Chapter Two

Several months later…

At Miriam’s Villa…

“Lady Acaciah!” the maid beamed with delight. “Lady Miriam, Acaciah’s here!” She was ushered into the sitting room.

Miriam threw her arms around her. “You look well, darling, how are you feeling?”

“A little tired,” Acaciah admitted, patting her expanding middle. “Aiden’s been kicking a lot lately.”

“You did too,” Miriam said. “He’s a healthy baby. Aiden, is that what you two are kicking around for a name? Anakin is still thinking it’s a boy?”

“He’s certain of it,” Acaciah answered as the maid brought in tea and poured it.

“Something’s bothering you,” Miriam said, eyes narrowing.

“He and Joss are going on a mission and leaving Liza and I here,” she replied. “I do not appreciate being left behind on such important work.”

“You’re pregnant,” am sam stated. “You’ve no business traipsing about the galaxy in your state.”

“I know,” Acaciah frowned. “I hardly think it is a coincidence. He’s protective.”

“Obi-Wan was too, when I was pregnant,” Miriam mused. “I was quite taken with him; I didn’t realize the Jedi had truly sent him after you until it was too late.”

“I think he was taken with you as well, Mama,” Acaciah said. “He has some fond memories of that time; he’s told me a little of them. I think he might have liked to raise a family with you if he hadn’t been so brainwashed when he was young. Always, always, the Order comes first.”

Miriam shook her head. “I have been most blessed you two decided to move to Alameen after shaking off the Jedi, Acaciah. It was an agony to give you away to them.”

“This one won’t be, Mama. He’s our baby; Anakin wouldn’t have it any other way and neither would I.” She leaned back on the chaise. “Even if he is keeping me pregnant and at home.”

Miriam gave Acaciah a conspirator’s look. “If it’s action you seek, my dear, perhaps you are simply seeking the wrong type. You don’t really think the four of you are just going to waltz into Coruscant and unseat the Holy Twelve, do you?”

“Anakin has great plans for that,” Acaciah replied. “He says it’s a family affair defeating the Jedi.”

“It is id myd my child. Perhaps some of your Fiona family should be involved” Miriam suggested.

Acaciah gave her mother a sly grin. “Anakin wouldn’t have it any other way, Mama; neither would I.”

Later, Back on Coruscant

Anakin picked Liza up and they made their way to the Temple. Morgaine was meeting them outside of the main garden, and they would be utilizing the route that Anakin and Joss had developed over many years of sneaking out.

They cloaked themselves and approached stealthily, seeing Morgaine detach herself from the shadows of a large arbor. She swept up to them seating herself on a bench. Not looking at them, she pathed silently * you will have an hour at the most, that is all the protection I can afford you today. Yoda is getting suspicious and I will not jeopardize my position here yet, not until you are wng tng to make your moves in public. *

* An hour should be plenty of time, hopefully the documents haven't been moved since the last time that I looked at them. * Liza pathed, looking at Anakin who nodded before placing a small black box onto the bench in front of them.

* Attach this to the main terminal in the Archives and we will be able to access them from anywhere in the galaxy. * Anakin pathed to Morgaine. She reached out and swept the smalansmansmitter into her robes, rising quickly and moving towards the exit. Anakin and Liza followed discreetly, bowing there heads low in their robes, blending anonymously into the everyday Jedi that roamed the hallways of the Temple.

Liza slipped into the Archive Hall, moving silently towards the rear of the large room, seeking the actual documents that had been saved, rather than the datachips. This area was tightly restricted and it was only with Morgaine’s help that she was able to be here at all. Digging swiftly through the stacks of boxes, she pulled out the one she was looking for and dug through it eagerly.

Pulling several documents out of the box, she held up a small scanner and captured the images quickly. Stuffing everything back inside, she moved down the line of boxes, picking several out and repeating the process of scanning and returning.

The hour passed quickly and she looked up startled as Morgaine hissed at her to finish. Liza scanned the last document in front of her and hurriedly put it back into the box, stowing it back on the shelf and checking the small room for any signs that would give away her visit. Seeing none, she pulled her robe back up and moved quickly out of the room, following behind Morgaine. Anakin was waiting for her in the stacks and they made their way silently out of the Temple the same way they entered. Morgaine watched them go, a small, secretive smile dancing on her lips.

Anakin and Lizaveleveled back to the office flat in a nondescript speeder, not speaking until they were actually inside the building.

“Did you get what you needed?” Anakin asked her as they entered the large room that served as her work area.

Liza nodded and went over to the desk, sticking the chip into the slot on the holocomp and typing rapidly on the small keyboard. Suddenly, the screen was flooded with images; strange text that was unreadable to Anakin but Liza’s eyes flew over it, absorbing it quickly. “I found the information about Joss coming to the Temple, it is very vague, mentions his mother’s name, which gives us a clue to her heritage. I should be able to track her through the database in the main library. I think I found almost everything else, but I will have to sort through it all and translate it, it isn’t written in Basic, rather in the myriad languages of a dozen worlds. I know I got the right things Anakin, it will just take time,” she said, finally looking away from the screen and into his eyes.

He nodded and turned to leave, turning around again quickly. “Did you find any references to Gilliana?”

“Several documents mention it, and there are the colony records and such from the Archives that I will pull later. “

Several hours later, Liza stared at the screen in shock. She translated the words again and her hands shook as she reached for the communicator to speak to Anakin. She pressed a small button and drummed her fingers on the desk as she waited for him to answer.

“Yes?” his warm baritone rose from the tiny speaker.

“Anakin, get the others and meet me here as soon as possible, it’s important!” Liza said breathlessly, scarcely believing that she had finally found what was on her screen.

“Going to let me in on it?” He chuckled softly, already reaching for the desk unit to call the others.

“Not until we are all toget jus just hurry!” Liza said distractedly, breaking the connection and scanning through the document quickly again, writing out the translation on the small data pad in front of her.

As she finished, Joss, Anakin and Acaciah walked into her office.

“We’re here Liza; tell us what was so important.” Anakin said, sitting beside Acaciah on the large couch. Joss moved to stand behind his wife, leaning against the windowsill behind her

“I found it!” Liza said excitedly, pointing to the computer screen. Joss looked over her shoulder as the others looked at her in confusion.

“Found what?” Acaciah asked breathlessly.

“The prophecy!” Liza said, turning the screen so they could all see.

Anakin rose and moved towards the screen. “The whole text?” he queried softly.

“Two full paragraphs, it tells us about the future! Joss, the boys are mentioned, along with our other children that we haven’t had yet!” Liza said, her enthusiasm bubbling over, coloring her tone with jubilation. Joss smiled and reached for her hand, squeezing it softly.

“Children,” Anakin beamed, patting Acaciah’s now prominent stomach. Their son kicked beneath his hand in response.
