Unfamiliarity
Once again, Tyler woke up in a room unfamiliar to him, but this time he was warm. There were soft pillows around him, and a heavy padded comforter had been thrown on top of him. He didn't want to open his eyes quite yet, almost scared of what he might see when he did, but a soft fire light forced him to look out into the room.
It was a small room, but not like one of the dorms. It was more comfortable, more lived in. A fire was burning and crackling cheerfully in the grate across from his bed. In front of the fire there was a small wooden table and a plush chair. On top of the table there seemed to be small covered serving dishes. The floor was covered by a plush rug and although there were no windows, the room did not seem stuffy, but rather quite the opposite. Somehow, this small room, with its windowless interior, was very friendly, welcoming almost.
Tyler turned as he heard a door shut quietly behind him. Chase had entered the room, and was now looking over the bedside at him. He smiled, confusing the hell out of Tyler, saying "good, I'm glad you're awake," before moving on into the room. "So what do you think of my room? It's small, and it doesn't seem like a place that I would live in, but it's home for me." He smiled, putting down his bookbag.
"So... if this is your room... why am I waking up in it?" Tyler asked in all honesty. He had been confused enough to wake up chained to a wall in an almost dungeon like place with his three best friends to begin with, but now this... this was proving to be too much for him. He continued to look around the room as he spoke. "Is there some reason that I'm here, while the other's aren't? What do you want with me, you know that I'm the least powerful of the group..."
Chase was staring at him, and until now Tyler hadn't noticed that he was also topless, like the others had been. He looked down at his mildly toned chest, then pulled the comforter up around him, pretending to be cold. Chase quickly looked away towards the fire. "Yes actually, there is a reason for my pulling you away from the others... I see a far greater potential in you than them. They push you down, keep you as a pet almost, just because you're the youngest. It seems... just... wrong... even to me. Chase turned back to face him, walking towards the bed. He put his knuckles down on the bed-frame, leaning down closer to Tyler.
"If you want to eat or something, theres food over by the fire... and you can borrow one of my shirts or something if you'd like... their in the drawers under the bed... I have to go again, but I should be back in about an hour..." Chase said, leaning over the bed, not really looking at Tyler. He lingered there a moment after he'd finished speaking, then quickly stood up and jogged out of the room, shutting the door loudly behind him.
