range.
They went through the usually pleasantries. Who the hell are you? What the hell do you want? Whose a$$ are you planning on kicking and it’s mos def aint mine.
They soon realized that they were kewl and weren’t a threat to each other. Stokley informed them about Shine’s “Big Nasties.” That was the first time Keith and the others had ever heard of him. They had no doubt that he was behind Jack’s disappearance. They were all ready to join in on the long awaited “Ghostination” of Shine. Their destination was Shine’s Shrine but first they would stop by the statue to destroy it.
Stokley used his cellcom to call Styles and told her about their new Allies. She was very pleased to say the least. She told the Triobs everything and they too jumped for joy. Now, she knew that the “Chosen One’s” friends and family were coming for her. She left the Triorbs’ Headquarters and headed to Jack’s room.
THE DEVIL’S ADVOCATES
Dev and Angelus were very close to their destination. Just one mile to go and they were all set.
“Okay Dev, I’ve got a “job” for you. I think you’ll be “good” at it too,” Angelus said with a smirk.
Dev looked at him with a worried look. She knew he was up to something.
“I’m going to need you to keep Shine’s pesky singing guards “busy” while I’ll “get busy” with Jack,” Angelus said so obscenely.
Dev eyed him with pure revulsion.
“You are such a disgusting pig,” Dev said with contempt in her voice.
Angelus just looked at her like she hurt his “feelings.”
“Yes, I know Dev. That’s why you’re here with me…you opportunistic nymph. It seems you love that in a man. I remember your torrid affair with Lestat and he was no different than I am,” he spat back.
She tried to slap him but he moved out of the way.
“You are such a prick. Why don’t you just ghost her a$$ instead of getting oh- so- personal. Don’t get it twisted; I’m always up for a lil naughtiness. But I’m just not down with you forcing yourself on the twit,” Dev said surprisingly convincing.
He gave her that shocked looked again.
“Whoa, do I detect a hint of jealousy and um a conscience….My Dear Dev?”
She laughed and said, “Oh please, I wouldn’t want you even if you morphed into Riddick. The fact remains that it’s still you! As for having a conscience…Bite Me!"
“Yeah, whatever babe. And who said anything about forcing myself on her? With my boyish-angelic good looks and irresistible charm, she’d be all over me. Besides, she’s hott as hell. Why shouldn’t I test out the merchandise after it’s been upgraded? And those impressive additions are so inviting,” Angelus said audaciously.
Dev just put him on “ignore mode” and continued to walk towards the statue.

Slater and the “backup” got acquainted as they walked along the path. They found the moat and crossed it with no problems as well. They noticed that the path led them toward the glowing ball and followed along.
********************* THE NEXT DAY********************
Dev and Angelus finally reached their destination. They stood right in front of the huge silver statue of shine.
“Now, where do we start?” Angelus asked glancing around.
“Uh Angelus, have you ever thought that this universe itself has changed you?” Dev asked him.
He looked at her and began to ponder on the question.
“Hmmm, that’s a real possibility. But if so, it took a very long time to affect me. I mean we were here walking the terrain for hours and nothing happened. Usually the effects of alternate universes are set in motion earlier than that. But then again this isn’t your “typical” universe," he said.
He then turned towards the statue. He began to walk towards it when he heard a loud growl.
“Step away from the statue Fangelus.” Riddick demanded.
Angelus quickly turned around ready for the “Showdown.” He sauntered so nonchalantly towards Riddick. Beast And Demon Finally Face To Face.”
Cordy was the first to notice Dev right smack in the middle of all of this.
“Oh My God, You! I should’ve known that you would slither your way through the vortex,” Cordy said with animosity as she approached Dev.
“That’s Right, Skankdelia, DeeptoothDev Is In Da House!! So, what are you going to do, bite me?” she asked clearly baiting Cordy.
They eyed each other down just as Angelus and Riddick were doing.
