Paris You Idiot!

Disclaimer: The makers of "Troy" and the ancient greeks and Homer have these characters. Sadly, I do not. I do wish that I could have Hector at least...

Hector watched with bated breath as Paris and Menelaus approached each other. They circled a few times before Menelaus lunged at Paris with his sword. Paris ducked and brought his shield up in time to prevent Menelaus from slicing his arm off. He swung at Menelaus, missed, and barely turned in time to block a thrust. Paris' blocking and dodging went on for a little while, until Menelaus lodged his sword under Paris' shield and sent it flying from the boy's hand. Paris had barely minutes to defend himself before his sword followed his shield. Paris was now lying on the ground, and Menelaus stood over him, sword in hand.
"Please, just let me talk to Helen. That's all. If she truly is happier with you, then we'll leave it at that."
"Never!" said Paris, as he got up and ran to his horse. Hector watched all of this in amazement. When Paris reached his brother and the horses, Hector had to speak.
"Brother, what are you doing?" But Paris ignored the question, as he also seemed to be ignoring the approaching wrath of Menelaus. He fumbled at the side of his horse for a few minutes before removing his bow and an arrow. He quickly nocked the arrow and fired. The arrow caught Menelaus in the thigh. When Agamemnon saw this, he knew this was the opportunity he had been waiting for. With a roar, he sent the Greek army at the Trojans. Paris mounted his horse and was about to ride into battle, when Hector grabbed his reigns.
"What do you think you are doing?"
"Fighting."
"You've done enough for today. Get back inside the walls."
"But, Hector…"
"NOW!"
Not even Paris could ignore an order from Hector. He turned his horse around and headed back to Troy.

After Hector forced a Greek retreat, he rode back to the castle, only to find Paris waiting for him.
"Hector…"
"Don't talk to me," said Hector as he walked past his brother. But soon Paris was in front of him.
"Hector, listen to me." This was the final straw for Hector. The entire hall watched in shock as he grabbed the front of Paris' robes and shoved him into the nearest wall. Paris winced in pain.
"No, you listen to me! What you did out there today was despicable. Not only was it not befitting a prince of Troy, I wouldn't accept that from even the lowest of my troops." Paris scowled at this.
"But they would have attacked us anyway." Hector pushed his brother into the wall again, and Paris' head banged against the stone. Paris whimpered slightly as the pain caused his eyes to water.
"That isn't the point. What you did was cowardly. You had better realize that." Hector turned away and had just started walking when Paris spoke again.
"But Hector, I'm your brother." Hector moved so quickly that very few saw anything between Paris speaking and Paris lying on the ground with Hector holding a knife at his throat. Anyone with sharp eyes would have seen Hector backhand Paris onto the ground and get on top of him before he had the chance to move.
"Do you think that fact would stop me from slitting your throat here and now? And you deserve it. You should have died today on the battle field, at the edge of Menelaus' blade. No. You are no brother of mine. From now on, I fight this war only to protect Troy. You and that little Spartan whore," he spat out the word, "are on your own. And don't you dare ever again say that you are my brother." Hector got up and all of the eyes in the hall followed him out. Paris lay prostrate for a moment, too stunned to move. When he finally arose, he was shaking, and the eyes following him as he left were full of contempt.
