Loose Cannon
Okay: Now we’re back in Springwood, little short, but will fill in some but not many blanks.
Disclaimer: Do not own Freddy, Jason, Gibb, etc. Only the premise is mine.
3: Loose Cannon
The three had remained still for what felt like forever. “Wow. What the hell just happened?” Blake finally asked, breaking the thick silence.
The girls could only stand and stare. Lori finally asked, “well, what was he like before he showed up here?”
“Well, he was acting kind of nervous, twitchy, almost. And he kept on talking to himself: some kind of chant, I couldn’t really understand it.”
“And what did he mean by Will says hi?” demanded Kia, rubbing Lori’s shoulder protectively.
“He sees him all the time. Every Sunday, actually.” Both girls looked confused. “What are you talking about?” asked Lori, moving from Kia and closer to Blake.
“You don’t know?”
“Know what? I haven’t seen or heard from Will since we were fourteen. For all I knew, he was dead.”
“He’s at Westin Hills. Very much alive.”
“What? What’s that?”
“It’s a psychiatric hospital.”
Silence.
“What? Why would they put him there?”
“I don’t know. I just know that since him and Gibb hooked up he’s talked about you and they just sort of clicked.”
“Why would he talk about me?”
“Well, he talks about Gibb and since you three are tight your name was bound to come in eventually.”
Silence.
“Sorry. I thought you knew.”
She laughed harshly. “What? That the great first love was in a psychiatric hospital?”
“Lori” said Kia gently, moving closer to her best friend.
“Well, why does Trey go?”
Blake shrugged. “He must know someone there because he and Will have been talking for oh a few months.”
“A few months?!” gasped Lori.
“Yeah. Will begged him not to tell you.”
Lori walked to the window and looked outside, the rain still falling. Now she understood why Will had never called or written.
But what was still a mystery was why was he in there in the first place?
Who put him there?
Why?
Lori sighed. The day had been one big enigma with even more questions and less answers.
