Regrets
Chapter 31: Regrets
It's 5 in the morning and all the girls are in Eva's house. She'd called Coco and Lisa late last night and they came over to calm her nerves. Mini and Letty had been at the house and never left since the guys still weren't home. Eva had called at least 3 police stations and hospitals making sure they weren't arrested or hurt. If anything happened to Dom, Oscar or any of them ~ No she wouldn't think about that. What would she say to Mia when she got home in two hours from her honeymoon? Nice welcome back surprise ~ uh, your brother was arrested or he's in the hospital. Eva's head is pounding. Letty sits down next to her and puts her arms around her.
"They're alright girl, Dom can take care of himself and Oscar too. They'll be fine" Letty's eyes tear up as well. An hour later Eva walks in the living room from the kitchen with her third cup of coffee this morning and finds Mini asleep on the sofa. Her pregnancy was showing now, in both her physical appearance and in her stamina, she's always tired and her complexion had lightened up, Eva's just glad Vince took her to the doctor when he did. Both child and mother are fine, another sign that some things are meant to be. Outside tires screech and Eva almost drops her cup, she runs to the front door ~ behind her she can hear the rest of the girls stampeding outside too. She opens the door and sees Vince opening the passenger side door. Her feet feel as thought they turned to brick, she can't move. Vince and Dom help carry a bloody-faced Oscar into the house.
"Oh Jesus! What happened Dom?" Letty says running towards them. Eva snaps out of it, doubles back and runs to the basement grabbing the first aid kit, she flies up the stairs and tells Lisa to get her some wet towels and warm water.
"What happened?" Eva asks, looking at Dom, glad that he's alright.
Dom is silent, so Jessie jumps in, "We had them, Dom beat the crap out of Lance man! But one of the guys pulled out a blade on Oscar and caught him in the face" he says agitated. Dom has his hands in his pockets ~ a sign he's nervous. Eva looks over the cut and its pretty deep, she cleans it as best she can, Letty holding his hand the whole time.
"It hurts like a mutherfucker!" Oscar winces.
"Yeah well, IT needs stitches, I have to get you to a hospital" Eva says with urgency.
"I'm going with you" Letty gets up and grabs her keys.
Dom stands in front of Eva stopping her "Wait! It's not safe to go out there yet. The Trans will come looking for us, I think I...." the pause is dramatic and sends shivers down Eva's back she says nothing just waits for him to finish "I might have killed one of them"
Eva steps back involuntarily; she cannot believe what he just said. Had it come to this? Had the situation escalated to murder?
"He needs treatment" her voice is barely there. Dom calls Coco over to them.
"You take nursing right? Can you patch him up?" Coco looks at Eva who is spaced out.
"Sure, I'll try, but he'll need to get..."
"Just do it" Dom says firmly dismissing her. Vince and Leon help to get Oscar upstairs with Coco and Letty following.
Dom turns to see Eva's eyes tearing, but she's furious as well ~ he can tell by her red cheeks.
"Where's my sister?" she says through clenched teeth.
"We didn't find her or Ayeme, but I'm sure they're fine." She nods her head and throws her arms around him, sobbing.
"I'm was so scared Dom. I thought something happened to you, why didn't you call me?" she yells the last words. Dom sits her down on the sofa.
"When I left here, my plans were to talk to Lance about our deal and find Ayeme on my own so I could ask her about Erica, but once he started talking I let my anger get the best of me." he looks down ashamed of himself, he'd lost control and now some one might be dead at his hands.
