Chapter 3
"You did what?" yelled Lit’l Bit.
"Shh!" Briar put her finger to her lips. "I don’t want everybody to know," she whispered.
"One minute you want to kill him and the next you’re sleeping with him!" Lit’l Bit yelled again.
"Would you please keep it down?" Briar hissed. "I don’t know exactly what happened."
Lit’l Bit frowned. "Are you two going to be together now?" she asked.
"I don’t know. Part of me still hates his guts but the other part is sort of softening up to him."
"Briar, you’re getting mushy."
Briar laughed. "I know. We’d better get going before all the papes are sold out." She got off the bunk and started out the door. "You coming?" she turned and asked Lit’l Bit.
"Yeah, in a minute," said Lit’l Bit. Briar shrugged and left the room.
Lit’l Bit watched her with a frown on her face. She didn’t even like him yesterday, she thought angrily. This wasn’t supposed to happen.
Briar finished selling her last pape then looked around for Jack, she had spent a lot of time thinking and needed to talk to him. When she found him she tapped him on the shoulder and he turned around.
"Hey." He smiled at her and kissed her lightly, a kiss she didn’t return and Jack noticed. "What’s the matter?"
"I need to talk to you," said Briar seriously and Jack frowned. Briar never wanted to ‘talk’.
"We can talk now," said Jack.
"Meet me the Lodging House in an hour," said Briar before walking off.
Jack was their 15 minutes early and he went up to the bunkroom to wait for Briar. When she showed up she didn’t sit on the bed next to him, she just stood and paced the room.
"What’d you want to talk about?" asked Jack.
Briar sighed. "Last night," she said quietly.
Jack grinned. "Last night…"
"Never happened," Briar cut him off before he could finish his sentence.
"What’d you mean it never happened?" Jack stood up and faced her. "We…"
"I know what we did," Briar interrupted again. "It was an accident."
"Briar, things like that can’t be accidents!"
"Yes, they can. It didn’t mean anything."
Jack’s expressions changed from confusion to anger. "What, I wasn’t good enough for you?" he snapped.
"No, Jack. It…"
"Then what was it? Huh? Tell me."
"I don’t love you!" Briar yelled. "I don’t love you and I don’t want to be with you, alright?"
Jack’s face softened. "But, I thought…"
"You thought wrong," Briar said simply before turning on her heel and leaving.
Jack stood there for a few minutes then grabbed his cowboy hat and stormed out.
"Where’re you going?" Briar asked when he went past the lobby.
"To drink myself stupid and forget about you!" Jack yelled at her and slammed the door behind him, bumping into Lit’l Bit on his way out.
"What happened?" Lit’l Bit asked Briar.
"Nothing," said Briar. "Absolutely nothing."
True to his word, by the time night came, Jack had had enough alcohol to get a rhino drunk. The owner of the bar had to literally kick him out and he landed on the hard cobblestone bruising his arm.
"Shit!" Jack cursed under his breath and got up. He could barely see where he was going as he staggered down the road, getting disgusted looks from passerby’s. He didn’t know how he got back to the Lodging House, but he did and he tumbled up the stairs into the sickroom.
Lit’l Bit heard the door shut behind him and looked up.
"What?" asked Briar looking down at her from her top bunk.
"Somebody’s in the sickroom," replied Lit’l Bit getting up. "I’ll go see."
She opened the door quietly and saw Jack lying on his back on the bed, his shirt unbuttoned. She smiled to herself and locked the door before walking over to the bed and sitting down.
She slowly leaned over and kissed Jack on the lips. His eyes opened weakly and he looked up, his vision was so blurred he couldn’t recognize the girl in front of him. "I’m fine,” he croaked trying to sit up.
"Shh." Lit’l Bit whispered and kissed him again. As they kissed, Lit’l Bit got her legs on either side of him and straddled him. Jack sat up against the wall so that Lit’l Bit was in his lap and he wrapped his arms around her. He gasped as Lit’l Bit’s hand snaked between them and started stroking his cock, feeling it gets harder at the touch. He slipped his hands under her shirt and cupped her breast. Lit’l Bit pulled away from the kiss and moaned approvingly as he stroked her gently.
He pulled his hand away and slowly lay Lit’l Bit down on the bed. Both their pants were off in no time and Jack got between her legs. But Lit’l Bit pushed him off and got to her knees unbuttoning her shirt.
She pushed him down and straddled him, taking his hands and placed them on her hips as she slowly lowered herself onto his cock, Slowly at first then she let him impale her in one swift, painful motion. A cry ripped out of their throats and Lit’l Bit started to ride him long and hard and deep.
Jack dug his nails into her hips and thrust up against her. She quickened her pace and didn’t stop till both of them came at the same time. Jack shot off into her with a loud moan and Lit’l Bit collapsed onto his chest.
They lay like that for a few minutes before Lit’l Bit moved away and lay down next to him. Jack‘s breathing grew steady and he was fast asleep. Lit’l Bit propped herself up on one elbow and stared down at him before pulling her clothes back on and leaving the sickroom.
"Where were you?" asked Race when she got back to the bunkroom.
"Jack’s drunk and in pretty bad shape," she replied patting her hair down.
"It’s his own fault," said Briar simply.
"You could be a little more considerate," snapped Lit’l Bit.
"I could, but I don’t want to."
Lit’l Bit rolled her eyes. "I’m gonna spend the night with him."
"Maybe Briar should go and help you," suggested Kid Blink.
"Blink, I want to help Jack, not kill him," said Lit’l Bit. She got a few things from the bathroom and left again.
"You did what?" yelled Lit’l Bit.
"Shh!" Briar put her finger to her lips. "I don’t want everybody to know," she whispered.
"One minute you want to kill him and the next you’re sleeping with him!" Lit’l Bit yelled again.
