Not Knowing No

Serenity and Dom didn’t talk for three days and if they were in the same room Serenity was sure to head the other way. He was beginning to wonder what he even saw in the girl. He couldn’t understand why she wasn’t trying to get into his pants. So many women would do anything to be in the same room with him and here she is trying to get out of the same room with him. She really didn’t understand what the hell he was trying to do but he knew that one way other another he would get her to talk. Mia and Serenity had slowly started to be friends and Dom decided to use that to his advantage.

“Mia why is she not talking to me?” Dom asked her after he cornered her in the kitchen.

“I guess it would have to do with the fact that she is waiting for the other shoe to drop and if you ask me she has every right to. That girl has been put through hell.” Mia told him evenly.

“You aren’t going to tell me what you guys talk about are you?” Dom asked her.

“No you know me I’m not a back stabber. What she tells me I keep to myself. Hell I don’t even tell Brian because I know that he will tell you.” Mia said as she pushed herself away from the wall.

“You aren’t any help.” Dom said as he left out the back door.

Serenity backed into the hallway and shook her head that man was going to drive her to drink or go crazy. Either way he was winning. “what are you doing standing in the hallway girl?”

Serenity jumped and looked at Vince. “Nothing.”

Then she was up the stirs and into Mia’s room before he could say anything else to her. Vince shook his head and walked into the kitchen. “I wonder if that girl will ever trust us.”

Mia looked at him and smiled. “She likes you Vince. Thinks that you are pretty cool with that I don’t give a fuck attitude. Plus the night that you went in there when she was having a nightmare and held her all night really helped you out of I don’t think I can trust him group to he might be trust worthy.”

“Damn I’m honored.” Vince said seriously.

“You should be. Dom hasn’t even made that far.” Mia said with a laugh.

Vince laughed and shook his head. I am going to go for a beer run. You think Serenity will want to go with me. I know she needs a few things from the store. Plus I think her gas tank has come in.” Vince told her.

“Yeah she would. Go ask her.” Mia said with a smile.

Mia knew that if the guys gave her time she would welcome them into her family like she has her. Serenity was a great person. Had a lot of life in her and it hurt Mia that someone actually tried to beat it out of her. After what Serenity told her about Skyler she wanted to kill him herself but knew that she wouldn’t do it. Mia didn’t take lives. She just tried to better the people that she met lives. Nothing more and nothing less. Vince has been a great guy on this. He even watches her sleep sometimes. If Dom knew he would go through the roof but it looked like Dom wasn’t the only one that had eyes for the girl. Mia had to smile at that and knew that once it cam out shit would hit the fan.

“Do you need anything from the store Mia?” Vince asked her.

“Yeah tell Bri he needs to close up in an hour and make sure that he knows not to do the books Serenity is doing them.” Mia said to him.

Vince nodded and then left the room. Mia just shook her head and went back to fixing dinner. Serenity said something about sweet and sour chicken so she was making it for dinner. It has been a while since they had so she knew that everyone would enjoy it. A few seconds later Vince came back into the kitchen and looked at her with a worried look.

“Mia did you let Serenity use your car?” Vince asked her.

“No why?” Mia asked him.

“Then how the hell did she leave?” Vince asked her holding up a note.

Mia grabbed the note and scanned it. “Mia, I know that I said I would stay but I don’t belong here so I any leaving you my car. The gas tank is already paid for. Take it and have one of the guys put it on for you. You have been a great friend and I already think of you as a sister. I am sorry that I am leaving like this. But to know that I can get you all hurt makes me do this. I don’t want any of you hurt. You all have been kind to me and I don’t see that often. Thank you for the food and friendship. Tell your brother that he won’t find me this time. I actually know what I am dong now. Also tell Jesse that he can drive the car. I know that he has wanted to drive it since he got it for the club. Give all the guys a kiss. And do me a favor I know that it is asking a lot but kiss Vince on the lips. He deserves it. Luv, Serenity.”

“Vince get Dom.” Mia said as she looked at the note.

Serenity was in the back of the cab and she knew that if she didn’t hurry up and get to the airport they would be after her and most likely find her again. She didn’t need them looking for her too so she decided that it was better if she went out of the country. Not to Mexico but to Paris or something like that. She could do it and she decided that the plane that was leaving when she got there would be the one that she was on. The cabby was slow so she sat up and looked at him. “I will give you 200 dollars if you get me to the airport in ten minutes or less.”

The cabby smiled and pulled down a alley way and took off. She knew that money would make anything happen that she wanted so she knew that if she wanted to she could fake her own death. But that wasn’t what she wanted to do. She wanted to live and be free. So she was running once again. The cabby got her to the airport in 8 minutes and she gave him the extra money and got out. She packed light and knew what she was doing. But it hurt her that she left her car there. She knew that one day she would be back for it.

“What plane is leaving in two minutes or less that has a first class seat on it?” She asked that lady behind the counter.

“The 357 flight to New York is leaving and has two first class seats on it.” The woman replied with a smile.

“Book me one and make it fast. Plus I would like a ride to the gate. One carry on bag no other bags. And if you do it in less then 90 seconds there is a tip.” She said as she got out the money and four hundred extra dollars.

The woman nodded and had it book printer out and her ride ther in less then 73 seconds. She gave her the money for the ticket and then handed her the other 400 dollars. “Thank you.”

She was on the plane and in the air in less then 5 minutes and she was happy about it. She had gotten away this time and she knew that they wouldn’t be coming this far for her. Or that was what she was hoping. She took out her computer and opened it up. She had tagged their cars with trackers so she decided to check and see where the cars were. She wasn’t as stupid as she had let on. When she saw that the cars were at the airport she knew that something was wrong with that. But then she watched as they each pulled off and headed home. She sighed relief and was about to close the computer when she saw that the cars were getting on the highway. She didn’t like where this was going. But she knew that she would get there way before they did and be able to be out of the country without them being any wiser.

“WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS GIRL DOING?” Dom screamed into the walkie talkie he had on him.

“Dom she is trying to protect us. Don’t you think that we should just let it all go? She doesn’t want our help. We can’t force it on her brother.” Vince said.

“THE HELL WE CAN’T THAT IS WHAT WE ARE GOING TO DO.” Dom yelled back to him.

“Do you even know where she has gone?” Leon asked him.

“No but Jesse is working on that right now. Aren’t you?” Dom asked the guy beside him.

“I got it narrowed down to New York, Baltimore or New Jersey. But my best guess would be the big apple. It would be easier to get lost there.” Jesse said looking at him.

“Then New York it is.” Dom said in a clear and calm voice.

“This girl is going to be sorry she ran.” Vince muttered to himself.

Dom just stared at the highway and shook his head. He couldn’t believe that they had fallen for I will stay on my own trick. He should have known better. But he was too relieved to really worry about it at the time. Now this time he was going to tie her ass up and make sure that she didn’t run. All he had to do was get to her before she disappeared. “Leon doesn’t your brother own a private jet?”

“He sure does and he does owe us a ride on it. Let me call him.” Leon said to him over the walkie talkie.

Dom smiled at that and watched the road. There was no way that girl was getting away from him. Not after what she has been doing to his mind. He was going to have her and that was all that mattered to him. “She has me all fucked up.”

“That is because you aren’t use to hearing no. And now that you have you can’t wait to hear her say yes.” Mia said to him from the back seat.

“Are you ever going to tell me what she said?” He asked her.

“If she wanted you to know she would have told you.” Mia told him.

“Why did you even tell us that she left? You know that she didn’t want to be there but you told us anyways.” Dom said to her.

“If I didn’t Vince would have.” Mia said looking away from him.

“You know what she is going to do don’t you?” Dom asked her.

“No I don’t that is why I want her back here. I am scared that she is going to do the wrong thing and ruin her life forever. That man isn’t worth her going to prison for.” Mia said to him coldly.

“What the fuck aren’t you telling me?” Dom asked her.

“A lot.” Mia stated.

Serenity knew that sooner or later she would fall a sleep but she had to make herself stay awake. Because she still had to make sure that they weren’t doing anything stupid. The cars had stopped now and she had to look up the address. That was when she found that it was a privately owned airport. “Just leave it Dom. Please just leave it alone.’

Serenity fell a sleep two hours into the flight and she was woken up by a attendant to tell her to put her computer away and to get buckle up they would be landing in a few minutes. Serenity did what she was told and looked out the window. It was the first time she had flown and she knew that it wouldn’t be the last.

“I got her. She landed in New York 30 minutes ago. Then she checked into a hotel. She is using her name Dom. She doesn’t know not to use her name.” Jesse said to him.

“She is tired. She might not have thought of it.” Vince said to him.

They were on Leon’s brother’s plane and heading straight for New York. Dom was staring out the window thinking about what was going on and how what he was doing might affect it. But he knew that it was too late to turn back now. They wre already half way there and knew that once they got there nothing would be the same between them and her. She would see them as people that wanted to imprison her and he knew that it would hold up some to the Skyler dude. He knew that he went off his rocker when he walked in and Mia gave him the note. But what pissed him off the most was the thing that was written about Vince. He didn’t understand why she would have written that but he didn’t ask it. All he could think was Vince had done something behind his back. That hurt but he knew that she wasn’t his.

Mia chose to stay behind She had to call Serenity and tell them that they were on their way. But she knew that id she had tried to stop Vince a little longer from going upstairs none of this would be happening. But that couldn’t be helped now. She drove Dom’s car home and then called Serenity’s cell.

“Hello?” Serenity answered on the third ring.

“They are on their way. They should be there in an hour. I am sorry I tried to hold them as long as I could.” Mia said to her.

“Its ok girl I know you did what I asked you and that is all that matters. I will be gone before they get here. Thank you for telling me. I will call you one day soon.” Serenity said to her.

“You should have stayed and none of this would be happening now.” Mia whispered.

“I would rather have you safe and gone then me there and us all dead. It is the next step for people like Skyler. If they don’t find me here I want you to tell Dom what I told you about Skyler. I know that it isn’t what he wanted but it will have to do. Mia you don’t know what this means to me. That you would do this for me. Thank you for everything. You are a great friend.” Serenity said to her.

“Be careful Serenity. I don’t want to hear about you being dead.” Mia said before they hung up.

Serenity looked at her hotel and shook her head. She packed the little bit of clothes that she had gotten and then headed out. She left the computer and a note on it. Then she was gone. She didn’t even check out. She just went to the bank forwarded her accounts to Paris and closed them after she got 4 grand out. Then she got her passport renewed and headed to the airport. It was a different one then the one that she landed at. she got the first flight out of the country and booked it. It would take her to London. She got a ticket to Paris from London and went to the bathroom to dye her hair from red to black.

Dom and Leon were talking when Vince walked up to them to tell them that their ride was here. They all five piled into the cab and headed to the Hilton. He couldn’t help but think that they were too late. It was like he knew that she was gone. Jesse had finally tracked down her computer and was picking up on it from the cab. He kept telling him that she was still there because knowing her she wouldn’t leave her computer and run. It had her whole life on it. But Dom just knew that she wasn’t going to be there.

Jesse was the one that went up to the clerk and asked for Serenity. He told hr that she wasn’t expecting anyone and Jesse smiled and shook his head. “I’m her brother. She is here visiting me. I thought I would surprise her by taking her out for an early dinner. I will give you something worth your wild if you tell me what room she is in.”

The clerk looked at him and smiled as Jesse pulled 7 fifties out of the wad of cash that he had. “She is in room 413. Floor four.”

Jesse shook his hand giving him the money and smiled. “Thanks man you don’t know how much this means to me.”

“Anything for a family member.” The clerk said dryly.

Jesse took the key that the clerk held out to him and walked to the elevator. The guys followed him and go in with in when the doors opened. Jesse pressed four and lend against that bar as the elevator started to move. “She is in room 413. She hasn’t left the room since she got here.”

That is as far as he knows.” Dom said looking at the doors.

Serenity couldn’t believe it her flight was delayed because of the wind. They said that it would be too risky taking off in such high winds. “That’s just fucking great.”

Serenity paced the airport wondering if the guys have arrived yet and she knew that they did. She didn’t know how but she knew that they where in this somewhere and they wouldn’t stop looking for her until they found her. She decided that it was time for plan be. But it involved flying and all the planes were grounded until the storm was over.

Dom looked at the note and shook his head. “Just let it be boys. It doesn’t concern any of you. Let it and me go. By time you get this I will be gone. Don’t think I didn’t know that you all were coming for me. I am not a stupid as I pretend to be. If you don’t believe me look on my computer. You will see. Don’t try to find me you won’t be able to. I used my real name here so I don’t leave you guys hanging I anted you to find this. I needed you to find this. I am thankful and grateful for the kindness that you have shown me and always will be but it isn’t your fight so let me fight my own battles. I will be gone for a long time but don’t worry I will be back for my car. So take care of it like it is your bay. Love you all and Dom I am sorry for ending this like this. But you and I know that it wouldn’t have happened. I am not your type. Serenity.”

“Jesse you know what to do. Look for any flights out of the country. They should have passport pictures with the tickets right? Find her and don’t just look for her as a red head. I think she dyed her hair.” Dom told him.

“I’m on it.” Jesse said to him.

Mia jumped when the phone rang. She rushed to answer it and was surprised to her Serenity’s voice on the other end. “Hey girl are you ok?”

“Yeah I am just tired of it all. I think that it is time for me to end this all.” Serenity said as the tears started to fall.

“What are you saying Serenity?” Mia asked with fear in her voice.

“I am going back to Skyler.” Serenity whispered to her.

“Serenity no don’t do that he will kill you. You told me that yourself.” Mia said to her.

“At least I won’t have to live in that hell anymore then.” Serenity said as she walked out of the airport.

“Serenity if you do anything come back here. We will protect you.” Mia said softly.

“I don’t want you guys in it anymore. Tell the boys that they were great to me.” Serenity said before she hung up and threw her phone in the trash.

The phone rang before she could walk away and she answered it anyways. She knew that it was Mia again and she knew that if she listened too long she would give in to her. So short and sweet was how she was going to keep it. “Mia please don’t make this any harder. I am going back to him and there is nothing you can say to stop me.”

“This isn’t Mia.” A voice growled from the phone.

Serenity dropped the phone and took off running. She couldn’t believe that they knew her phone number. How the hell did they get it? Jesse must have gotten it some how. “This can’t be happening now. Not after she has done so much to get away from them.” She thought as she ran to find a cab.

But the cab that pulled up in front of her had the people that she didn’t want to see in ti and she took off running in the other direction. “Serenity don’t make us chase you.”

Serenity didn’t say anything. She just kept on running. Then spotted the empty cab waiting for someone to get in it. So she did. “I need you o get me the fuck out of here and quick.”

“Sure thang cutie.” The guy said as he pulled off.

But someone was in front of the car and he stopped. Serenity looked out at Dom and screamed. The cabby looked at her and backed up. But he stopped before he hit the blond guy standing behind him. Serenity opened the door and shot out of the car and ran out into the road. She ran until she hit the highway and didn’t stop running until she came to the bridge. There was no way that she was going to give into them so easily. Not after all this. She was going to get away from them if it was the last thing that she did. “Serenity don’t do this.”

“You just couldn’t leave well enough alone could you Dom? You just had to be the hero. I only needed a hero for one night. You should have disappeared after that.” She said as she backed away from him.

Dom took a step toward her and she shook her head. “You don’t know what you need Serenity. If you did you would have stayed with us.”

“Don’t come near me Dom. I will jump. I am so tired of living anyways. So why should I let Skyler kill me. I should get it over with anyways.” Serenity said as she slipped over the railing of the bridge.

“Serenity you know this isn’t the right thing to do. You can beat this guy with us on your side. Don’t make this mistake and end your life so soon. You deserve so much better then this.” He said as she took a step to the edge.

“I have caused you and your family nothing but trouble since I have gotten there. I am nothing but trouble. To myself and to the ones that I like and care about. Your trouble will end with me.” She said before she left go of the railing.

Dom grabbed her arm and held on for dear life. Vince raced up to him and grabbed him. “Let go Dom. Let me end this now. At least this way I will win.”

“You won’t win. You will lose and he will win because he drove you to this. He made you feel this way. You aren’t any better then a punching bag if you do this. I will not allow you to take your own life. It just isn’t right.” Dom said as they started to pull her up.

Suddenly someone wrapped their arms around her legs and shouted to Dom. “Let her go I go her.”

They let go and she was pulled onto the bottom level of the bridge. Dom and Vince rushed to make sure that she hadn’t ran or anything. Serenity was punching Leon in the chest over and over again and by the look on his face it hurt but he wasn’t letting go. “You all ruin everything!”

“We got to get her out of here before the police show up.” Jesse said from the cab.
Mai was pacing back and forth when the phone rang she wasn’t able to get a hold of Serenity and her brother’s cell was here. So she knew that there was no way she would know what was going on until one or the other of them called. She was so busy that it took the phone ringing three times for her to hear it. She rushed to grab it. “Hello?”

“We got her and should be ther in a few hours. It has been a hard day. Don’t worry about driving my car back. I’ll ride with Bri.” Dom said to her.

“Oh thank god. She called and said that she was going back to him and I got all freaked out about it. Is she ok?” Mia asked her.

“She is in a sleeping pill induced sleep she should wake up in about 10 hours. Until then I don’t know. She jumped off the bridge in New York. Serenity almost killed herself. But don’t worry she is safe now I will tell ou the rest when we get there. And then you will tell me what part you had in this plan.” Dom said to her
