Chapter Thirty-Three

“My Lord! What an unexpected pleasure it is to have you here.”

Eitan shook his head in amazement as Xanatos’s servant practically groveled at his employer’s feet before fluttering along nervously at the fallen Jedi’s side. Xanatos was oblivious to the man’s frantic gestures as he swept his cape off and headed directly for the huge liquor cabinet nearby. The cape was quickly relieved from his hand, the man bowing as if honored to be given the task of handling the garment.

“What can I do to make your arrival pleasant?”

“I want a hot shower and a good meal, in that order,” Xanatos ordered, gesturing vaguely in Eitan’s direction. “My Jedi guest will be joining me for supper meal.”

“I will?” Eitan inquired with heavy sarcasm, a scowl overtaking his dark features. “You assume much, old friend.”

The unfortunate servant fidgeted nervously from foot to foot, his gaze traveling between the two men as they faced off in unblinking stares. The tiny hairs on the nape of his neck stood on end as he felt an uncomfortable and inexplicable charge fill the space between the two men. He was forced to blink rapidly as red and blue sparks suddenly appeared in his vision, his head shaking in an attempt to make the strange phenomenon go away.

The tall Jedi eventually took pity on him and backed down. A small smile twisting his lips as he turned and shrugged casually. “It appears I’ll be staying for supper.”

“Excellent! I shall alert the chef and prepare the shower for you, My Lord,” the man gushed as he hurried from the room.

Eitan waited until the door closed behind him before rounding on his friend. “I’m not one of your preening lackeys, Xan. You can’t order me around like you do them.”

Xanatos disregarded his angered words and approached with a glass of brandy. Holding it out, he raised a questioning eyebrow when Eitan didn’t take it and glared balefully at him.

“Oh lighten up, Delano. We have matters to discuss so you might as well eat here rather than brave whatever swill the Temple cafeteria has to offer.” He smothered a grin as his friend snatched the glass out of his hand and downed the liquor. “Are you going to brood the rest of the evening?”

“If I damn well want to,” was the muttered response. “What matters do we have to discuss anyway?”

Xanatos set his empty glass down on a glass table before dropping down to sit on the leather sofa. He patted the spot next to him in invitation, the look Eitan shot him highly suspicious. His friend reluctantly perched on the edge with his empty glass cupped between both hands.

“I fully intend to lay siege to my wayward lover and I want you to help me.”

“How can I help you? I have no reason to have any form of contact with Obi-Wan.”

Xanatos reached out to finger the black leather tabard of his friend’s Jedi uniform. “You know Qui-Gon Jinn’s apprentice don’t you?”

“Bruck? He attended one of my flight seminars but I wouldn’t say I know him that well.”

“Well enough that he’ll trust you,” Xanatos mused as he sat up and slid his hand inside the neckline of Eitan’s tunic. Nimble fingers found a flat nipple and began to roll it until it was hard as a pebble. “I need information on where Obi-Wan is staying and what his every move is while he’s on planet. Chun will no doubt keep in close contact with him and you can find all of this out for me.”

“And I’ll do this because?” Eitan inquired in a remarkably steady voice.

A pale hand rested against his cheek, turning his head sideways to face the fallen Jedi. Sapphire eyes locked with his, desire shimmering in their depths as Xanatos leaned forward and lightly brushed his lips against his friends.

“Because you love and adore me and can’t refuse me anything.” Without warning he pulled away, only to stand and swing his leg around Eitan’s waist, straddling him. Hands gripping the back of the sofa, Xanatos slowly began to slid his crotch against his friends in a sensual dance. “So much so that you’ll forget that silly vow of yours and help me release some of this pent up sexual energy I have.”

Sweat beading his upper lip and his breathing labored, Eitan let the glass fall to the floor in order to free his hands to still the tormenting gyration of Xanatos’s hips. Dark eyes burned with a combination of lust and anger as he glared up at his friend.

“Stop being a nasty prick and leave me alone. Besides, what would young Obi-Wan think if he found out?”

His desire effectively quelled by the question, Xanatos let himself drop into Eitan’s lap, smiling in delight when the Jedi groaned in pain. Grabbing the hands that gripped his trim hips, he relocated them to the opening of his silk shirt.

“The least you could do is satisfy my perverse desire by helping me undress for my shower.”

Eitan sighed and shook his head in exasperation as he began to slip the shirt from his friend’s body. He was careful to avert his gaze as pale, muscled flesh was revealed, his fingers noticeably trembling as he unzipped the black leather pants. He began to slid the form fitting material down but was stilled by Xanatos’s own hands. Glancing up curiously, he watched in bafflement as the fallen Jedi smiled affectionately right before he bent down and gave him a thorough kiss. Pulling back after several pleasurable seconds, Xanatos gently caressed his friend’s honey brown cheek with the pads of his fingers.

“Damn shame to waste such delicious manhood, but I shall respect your wishes my friend.” Standing up he began to strip as he sauntered toward the shower, dropping clothes as he went. “Make yourself at home while I clean up.”

Left in peace, Eitan slumped back against the cushions and shut his eyes tightly. Drawing on the Force he began to purge the sexual tension from his body, a husky chuckle from the fresher alerting him to the fact his friend was all too aware of his dilemma.

“Bastard,” he muttered through clenched teeth.

“I heard that!”

Eitan chuckled softly and stood to make his way over to the huge window that looked out at the brightly lit skyline of Coruscant. His gaze swept the sea of buildings as a steady mist of rain began to fall. Unbeknownst to him or Xanatos, only a few meters away in another upscale apartment building, Obi-Wan stood looking out of his own window. Datapads filled with business lay discarded on the table behind him as he stared through the rain at the distant spirals of the Jedi Temple. He could almost hear the Force sing to him, his fingers lightly tracing the outline of the building in the condensation that was building up on the glass.

A sigh slipped free as he pressed his forehead against the window. A city planet filled with millions of beings and he’d never felt more alone or adrift. No matter how he may deny it, he missed Xanatos.
