chapter 3

She swallowed as she looked up at him wondering about the thoughts that were running through his head.

“Yo, David, who is this chick,” His head snapped around as he seemed to remember for the first time that his brothers were standing right there. He shook his head sliding his fingers back through his hair.

“It’s complicated.” He growled at himself as he realized just how pathetic and weak sounding he was right in that moment. It was his sibling sure, but he had killed the rest of his family on Max’s orders, why not her too. Swallowing he turned to look over his sister with a glare. “How the fuck are you even alive.” She rolled her eyes as she reached up to subconsciously run her fingers across her marks.

“I’m bonded.” She shook her head before glancing over her shoulder at the boardwalk where people were starting to notice the scene that the five of them were causing. “Let’s go somewhere else and I’ll explain everything.” David hesitated a moment rubbing his bottom lip with his gloved thumb. He didn’t trust taking her to the cave cause should something go wrong he wasn’t exactly sure that he could kill her, she was his twin, his other half.

Finally he shook his head with a smirk, if worse came to worse he’d have Dwayne kill her, and knowing his pack mate, he would to insure the safety of his brothers. Reaching up he grabbed her upper arm and without saying another word dragged her towards where their bikes were stashed.

“Pick your poison.” David smirked, he could smell the fear that was rolling off of her in waves as he gestured to the other three boys that were sitting astride their bikes. She took a step towards her brother feeling what little comfort with a pack of killers that she could with his but instead he shook his head in rejection and pointed behind her. Swallowing she turned to look at the other three boys visibly wincing as she noticed that the one with the wild looking blond hair was focused on her neck, on the bite marks where the scabs had split open and were slightly bleeding.

Letting out a ragged breath she looked back his to the other two men, the beautiful with the dark chocolate colored locks and the other one with the curly blond hair who had almost an innocent look to him. With a slight tremble she stepped towards the more innocent looking of the two swallowing as she tilted her head to look over him.

“May I?” she bit her bit her bottom lip as he held out his hand to her, willing herself not to flinch at the feeling of his cold skin. With a single smooth movement he had her atop of the bike and the bike started. He smirked looking over his shoulder at her mumbling hold on before he was taking off and she was clinging to him for deal life. At one point during the ride she found herself burying her face against his patchwork jacket unwilling to watch the beach floor speed past her at an alarming rate.

Ten minutes but what felt like an eternity later she was being hauled off of the bike and set on her feet in the sand. She turned to glare at David a moment before she felt a cloth being pressed over her nose and mouth, her breathing being cut off. She struggled the corners of her vision going black until finally everything passed into darkness.

“I’ve got her.” Sevastian’s head snapped up as Demetrius walked back into the main foyer of the cave, a smirk written across his features. Sevastian shook his head as he glanced over at the corner where his mate was sitting playing with a knife one boot clad leg crossed over the other.

“Is it my turn to play now?” December smiled a coldness about her that only her twin could match. Where Demetrius was mean December was flat out cruel. Smiling she stood and moved towards her brother who just in turn turned his head to the side barring his throat for her. She smirked, licking her lips as she ran her thumbs slowly along the dark blue red vein that was visible on his neck, humming in appreciation at the sluggish pace of his inhuman heart.

“It’ll hurt.” She sing-songed pushing against the skin with the sharp nail on her thumb, drawing a slow line of blood. He smirked as he slid his hand up and onto the back of his sister’s neck.

“I want it to.” And with that he was pulling her against his throat groaning as he felt her fangs piercing into his skin. Her eyelids fluttered a moment as the blood touched her lips a moment before she swallowed, the images flashing before her eyes in a rapid motion. She swallowed her grip on her brothers neck tightening as she did, the images coming faster and faster until she finally had what she wanted, the bright lights the boardwalk, the surfer boys and more importantly the location of the runaway. Smiling she licked her brothers neck before pulling back and looking over him tilting her head to the side as she did.

“Got her.” And then she was walking towards the front of the cave her knife in hand a smirk written across her lips, “so do you want her alive when I bring her back or…”she let the question trail off half shrugging her shoulders. Demetrius paused seemingly deep in thought, his thumb stroking over his bottom lip as he stood there starring at his sister who was starting to grow impatient.

“Kill her keep her alive,” he shrugged rolling his neck before smirking, “whatever you want.” She grinned licking her bottom lip once more wiping away the last traces of blood before turning back towards the cave entrance once more and making her way into the night.
