Chapter 4 Reunions and Rum.

"Well, what do we have here?"
The captain moved forward towards Red all the while trying to reach the floor with his nose.
"Commodore, I have brought you these prisoners. You can hold them for ransom. The Lady is none other than the daughter or Governor Swann. And this man, is none other than her fiancée. And lastly, this man over here is Commodore Norrington of the British fleet stationed here in the Caribbean. I captured them while I was hunting for more treasure."
Will cringed. The captain was practically groveling.
Apparently Red thought so too because he seemed very annoyed.
"What had I told you last time you brought me prisoners?"
had had his arms folded and was looking down on the captain, like a angry father would when boy boy had done something stupid.
The captain realized that too for he looked down at the floor, dejected.
"To wear the Red flag is to show no mercy. No prisoners, no survivors. Dead men tell no tales."
Then the captain looked up again.
"But they called Parley!"
Red threw his arms up in frustration.
"And what had I said about parley?"
The captain looked down again.
"Parley and other Pe coe codes apply only to pirates that signed the articles. If somebody hasn't signed the articles, then they are dead meat. And no Parlay can save them?"
Red nodded, folding his arms again.
"Yes, now get your weasly hide out of here and don't come back until you actually find something worth my time."
At that the captain almost ran out the building. The pirates that guarded their little group hesitated for a second. Unsure if they should follow their captain or not.
Will was tempted to make use of the confusion and make a break for it. But he realized that even if he did manage to get out, there was no guarantee Elizabeth or Norrington would. And then they were still stuck on an island filled with bloodthirsty pirates that made Jack look like a lapdog.
So Will decided not to come in to action just yet.
"And now let's see what that no good nephew of mine brought me this time. Really, he's the worst pirate I've ever seen, and I don't mean that in a good way. Only reason why he's even a captain is because I promised his mother. one one day that bilge rat will make a fatal mistake and it will either kill him on the high seas or be by my own hand. But until then, he can be useful for meaningless work. Just some random ships to plunder."
The pirates surrounding Will, Elizabeth and Commodore Norrington laughed.
"Throw these three in one of the cells. Lets see if they like those accommodations. After all it's what we get when we're sentenced to hang."
Elizabeth gasped, her eyes wide.
Red laughed and soon the other pirates laughed as well.
"Don't worry pretty, you're not dead yet. As dumb as my nephew is, I don't think it was his idea to hold you three for ransom. He's not that smart. You three will stay in jail until I think of a way to get a ransom demand to your father, without having the messenger hanged. But until then, its water and bread for you, see if you like it."
Then Red turned towards the closest pirate.
"I entrust you will make sure my orders are executed correctly? Now move!"
Red turned and walked back to where he had come from.
Then the pirate Red had spoken to turned towards the others.
"You heard him, MOVE!" and they were pushed out the door and back in to the narrow winding streets of the port town.
After a long and tiring walk they arrived at the other side of town. In the side of the cliff was another building. But this one was a lot less impressive.
They were shoved in quickly and Will almost fell. But walledlled up by one of the pirates.
Which was a good thing because he had almost pulled his binds lose in reflex to catch his fall.
They were shoved in the first cell. Inside was only a rag that may have been a blanket long ago. And some straw.
"Hope ya like ya new home missy, you'll be here a while. Commodore Red isn't know for his quick thinking. And if ya lucky he might even forget about ya. That way instead of being hanged, you'll just starve to death," one of the pirates taunted, then laughed and left.
There they were, locked in a cell on a pirate island, with no rescue in sight.
Will quickly untied his hands, then Elizabeth's followed by Norrington's.
"Well, that's one fine mess we got ourselves in to. Now what do we do?"
Will satn agn against one of the walls of the cell.
"I suggest, Mister Turner, that we find a way to get out of this cell, borrow a boat and sail back to Port Royal."
Will glared at Norrington, who was examining the lock of their cell door.
"Say, Mister Turner is there any way that you could pick this lock? Since you've made cell doors before."
Will shook his head.
"That lock is too complicated to pick unless I had my tools with me. As far as I can see only way out is to force the door with some kind of leverage."
Will thought about the time he had freed Jack from his jail cell at port Royal.
Jack would have loved to see the tables turned with me behind bars and him the only one able to open the door.
"Yo ho ho, a pirates life for me!"
Three pair eyes stared at the door as it opened and showed Jack Sparrow, holding a plate of bread and water.
"Well I'll be, what are you lot doing here? Will, that's another fine mess you've gotten yourself in to mate!"
Will was up from the floor and at the door in two seconds.
"JACK!"
Jack Sparrow laughed softly.
"Shhh, they don't know I'm Captain Jack Sparrow. They think I'm his younger brother Will. And I want to keep it that way Savvy!"
"Jack.."
Jack gave Will a look.
"All right, Will, happy now?"
Jack smiled.
"Will, what are you doing here? Did you lose your ship again?"
Jack snorted.
"Of course not, not even the devil can come between me an me ship. I'm here for treasure, Red's treasure to be exact. I'm going to steal it right from under his nose and leave him thinking it was one of his own that dun it."
Jack smiled broadly, very pleased with his plan.
"Will, get us out!"
Jack shook his head.
"No can do luv, if I let you out the guards would know I'm a traitor. And they don't treat traitors very kindly around these parts."
Will sighed. Then he got an idea.
"What if we help you.?"
Now Jack looked interested.
"I dunno luv, what can you do to help me?"
"Will, you know us, you know we are good fighters. Even Elizabeth can hold her own in a fight. And if you're going to steal anything you'll need a lookout."
Jack seemed to ponder it.
"I'll think about it. But till then, here's ya supper. I've put rum in those mugs instead of water, the water here is more foul than the ale they serve in Tortuga. Besides who would want to drink water anyway!"
Jack grinned again.
"Now drink up me hearties, I'll be back tomorrow morning to bring ya breakfast."
And Jack pushed the tray through the slit in the bars that was designed for pushing food trays through.
