The Wedding

AN: Alright, so I know I have been a bad person... not writing in so long. But, Now that I work at Pizza Hut (And yes, I DO like working there... lol) I have little time to do these things. So please just stick with me.

Chapter 28

The day could not have been more beautiful. The sun seemed to be shining more radiantly than she had remembered. When those doors opened and the people turned to look at her, she seemed to be suspended in time, not able to do much of anything accept follow the man leading her to her destiny and of course smile.

Traditional wedding was what Sarah had always envisioned for herself. The plain white dress with the long train, he future husband in black and white tuxedo, flowers all over. About the only thing that even remotely sounded like her envisionment, was that they were in the monsterous garden behind the castle. Everything else was nothing short of a fairytale.

Sarah had loved the dress that had been hand made for her. The colors of a rich, dark red and a piercing black made her feel sophisticated and truly viperous in the same fail swoop. The corset top made her breast stick out only far enough to make them show off their real beauty. The black silk dress bottom flared out elegantly, with a sheer red fabric on top, creating the same illusion as the top. The back of the corset had red and black ribbon holding it in place. The ribbons extended all the way down, riding longer than the small train trailing behind her. She loved her bouquet, for it was red and black roses. She smiled at the guests and tossed her curled and pinned hair. She felt more alive than ever at his moment, and when her eyes fell on her king, she almost lost herself in the moment.

There, standing and waiting to receive his ultimate prize, was Jareth. The look on his face was nothing short of very intoxicating. He looked regal and damn did he look hot. Sarah looked him up and down, left and right, and then up and down again. The Underground twist to this wedding was just what anyone would want. There was Jareth, in his black pants, those unforgiving pants. They hugged him in all the right places. The white poets shirt lay open on his chest, the red cuff offsetting the black rose he held in his hands. And hanging in between the open fabric, was the infamous pendant. The make-up, that he wore like the fae he was, off set his mismatched eyes and Sarah was instantly blushing.

Jareth’s breath caught in his throat. He could hardly believe his eyes. He was both ready to cry from the sheer miracle of actually having such a beauty in his possession and ready to murder the seamstress that crafted the dress she was wearing. The corset and flowing skirt made her look like a dark angle making it’s way to heaven. Her hair was curled to perfection and her eyes. The way Findore did her make-up, the ebony black and the red that sparked her eyes made them flash with desire, with want and need, lust, and most of all... love. Jareth smiled at Ziekiel. His father was walking her down the aisle, even though he was not of this world. He looked at Zach, who was gawking at Findore, who was returning the favor. He cleared his throat and the two nodded an apology. But, today was not the day to be mad over petty things. Today was a day of rejoicement.

The only thing Jareth regretted was that Sarah had never really had anyone close to her in the Aboveground. She was indeed an outsider, her imagination making even the oldest of minds think young. And her beauty was outstanding, all the girls must have been jealous. But, the truth was that Sarah just never really had gotten close to anyone in her life, accept Toby. Jareth did his best though, contacting her father and, after setting strict guidelines, allowed him to come to the wedding. And, by pulling a couple more than a few strings, he had found her mother’s spirit. She was sitting a couple seats down from Max. Not far from them were Hoggle, Didymus with Ambrocious, and Ludo. Of course, Crystal and Toby were standing at the alter, a bridesmaid and groomsman. And sitting in the audience, was Siress. He smiled warmly at Sarah as she nodded in his direction.

“You look wonderful, my dear.” Ziekiel smiled again at her.

Sarah was not sure what to say back. While Jareth was almost a spitting image of his father, she didn’t want to offend him in any way... besides, how good can you look when you are dead?

“Thanks. I am very glad that you are walking me. I was wondering if the traditions are the same here as Aboveground.”

“They aren’t. Very different in fact.” Ziekiel said, nodding to one of the guests. “See, in fae tradition, usually when a fae feels that he or she is ready for the ceremony of commitment, they don’t go through the whole getting married by a priest and such. They go to a sacred chapel and confess their love with witnesses as their hearsay. Then, their magic binds them together. This ceremony will be a mix of both. But, Jareth thought you would be more comfortable in a ceremony that at least looked like yours Aboveground."

Sarah smiled a wide grin and flashed it at Jareth. *He is such a goon.* She said to herself as they approached the alter. She looked around and smiled at he father and almost began crying when she noticed her mother’s spirit waving at her. She shook her head as she noticed that Findore and Zach couldn’t keep their eyes off each other. *Another wedding will soon take place* She smiled again and Ziekiel kissed her hand, at least attempted to. Sarah shivered as the cold shot through her body. It reminded her of when Jareth passed through her in the Esher room.

“May it be known,” Ziekiel turned and addressed the guests, “that I bless this wedding for all eternity.”

The crowd nodded and clapped its approval and finally, Jareth stepped forward and took Sarah’s hand.

“You look... we well, we’ll talk about it later.” Jareth said in a husky voice.

“You don’t look half bad yourself.” Sarah smiled as the blush sprawled across both of their faces.

“Welcome, one and all.” The priest began to talk of times of hardship and how it was a miracle that the Underground and Aboveground were once again uniting in marriage. “And now, time for the vows.” The priest nodded to Sarah. “M’lady.”

Sarah turned to Jareth and took a deep breath, and even though she promised she wouldn’t cry on her wedding day, she could feel them coming.

“Jareth, when I first met you, I couldn’t believe my eyes. For a goblin king, you looked nothing like a goblin.” The crowd laughed a little at the joke. “But what really caught my attention,” *Besides the bulge in your pants* “was that you seemed so real. You never really wanted to hurt me and I know that when I turned you down the first time, I hurt you. But I promise, from now on and for forever, I will loyally be yours. You make me so happy and I couldn’t imagine my life without you in it. I love you and I will always be yours.” As she said the last words, a tear slid down her cheek and the crowd “awed.”

Jareth smiled kindly to the young girl and took a deep breath as well. “Sarah. You are my everything. The first time you set foot in my land, the Labyrinth as well as myself, could feel your positive energy. You bring light in my dull, dark life. You make me feel alive and even though in the past I was cruel and devious, I promise nothing but passion and trust in the years to come.”

They smiled at each other and turned back to the alter. The priest once again stood and looked at each of them.

“Do you, M’lady Sarah, take Jareth as your husband and king?”

“I do.” She nodded as another tear fell.

“And do you, Jareth, King of Goblins, take the lady Sarah as your wife and queen?”

“I,”

“I object!”

Jareth turned, along with everyone else at the wedding to see who even dared enter late to the wedding and make it known they were there in the most crucial part of the ceremony.

“Who the fuck are you?” Sarah yelled before even thinking about what she said. No one, and she meant no one was supposed to mess this up. She waited her whole teenage life for this moment. And now, this asshole thinks he’s going to make it go wrong? Not on her watch, not in her wedding!

“I am a faithful servant to the king.” The boy bowed so low, his nose almost touched the ground.

“The, why in all the Underground, would you object to me getting married?” Jareth yelled.

The boy straightened himself and put on a coy smile. He began to walk towards the alter, with such a grace, he could have rivaled a cat.

“I said I was a servant to A king... not this king.”

Jareth immediately jumped in front of Sarah. “Who are you?”

“A humble servant, as I have told you, to the greatest king in the Underground.”

“Jareth is the greatest king here, who are you speaking of?” Siress yelled, standing as he passed.

“Shut your mouth!” The young boy with jet black hair held out a hand and raised Siress in the air.

“No! What do you want?” Sarah yelled, jumping in front of Jareth. “Is it me? Do you want me?”

The boy threw Siress to the side and held everyone else to their chairs with a glare. He turned his eyes on Sarah and smiled. Sarah didn’t like his smile, it reminded her of...

“You filth. Is your king to afraid to come here himself? What’s wrong? Is Micheal to afraid to show his face?” Sarah spat at the boy.

The boy’s smile faltered. Only for a moment. He resumed it and continued to walk towards the bride. “Yes, my master is Micheal, but you know not what you speak of wench. Hold your tongue!”

Sarah smiled and laughed a evil laugh. “You can’t do a damn thing to me. He is nothing to me and you are more than nothing to all of us. Leave be gone!”

“Before you get hurt, little boy.” Jareth added, pulling up even with Sarah.

“We out number you.” Zach said puffing out his chest.

“By a million to one.” Siress said stalking behind him.

The boy only kept smiling. Smiling and walking.

*Jareth, I’m a little scared. I can feel his magic all the way over here.* Sarah felt the energy reverberating off of the unwelcome visitor.

*I know. His magic is very advanced for such a young man. By the way... I heard the bulge comment.*

Sarah glared at Jareth. A time like this and that’s all he cant think about?

“You may think I am just a young boy... but I am more than that.”

“Yes, you are pain in the ass!” Sarah yelled getting frustrated of standing here and doing nothing. She was pissed off and she could feel those nasty waves washing over her. She was pissed and she was almost to her end.

“What do you want?” She gritted through her teeth.

“It’s not what I want... it’s what I was sent here for.”

“Then what were you sent here for?” Jareth asked, getting equally upset.

“Your hopes and wishes. Your dreams and future.”

Jareth’s heart froze. The look on his face said it all. He knew exactly what he was talking about and threw Sarah behind him.

“I don’t think so. Over my dead body.”

The boy smiled and nodded. “That can be arranged.”

As soon as the words left his lips, shadows covered the gardens, and scream erupted from the guests. Over head were a swarm of dragons and the were all diving in for the kill.

“RUN!”

Mass chaos racked the gardens. People running every which way, dragons unfortunately doing what they set out to do. Kill and destroy.

“Sarah, stay close!” Jareth yelled as he was joined by Zach and Findore. They all suited up in their battle gear and began to take down the dragons. All accept Sarah.

“My armor! It won’t come! Why won’t my armor appear?”

Jareth didn’t even answer her as he sliced through a dragon. And when Sarah knew she wasn’t getting an answer, she ran and his under the alter. When she tucked away, she noticed a small black cat mewing in aisle.

“Oh you poor kitty. Come here... here kitty kitty kitty!”

The cat ran over to her and with his purring vibrations, settled into Sarah’s lap.

“You poor thing,” she said rubbing his ears, “all this commotion. I didn’t even know the castle had a cat.”

The cat jumped off her lap and stretched, changing as he did.

“They don’t.”

Sarah didn’t even have time to scream as the hand of the boy hit her, hard, on her temple. She slumped over and didn’t even make a peep as she hit the ground. Walking to her and smiling, the boy pulled out a cloak. He covered her body and she disappeared out of sight. He laughed a little and then changed back to the cat.

“Mew, mew!”

The cat’s mews rang out through the battle and the dragons stopped immediately, what was left of them anyway. They all rose to the sky, all accept one, who stamped over the alter and dipped his head, for nothing. Little did they know, it was the most important thing to the goblin king.

The boy appeared again and smiled at Jareth. “Good day m’lord and don’t worry. You wont have to worry about her or your future anymore!” The boy changed back into the cat and jumped on a waiting dragon’s back. With a swoop of the cat’s paw, the top of the cloak fell off, revealing Sarah underneath.

“No! Sarah!” Findore yelled running after the dragon.

“No... not again.” Jareth slumped down to the ground, devastation racking his body. “WHY DO THE GOD CURSE ME SO???”

“Jareth, it’s not your fault. We should have all been watching her.” Zach said grabbing his best friend by the shoulders.

Soon, Hoggle, Didymus along with Ambrocious, Ludo, Zach, Findore, Crystal, Toby, and Jareth’s dad were surrounding the broken king.

“You ‘ave beatn’ ‘im before. You can do it agan’.” Hoggle tried to cheer him up.

“You all don’t understand. In her condition, she wont be able to take what she did last time!” Jareth said shaking his head, his whole body now shaking like a leaf.

“Condition?” Toby asked looking confused.

“Oh my god.” Findore covered her mouth. “Jareth you mean?”

Jareth nodded yes. “My future, my happiness. She wont take the beating like she is.”

“WHAT IS SHE LIKE?? WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT????” Toby yelled, getting frustrated.

Jareth looked at the boy, tears welling in his eyes. “She’s pregnant.”
