Unlikely Allies

Chapter 3

A few years passed within the Blackwell household. Riddick and Dylan were now 17. Don and Nadia were 15. Nadia and Don still got into it every now and then, but nothing major. Riddick noted their spats. He noticed that Nadia’s attitude had worsened. He vowed to confront Don about his actions. However, before he could, all hell had broken loose.

One night, Riddie arrived home and heard yelling. He realized that it was coming from Nadia’s room and headed in that direction. As he ran down the hall, he recognized the yelling voices. It was Nadia and D.B. He tore open the door and saw D.B hitting Nadia in the face. He charged after D.B to stop her.

“Riddie!!” Nadia sobbed with relief as she tried to get away from Dylan.

“What The F…” Riddie yelled out as he pulled Nadia away from Dylan.

“Nadi Baby, Are You Okay? My God, Your Face,” he said angrily as he checked her bruises.

Dylan tried to bounce, but Riddie caught her just in time.

“Riddie, Please Don’t Hurt Her…Please Don’t. You Don’t Know….” Nadia pleaded.

“You’re not going anywhere Dylan! If you even think about trying to get away, I will make your ugly mug look worse. Now, tell me why did you raise your trifling hands to Nadi? You better tell me the truth or I’m gonna ghost your “Wanna B. Nadi” Ass…You Hear Me!!” Riddick threatened.

Unbeknownst to Dylan, she had just given birth to what many have yet to fear. She was staring into the flaming eyes of da beast within Richard B.Riddick.

***DA PAST***
(A few months after Nadia had arrived there)
One day, Dylan devised an evil and twisted plan to try and break Nadia and Riddie’s bond. She started to insult Nadia when no one was around. Nadia just shrugged it off because she didn’t want to make a big fuss over it. It continued and Nadia got pissed off. She then threatened to tell Dylan’s parents. Dylan decided to play mind games with Nadia and told her that they wouldn’t believe her. Dylan told Nadia that they’d believe her because she’s their “real” daughter. They’d kick Nadia out of the house for causing trouble and she’d be all-alone. And if that wasn’t bad enough, Dylan went in for the kill and threatened Riddie. That sealed Nadia’s lips up for good.

Meanwhile, the Blackwells arrived home just a dab too early. As they entered the house, they heard the commotion as well and headed in that direction. Once they surfaced Nadia’s room, all hell had broken lose. They saw all the bruises on Nadia’s face and arms. Mrs. Blackwell started to cry as she approached Nadia. Before anyone could say anything, Dylan told a Big Ass Whooper of a lie. She told her parents that Riddick was beating Nadia and she tried to stop him.

Nadia and Riddick were both baffled by her lie. Nadia was so scared to say anything that she said…nothing. She looked at Riddie then at Dylan. She then started to shake uncontrollably and Mrs. Blackwell tried to console her. Vivian tried to get through to Nadia but to no avail. She was too incoherent and seemed to be in a state of shock.

All Riddie could do was watch his Nadi crumble right before his eyes. He wanted her to be okay and not to hurt anymore. He also wanted her to be okay enough to them the truth. He desperately needed her to say that it wasn’t him, but it was Dylan.

Riddick was hurt that Nadia didn’t immediately speak up for him. He demanded Nadia to tell them the truth. He needed for them to know that he could never hurt her. That he loved her too much to do anything to cause her pain. Sadly, Nadia was too far-gone to respond to his pleas. He didn’t even bother trying to explain the particulars to her parents, because they wouldn’t believe him anyway. So, Riddick got blamed for beating Nadia.

The Blackwells sent Riddick to slam for his supposed assault against Nadia. After he begged and pleaded for Nadia to tell the truth and she didn’t, his heart turned iced cold. He vowed to never ever try and help someone else again. He tried to protect the only person that he cared about and she couldn’t return the favor. His love for her turned into sadness and that sadness turned into pure hatred. He vowed to come after Dylan and Nadia, once he escaped slam. He hated Dylan for what she had done to Nadia. He hated Nadia for making him care and then not being there for him when he needed her the most.

A few months passed and the Blackwell house was never the same. Nadia kept to herself whenever she could and tried to endure the continued verbal abuse. She was so hurt that Riddick had left her to fend for herself. Though she knew it was her fault, she still was upset that he was gone. Dylan couldn’t take any more chances of leaving any physical wounds, so she tried to restrain herself from hitting Nadia. One night, Nadia flipped and ran away…never to look back again.
