Chapter 3

Chapter 3/32

It took Riddick another three hours to surface Earth. There was a secluded base he knew of while he was in the Military. Once he penetrated the planet, he headed towards the landing base. They were very discrete and didn’t ask many questions. Several of the Commanding Officers told him stories of this place. They used to come here when they wanted to keep things on the down low…. purrfect for him. There was some turbulence but not too severe. Due to the atmosphere, the landing took about 40 minutes.

He waited to be cleared to bring the skiff into some sort of warehouse. The place was huge with lots of activity going on. A green light flashed before him, prompting him to move forward. He moved in slowly until he was all the way in the structure. He shut the system down and gathered up his things. Once he exited the "RidMobile," there was a young man waiting for him.

"Hello Sir, here is your ticket. Just give this to the Check Out Rep inside and you’re free to go,” the young man said.

Free, that sounded really good to his ears. Riddick took the ticket and it had the number 17 on it. This indicated that he’s the 17th arrival of the day.

Riddick headed towards the entrance of the shiport. The first thing he saw was the "Check Out" sign in the front entrance. He handed the Check Out Rep his ticket and left. He had so many things to do. Like change his name, get a ride, exchange his credits for dollars, eat and sleep. He was a man on a mission.

First, he exchanged his credits for dollars. Then he got some grub at Burger King. After eating his burger and fries, he was ready to take on L.A. He also knew of a place where he could change his name and rent a car. The whole process didn’t take long at all. Money was the only requirement needed and he had lots of it.

He filled out the required papers that were needed. In less than 10 minutes, he had a new name, Cari Reese Jackson. He then met with the Car dealer to rent a car. The talkative dealer took him to the car lot. Within seconds, Riddick made his choice. He saw a silver Chevrolet Silverado truck. It was Beautiful and so him. The shine of the silver complimented the shine of his eyes very well. He gave the money to the Dealer and was on his way.

He drove for hours just enjoying the freedom of the road. H e suddenly found himself yawning and his stomach was growling. That was a sign that he needed to find food and shelter. He found a nice diner four blocks away. He parked his truck and got out. As he walked in, he was greeted with curious eyes again.

I’m never gonna get used to that, he thought.

He enjoyed his meal and left a rather hefty tip for the waitress.

He felt those same eyes on him again when he left. He tried to calm the beast inside of him down. The last thing he needed was to stir up trouble. He wanted a new start to match his new name. He walked towards his car and found two hooded figures standing next to it. Riddick immediately went for his shiv in his back pocket. The fresh air he breathed suddenly turned foul. Riddick didn’t know who they were but he knew that they definitely weren’t human.

Three Blocks from the Diner

Fred and Gunn were sitting in a deep purple Eclipse Spider. Fred had a drawing of two hooded figures in her hand. It was a drawing of Cordy’s vision. Gunn had inspected the area looking for the "Big Bads."

"Honey, I don’t see anything out here. Maybe we should drive down further,” Fred suggested.

Gunn nodded his head and started the engine. As the car started, "Remix To Ignition" came on the radio. They pulled away from the curb heading towards the diner.

Back at the Diner

Riddick had his shiv in his right hand ready to use it. One of the figures suddenly rushed him and the ghostination was on. Riddick sliced and diced his attacker until there was green goo all over him. The second wanna be "Billy Bad A$$" fled the scene as his buddy’s body fell limp on the ground.

Riddick smirked and muttered, "Tell your friends about me."

He suddenly felt another presence around him. He turned to his left as he growled. He saw two more figures, but this time they were human.
