Chapter 3: Deal
As the pirate captain took a better look at his captive he noticed the only recently starting to heal cut on his chest, “Ahh, now who did this to ye Jack? Pretty crafty line, wasn’t done by accident was it?”
Jack smiled, that being the only answer the pirate captain received, Barbossa snarled audibly, then laughed, “Seems like ye be needing another lesson, me crew would sure be thrilled ta hear it”
Frantically, Jack shook his head, “No, not necessary”
Barbossa smirked, “Then who did it to ye?”
Jack smiled, “The blacksmith, apparently he turned out not to be fond of me showing my fancy in his bonnielass, told me to consider this a warning he did”
Barbossa nodded in acceptance, “That weren’t too hard now, was it Jackie? For now, yer safe, but only because I wish it so, be wise ta remember it Jackie boy”
Jack nodded, “Aye, I will”
As Barbossa raised his eyebrow, he flashed a toothy grin, “Aye, I will… Master”
Barbossa smiled, “Ah, so ye haven’t forgotten, good lad”
Jack smiled some, “Is it truly necessary to keep me chained up? You and I both know I have nowhere to run”
Barbossa gave a nod, “True enough Jackie boy, but me thinks ye look quite good chained up like that. I shall think on yer words, meantime, ye’d do best to get yerself some rest, ye’ll need it.”
Will paced the deck nervously, looking at the crew, “Mister Gibbs!”
Gibbs looked up at the youngster, “Aye Will?”
The blacksmith-turned-pirate bit his lip, “Do not near the ship, I shall take one of the boats, bargain”
Gibbs laughed, “Oh you sure are daft Will, I cannot agree to this however, Jack would kill us all if we would… You don’t stand a chance, alone”
Will shook his head, “We don’t stand a chance at all, their numbers are greater, their skills better, it will be a lost battle, save yourself mister Gibbs, and the crew, and see if you can find a way to liberate both Jack and I, I shall go, offer them myself… then Jack will not be alone in their clutches. He needn’t go through this alone”
As James set sail with a selected group of the Royal Navy, he watched Elizabeth run up to the ship, “JAMES!!! DON’T FAIL ME! THEY MUST BE PUNISHED”
With a sigh, he gave a nod, content to be sailing away, watching her turn into a small dot in the distance before disappearing.
He felt betrayed, though he’d agreed to help her, he hadn’t been keen too. He loved her, once, but she betrayed his heart, betrayed him, for the love of a blacksmith she claims to have hurt her tremendously.
James somehow distrusted the story, not believing Will would go to any such length, but, if indeed he and Sparrow had joined up together…it might just be possible.
Either way, even if not for Elizabeth, it wouldn’t cause him troubled dreams to force both out of his life.
They’d done enough.
Elizabeth stood, a self-satisfied smile on her face as she pondered her brilliant lie. She knew James wouldn’t refuse to catch Will and Jack, especially now, with her claim they hurt her, took her against her will…
No, even if the commodore refused to admit to his true feelings for her she was convinced he had, she knew he would defend her honour, no matter the circumstances.
She’d get her revenge.
