“So, Sam, why didn’t you tell me about them sooner?” Miles asked as he laid back on a lounge. They were on base next to a pool that had been turned into a leisure pool instead of a training pool for divers. Sam was laid out on his stomach on a lounger next to him, nearly yawning.

“Had to get the paperwork done,” Sam replied, rolling his shoulders as he sat up on his elbows. “Do you have any idea how much paperwork I had to fill out in between the check ups and debriefings?” he asked.

“That much? Really?” Miles asked, gazing at his friend with wide eyes. Sam nodded and laid back down. “Damn, so it took you nearly six months to get permission to tell me huh?”

“Yep,” Sam said, popping the P as he flipped over. “Let me tell ya, Simmons threw a hissy fit lout and long enough to actually annoy Optimus.”

“The steady ‘nothing bugs me’ Optimus?” Mile gasped out in laughter. Sams smug smile was enough to send the blond into full blown laughter, holding his stomach. Sam watched his friend laugh himself sick, shoving his sunglasses back up his nose.

“Come on, Miles, calm down. It was funny to watch Optimus politely chew him out and then walk of leaving him standing there, gaping after him though,” Sam drawled, sending Miles back into gales of more laughter. Settling back onto his lounger, he sipped his tea and waiting for his friend to calm back down.

”So, between everything, a never ending pile of paperwork and still staying caught up with school work, you had to deal with Simmons along with it all?” Miles chuckled as he finally came back down, picking up his own cup of iced tea.

“Yep,” Sam said, smirking at his friend and raising his glass.

“I’m sorry you had to go through that, but I am glad that you told me everything that’s been going on,” Miles said.

“Not a problem, my friend, not a problem.”
