Chapter 4: Anonymous
****************************AT THE GARAGE**************************
Business was better than ever at the shop, it seems like the only mechanics within a 20 mile radius was DT. Dom wasn't complaining, he loved to see everyone busy, not that the money wasn't a plus too. With all the work being done no one notice the scrawny man standing by the entrance, he's trying to get their attention but with the sounds of the air guns it's nearly impossible. He walks in closer to Jesse and taps him on the shoulder. Jesse turns round looking at the big bouquet of flowers his holding and asks him what he wants, but he still can't hear him. All of the sudden the noises cease in accord and the man is heard yelling.
"Letty Fernandez?" he blushes when he realizes all eyes where on him.
"Letty?, she's in the back" Jesse stares at the man as he makes his way to the two women in the back, he's about to walk up to Lisa when she shakes her head and points to Letty. Vince and Leon look at each other and back to Letty, both with smug looks on their faces. Dom's attention is also distracted from his work.
"Letty Fernandez?" the man asks and she nods.
"These are for you Miss" he hands her the flowers. She looks at them with a sheepish smile and manages a hush thank you giving him a tip. Lisa walks over to her, mouth wide open.
"You've been keeping secrets", she says with a sing song voice. Letty grins and shrugs her shoulders, she walks away and pulls out the card. Leon being as nosy as he is looks over her shoulder and snatches the card.
"Give it back dick head!" Letty demands. Leon starts reading the card as he walks away from Letty.
"For the most striking, intellectual," Letty begins chasing him around the garage, but he continues as the rest look on, "And unpredictable lady I've ever had the pleasure of meeting." Letty grabs on to his neck from the back trying to choke him, now he struggles with the last words, "The events from the other night left me breathless, hope they will be repeated again soon" he escapes her grip, let's her take the card not before finishing it "Anonymous?...Letty's got a boyfriend, Letty's got a boyfriend" he teases her with a child like voice. The room stays silent for moment.
"Wow, you must be honored, he called you a lady" Vince doesn't even try to hold n his laugh, Jesse and Leon join him.
"Fuck off Vince alright!" Letty grabs her flowers and goes to the office passing Dom on the way, Lisa follows obviously trying to get her to talk. Dom has to admit it's kind of nice to know Letty is moving on with her life. He just wonders why she's keeping it a secret from everyone.
"So come out with it already Let, who is he?" Lisa says as she reads the card for herself.
"He's a friend OK, it's not official, that's why I haven't mentioned him to any one" Letty takes in the scent of the wild flowers "But he is special to me" a smile slowly creeping on her face.
"I knew it! Are you in love?" Lisa was intrigued, Letty shrugs her shoulders and continues to smell the flowers. Lisa and Letty walk back out of the office and the guys whoop and holler at Letty; she simply gives them the finger.
"Hey little lady, I expect to meet this young man at dinner this Sunday" Leon says in his father figure tone.
"I just might do that Leon" she gives him a twisted smile and Leon's humor dissipates. Dom simply smiles and walks up to Letty. "He's just worries like a brother Let" she turns to face him. "And are you worried about me?" her eyebrow raised as she sways away. Dom goes into deep evaluation of his feelings. Was he worried? Wwas was he feeling at this moment? It couldn't possibly be jealousy. Could it?
The phone in the office rings and he dismisses the thoughts.
