What happened? (Girl Talk;Teran Explains)

"Thank you, my friend..."
Blade awoke in a cold sweat, Leraya's voice pounding in his head. The
park, the flowers, the conversation with Asya, had all been a dream.
He looked around his room, the fireplace was crackling quietly. Bl
ea
eased himself into a sitting position and placed his head in his
hands. His black muscle shirt was plastered to his skin, his face was
drenched in sweat. It had been several days since he and Teran had
picked up Asya and Leraya. Blade knew when he first saw Leraya that
she was the long-expected queen from the prophecies. He ran back his
dream in his head, going over every detail. Asya was attractive but
there was no way that he was going to fall for any woman, vamp or
not. It just wasn't his style. Besides, he had a job to do and he was
going to do it. There was a slight tapping at his door. He hadn't
noticed it at first, but now since his ears had picked up on it, it
couldn't be ignored. He silently slipped out of bed and crept to the
door. The tapping had stopped, but there was faint breathing just on
the other side. "Who is it?", he called. Silence for a moment, then a
small voice called out," It's Leraya. Something's wrong with Mama.
Please help her!"
Blade opened the door to find Leraya huddled in a ball at the base of
the door. "What's wrong with your mother?" "I don't know, I was
sleeping in her arms and all of a sudden she got this scary look that
she always gets when she has to go away for a little while. I jumped
out of bed and she told me to leave and don't come back until she
tells me to." A door opened across the hall, Teran stepped out in a
robe, rubbing her eyes and yawning."What's going on out here?" Blade
glanced towards the end of the hall at the closed door and
said,"Looks like Asya's hungry. I'll take care of it. Let the kid
sleep in your room tonight." Teran nodded and picked up Leraya."Let's
go get a glass of milk and then I'll read you a story and we can go
to bed. OK?" "Ok, Teran." They went downstairs and returned ten
minutes later. Leraya went into Teran's room and crawled into
bed. "I'll be in in a minute, Leraya." Teran turned to Blade, "B...
this girl is something special, but so is her mother. I know that you
want her, you've dreamed about her every night since they've gotten
here and vice versa." Blade turned away, Teran grabbed his arm. "You
know as well as I do that I don't like being able to read people's
minds and dreams, but sometimes it comes in handy. Go to her, help
her, be honest with her. She needs you and in a way I think you need
her too. I'm going to bed now, remember what I said B." Teran slipped
into her room and closed the door quietly behind her.
Blade walked down the hall to Asya's room. He pushed the door opened
and stood silently, waiting, watching. After about a minute, he went
inside and shut the door behind him, locking it as it closed. He
stood in the middle of the room and listened. A clock ticked in the
darkness off to his left. A low moan and hiss came from the right.
Good, he thought, very good Asya. He leapt up and onto the bed,
trapping her underneath him. She began to snarl and spit curses at
him. He sat there, pinning her under his weight and holding her arms.
They stayed like that for an hour. Then she began to quiet down and
give up her struggles. Finally she lay there unmoving, unseeing.
Blade stood up and picked her up. "Wha..?" "Shhh...I'm taking you to
my room. You'll feed soon enough." He carried her to the door and
unlocked it, then carried her to his room.
Blade lay her on the bed and went to the corner of his r He He
returned with a bottle of his serum and the injector. He sat Asya up
in his arms and injected the serum into the back of her neck. She
began to convulse wildly, he held onto her tightly though. When she
was done, she opened her eyes and looked around the room. As reality
began to dawn on her, she began to tense her muscles, ready to
fight. "Calm down, I'm not going to hurt you." Blade kept his arms
around her and for the moment, a part of him never wanted to let go.
He leaned over and whispered in her ear,"I promise I won't hurt you.
Just trust me. I would never hurt you or Leraya." Asya's head rolled
back against his shoulder, "I do trust you." She slowly began to
relax. Asya leaned back against Blade, "Thank you. Where's-?" "Leraya
is in Teran's room, she's fine." Asya nodded and leaned her head to
the side, exposing her neck to Blade. Blade paused for a moment,
thinking. He leaned in close and gently kissed her neck. Asya
shivered and moaned. He watched her reaction, then slowly drew his
tongue across her neck. She arched her back as she leaned against
him. He brought his lips to her ear and began to nibble when she
stopped him. "We shouldn't do this. I'm sorry. I can't." Asya sat up
and pulled away from him. Blade looked at her, then hung his
head. "No, I'm sorry. I was wrong. It won't happen again." Asya stood
and walked to the door. "Goodnight, Blade." "Call me B, everyone else
does." Alright...B, goodnight." "Goodnight." He watched as she
stepped into the hall and closed the door behind her. He went back to
his bed and laid on his back. As he stared at the ceiling before
falling asleep he thought to himself, Maybe Teran was right. Maybe I
do need her...
Asya tiptoed quietly back to her room. "Ok Asya, get a grip. What
just happened in there?"she asked herself. She sat on the edge of the
bed and pondered the previous minutes events. "This can't be right. I
understand that he's changed his attitude towards me, but I can't see
that." She was so wrapped up in her thoughts that she didn't see
Teran walk in. Teran leaned against the far wall and cleared her
throat. "Um, Asya? I knocked but you looked a little preoccupied. I
didn't mto sto scare you if-" "No, Teran. You didn't scare me, and
yeah I didn't hear you knock. I was thinking about something. Is Aya
sleep yet?" "Yeah, she's sleep. Can I ask you a personal question?"
Asya nodded, Teran crossed the room and sat beside her. "I see the
way B looks at you and even though I don't mean to, I have picked up
on your thoughts. You see, I can read minds and I pick up on dreams.
I try to stay out of people's business, but when their thoughts are
too loud, I tend to step into help. Blade has dreamed about you every
night since you've gotten here. And on occasion, I've picked up some
of your dreams about him. I told him earlier tonight that I think you
need him just as much as he needs you. He has grown quite fond of
you. I don't know, nor do I really care, what just happened in his
room between the two of you, but I know for a fact that neither one
of you wanted to stop. He's thinking about you as we speak, dreaming
too. And I'm glad about it. See, Blade has always been about
business. The last person he really, truly loved died. He's been
bitter about it ever since. Many women have come into his life, and
for a while I thought that even I might have a chance, but he kept
his heart sealed. I don't know who it was, but I know that he loved
her very much. If you go to him, I understand. I just didn't want
there to be any hard feelings about him. He wants you, and you him.
Don't try to hide it, ok? Also, Leraya knows that there is some
connection between you two. But anyway, here's my question: Do you
think that you could change Blade's view of the world? Because I've
tried so hard for so long, and-" Asya cut her off,"I couldn't, but I
think Leraya can. We'll find out tomorrow, ok? Go to sleep, Teran. I
don't know why, but I'm not at all surprised at anything you've told
me. And that surprises me." Asya chuckled,"Leraya has a little power
of her own. She does a little mind reading, but she has a bit of
telekinesis. That is the power that worries me the most. When she
gets really upset, she's hard to control. I'll explain the rest
later, all of a sudden I'm extremely tired." She yawned, and Teran
laughed. "Alright, Asya. I'll see you in the morning. Oh..one more
thing. I'd appreciate it if you kept this conversation between us
girls, ok?" "Ok, goodnight." Teran patted Asya's leg and got up to
leave. Asya watched as she walked out and closed the door. She
nestled down in the covers. She didn't care if Teran picked up on
this as she thought to herself, "Blade isn't so bad. Maybe I do need
him, maybe me and Aya both need him in our lives. That wouldn't be so
bad." She smiled to herself as she fell asleep.
