Relapse

Reviews:
sunset20: There’s another story itching to get out hehehe but I fully intend on working on this one first. There are many things I want to entwine, yet, don’t want to rush it hehe. Twists and turn(er)s everywhere ;)

WillowRose: I know… And somehow, he always ends up the victim, doesn’t he? There will be flashbacks, but, I haven’t decided yet as to whether I want to get into graphic detail of it, or rather … ‘Will’s mind’ and the feelings … Sooooooo yeaaa

Anyhow, here’s the next chapter, Enjoy… the next chapter is in the making

Chapter 2: Relapse

“Why did they do… what they did? To me?”

The question struck Jack cold, he hadn’t been expecting the inquiry, and for once, he wasn’t completely sure what to say, “William… There are always bad people.” He paused, then continued, “You were at the wrong place, wrong time… Men that are aroused can and unsatisfied for as long as they’d been…they can do strange things in their desires… And you, as beautiful as you are…”

Will immediately drew away, “You think it was my fault too? As Elizabeth does?”
There was no secret of the hurt in his voice, it couldn’t be missed.
Jack shook his head, “No, not at all William, you didn’t do nothing to deserve it, nor could have done anything to prevent it”

Will shot Jack an accusatory glance, asking suspiciously out of seeming nowhere, “Why are you doing this? What will you gain by helping me?”

Jack, in answer, looked sincerely saddened at the question, “You don’t think I would help you, selflessly?”
The blacksmith shook his head, “In all this… you always served your own purpose, who got hurt or who suffered didn’t matter… as long as you got what you wanted. The pearl”

The elder pirate seemed hurt by his words, but Will wasn’t sorry for them, “Why should I trust you.. anymore than I did Barbossa?”
With that comment, the pirate disappeared from sight, leaving him to his thoughts without another word spoken.

Looking out over the sea, a frustrated sigh fell from him, Jack had helped him, he’d saved Elizabeth, he’d done all they asked of him, even though in these things he chased after his greatest desire, his freedom, his ship… Jack had never failed them, except when Barbossa took him.
He had been unreasonable, perhaps, just maybe, the pirate would help him, without demanding anything in return…

Tomorrow, he’d find Jack, apologize… only hoping that the pirate would help him further defeat his fears, his memories.

As the sun rose, Jack moved from the shadows which had kept him, jumping off the still Pearl into the water, hoping to cool his anger… He still couldn’t believe the youth had gone as far as to compare him to Barbossa, especially after the current meeting William had with the dreaded pirate.

Climbing back aboard the Pearl, he was greeted with the sight of the blacksmith, who was steadily approaching him, “Jack…? Can we talk? I…”
Jack however, didn’t want to hear what the youth had to say, he’d said enough, with a shake of the head, he walked past Will, crossing the deck.

Will looked away, he doesn’t deserve the help, what was he, after all? A toy… Useless… Meaningless… Insignificant… Disgusting.

The progress Jack had made with the blacksmith seemed to have disappeared as the youth again resolved to sobbing, sinking to his knees on the deck, torturing himself with the words they had given him.

They had been right.

Why should Jack care? Why should Elizabeth care?

He was nothing.

Jack kept walking, not about to look back and simply forgive the whelp for saying what he had, for even daring to imply that he would go to the same lengths as Barbossa had. No, he couldn’t let it pass so easily.

But, as he heard the sobs, the noise of something crashing down, he turned around.

Moving to Will, he couldn’t force himself to smile, offering his hand, he looked at the youth, “Come”

Will looked up, again taking the offered hand, allowing Jack to move him to the far end of the deck where he received a grave scolding look from the pirate, “You’ve disappointed me William, I could never even consider doing the things Barbossa has done”
The blacksmith felt his cheeks flush, nodding silently, his voice but a whisper as he wiped away the tears staining his cheeks, “I know Jack, I’m…I’m sorry. I never should have said that…I…I’m confused, I don’t know who I am, the person I’ve become”

Jack smiled some, pulling a bottle from under his coat, uncorking it with his teeth, “Drink”
The other looked as if he would refuse the offer, but, he surprised both himself and Jack when he took the bottle, taking a large swig, and another… and another…

As the pirate took the bottle away, Will was eager to get it back, the warmth flowing through his body felt good, the dizziness that rose was something he’d live with… “Jaaack…”

The long whine made Jack laugh, “I think you’ve had quite enough William”
The youth however seemed not convinced, taking the bottle from Jack again, only to drink more from it, “Mmm so good”

And now, the last thing the youth noticed was himself being caught right before he would have hit the ground
