Chapter 3 Red's Treasure island.
Will awoke to the sound of the anchor splashing in to the water.
He stretched and looked over to the other two prisoners. Elizabeth had fallen asleep in Commodore Norrington's lap. Apparently she had fallen asleep between them and had keeled over to his side.
Will knew better than to be jealous, Elizabeth loved him. And that was all he needed to know.
"We finally arrived at this Red's island I imagine they'll come for us soon."
Commodore Norrington was still as proper as if they were at the royal court. Which unnerved Will a bit.
"Yea, I reckon they will. Let's just hope they'll leave us alive long enough to escape."
Norrington raised an eyebrow.
"Not counting on your buddy Sparrow to save you this time Turner?"
Well apparently Norrington wasn't so proper after all, or at the very least still miffed that he hadn't managed to catch Jack.
"Norrington, I'll tell you once more. I do not know where Jack went. He's a pirate, do you really think he would have told me? And besides, there wasn't enough time to tell me anything with you trying to hang him and all."
"Children, children, please. No more arguing. You three have an appointment with Commodore Red."
This came from the captain that had capturhem.hem. Will tried to remember the guy's name but drew a blank. The guy really wasn't as unforgettable as say "Captain" Jack Sparrow.
The captain was backed up by several of his pirates. Just to make sure they didn't try anything stupid; like trying to run for it the moment the cell door opened.
And no matter what Jack claimed, Will wasn't stupid. Brave, yes. Bold, yes. Stupid, no!
So when they were hauled out of the brig, Elizabeth still rubbing the sleep from her eyes, Will didn't make any fuss.
After all, he did almost have his bindings loose, and once he managed his own, he'd free Norrington and Elizabeth and THEN they could try some ill conceived plan that would make Jack proud.
As they went topside Will tried to look around. But all he saw was a harbor containing two ships flying under Red's flag, the rest were most likely out plundering.
They were pushed into a boat and then lowered into the water, then rowed ashore. Meanwhile the captain was babbling on and on about his recent successes. Will didn't paid much attention to him.
Instead his attention was to how well the harbor was defended. No ship could come even near the island unless it had an appointment with Davy Jones' locker that it didn't want to miss. Rows and rows of cannons stood along the two high cliff sides that flanked the harbor This Red guy was surely a smart one.
Once they arrived at the dock, there was some trouble getting out of the boat. You want to try getting out of a wiggley boat with your hands tied behind your back.
Eventually, and with the help of some not to gentle pirates they managed to get out of the boat and on to the dock side. From there they were lead through countless small streets that made up the small port.
To Will, the port reminded him of Tortuga, only smaller and more violent. As if that Red guy had picked out the worst of the worst of the worst scum of the earth. Vile scum that wasn't even fit to be called a pirate. They were nothing but murdering cutthroats that would kill their own mother if it was for a profit.
And what makes you think Jack is any better? Did you really believe Jack wouldn't kill if itted ted his purpose?
Yes, but at least Jack would consider other options as well, while the scum they were now confronted with would jump at the opportunity, not caring about anything but the profit. And no matter what Jack would say to the contrary, Jack did care for other things besides treasure. Not much, but there were a few things he loved more, like the Black Pearl, his hat, well maybe not his hat, but the Pearl was one thing. Maybe if he thought about it for a while he'd think of a second thing.

They had walked for hours, or so it seemed. They finally stopped in front of what appeared to be part of a fort built against one of the sides of the cliffs that sheltered the harbor
But Will didn't get much time to appreciate the architecture because the pirate captain was impatient and pushed them through the door.
Once inside a huge black Pirate? Bodyguard? Slave? stopped them from going any further in to the building.
"What be your business, that you come to Red's fort?"
The accent of the huge man betrayed that he came from the African continent.
But apparently the captain that had brought them here was either not impressed or very stupid and Will had a guess it was more the latter than the former.
"I be here to see Commodore Red, I bring a lil gift."
Apparently the captain had decided they were going to be his ticket to get on this Red's good side.
"I'll ask if he be willin to see ya. Wait here."
And the huge black man left through a door.
Will had finally managed to loosen his binding. All he needed was some unsupervised time and he'd be loose.
They stood together, Elizabeth protected from the lusting eyes of the pirates by staying between Will and Norrington. From each direction there were muskets and such aimed at their various body parts and Elizabeth wasn't the only one get lus lust filled gazes directed at them. Will also was the lust filled focus of the pirates around them.
"In line, ya scurvy dogs. Those be a present for Commodore Red, so no touching till he's through with em!"
A whine went through the group of pirates, obviously disappointed they wouldn't get a chance to do anything to them. What that anything could be, Will didn't want to think about.
So instead he looked around the room they were waiting in.
It appeared like a great hall way, only without a huge stairway or chandeliers. However there were paintings on the wall, and they appeared to be very expensive. One particular painting Will recognized. It was a painting of Captain William Kidd. He remembered that his mother had taken him to see the pirate transported to his trial. Will remembered she had said that such was the penalty for such devils and that Will should grow up to be a good law abiding, god fearing man. Seeing the whole thing had put fear in his young soul. Especially since he had only been 8 at the time. But twas was a long time ago, and Will had learned that sometimes the law and what was right, were two different things altogether.
At that moment the big black man came back, followed by a man slightly less tall and with hair as red as blood.
This must be Commodore Big Bad Red.
Will studied the man that was taking in the whole situation with an ease of total control.
Red was tall, had broad shoulders, big hands and so much muscle you'd think he used to work in a smithy. He had green eyes, blood red hair that curled and a crooked nose as if he had broken it once. He also wasn't wearing a hat at all. Just a worn navy coat over a simple shirt and breeches. The fact that this pirate was hatless surprised Will; he had thought all Pirate captains and such wore hats. Jack sure had been fond of his, as had Barbossa. Even their nameless captain that now seemed very nervous had his own hat.
"Well, what do we have here?"
Will's eyes went wide, the man in front of him didn't speak like any pirate he had ever heard, nor any sailor for that matter.
TBC.
