Chapter4: Feelings Of Betrayal
William finally returned from reading the letter she had written him. “So you’re leaving me for another man Elizabeth?”
“I’m sorry Will I never meant for this to happen.”
“Why did you marry me if you loved someone else?”
“Because I thought I was doing the right thi
“So who is he Elizabeth? Do I know him?”
“I would rather not say.”
“Tell me who he is Elizabeth! I have a right to know the name of the man that has turned my wife into a deceitful wench!” Will’s words stung as they resonated loudly in the foyer.
“Will please don’t speak to me like that.”
“Why? It’s the truth Elizabeth! You’ve been acting like a deceitful wench ever since last night. You have denied me from touching your body for the entire three months we have been married. Have you already given yourself to him then?” An image of Jack laying over her body driving himself deep within her depths flashed through her mind. “Answer me Elizabeth!”
“Will-
“No excuses! I deserve to know!”
“Yes William, I have given myself to another.” Tears began spilling down her cheeks rapidly at her admission. Will dropped to his knees and grabbed the skirt of Elizabeth’s black taffeta dress.
“Stay with me Elizabeth! I won’t allow you to go to another man! You belong to me!” Elizabeth backed away from Will nervously.
“William please pull yourself together!”
“Tell me who he is Elizabeth. I have to know.” She sobbed loudly and clutched the handle of her suitcase in her hand tightly making her knuckles turn white.
“I’ll not tell you his name William! It will only serve to infuriate you more!”
“Damn it Elizabeth I have a right to know the name of the bastard that has stolen my wife from me!”
“I never really belonged to you in the first place William. My heart has secretly always belonged to another.”
“Who Elizabeth? You’ll not leave without telling me his name!”
“Why? So it can drive you mad with jealousy and resentment?”
“If that’s what I desire then yes!”
“No William, I won’t let you do this to yourself!”
“Please Elizabeth, I wish to know the name of the man who holds youart.art.”
“Do you really want to know something that will only hurt you more?” He nodded rising from his knees to stand at his full height. “As you wish William, I’ll tell you his name.” William held his breath and waited for her to speak the name of the man she truly loved.
