Codi meets Max

Thank you for the review! Okay, here's the next chapter, not a lot of action, I'm afraid, but my muse appears to have gone on holiday... Anyone has any suggestions as to how this should progress, email at shisaiyan666@yahoo.com

Blood. Sex. Night. Scents invaded her nose as Codi slowly woke. With some instinct, she knew she had slept through the daylight hours and that the sun had recently set. David and the others were still with her, a mass of tangled limbs, with her in the center. Slowly, she pushed herself up, off the mattress and they began to stir. David's eyes snapped open and met hers. "I'm sticky," she said. He raked his gaze over her body, still streaked with dried blood and nodded. "We usually clean up in the waves," he said, "but you'll have to meet the master sometime. You can use his bathroom." "The master?" she asked, as Dwayne, Paul and Marko crawled out of bed and began pulling their clothes on. "Max," said Paul. Codi's eyebrows went up. So, Aunt Lucy's new boyfriend was the head vampire. Oh, that was just perfect. Michael was gonna freak out.

"She's cute, but the last thing we need is another drama queen on our hands, David. Dammit, I thought you would've learned your lesson with Star!" Max said, angrily. "'Scuse me, but you did NOT just compare me to Star," said Codi, walking out of the bathroom wrapped in a towel. "Actually, I did," said Max, annoyance flashing on his face. Codi scowled and opened her mouth to make a smart remark, but David spoke first. "She's nothing like Star, Max. She made her first kill last night and she did it well. She slaughtered and bathed in blood and she enjoyed it." Max's eyes narrowed and he searched David's face, glancing at the others as well. "From the looks- and smell- of things, she wasn't the only one who enjoyed it." David and the boys grinned and Codi's lips curved in a satisfied smirk. "So?" she said, challengingly. Max looked thoughtful, his gaze raking over her from head to toe. "So having you around might make it easier to do what I need done." She raised an eyebrow. "And what's that?" "I need Michael and Sam to join us, so their mother cannot refuse." She laughed and Max scowled. "Why is that funny?" "Look, using me to get Michael might have worked, 'cause it's starting to look like he's sick enough for that, but Sammy is out of the question," she said, turning her back to him and picking up the clothes that Paul had found for her. "You know them?" Max asked. "They're my cousins. Lucy is my aunt," Codi said, dressing as if there weren't five men watching her. "Besides, we've already got Mike. He's back at the cave, with Star," she added. Max looked at David, who nodded in affirmation.

"He was initated last night, with Codi. He's one of us completely now. Codi drove him to make his first kill." Max nodded, slowly. "You'll have to show me how that was done sometime... soon," the older vampire said, raising one eyebrow suggestively. Codi made a face. "Uh, how 'bout not," she said. "Don't forget who you're talking to, girl," Max growled. "You're the master, the one who created David and sent him out to create the others. Yeah, I caught that part." She sighed. "Look, you want me to kill, fine, you got it, my pleasure. You want me to lure someone in? Sure, no problem. You want me to help you turn Sam and my aunt, that's just peachy, but no way in hell am I sleeping with you." "And why is that?" Max fairly growled. She scrunched up her nose. "Because you're very, very old and that's just gross."

Max glared and David and the others went perfectly still, waiting. Max's laughter broke the tension and he looked at Codi appraisingly. "Just how old do you think David is, Codi?" She shrugged, fully dressed now. "Don't know, don't really care. I just know that David, Paul, Dwayne and Marko still look great, early twenties, tops. You, on the other hand, must have been about 30 when you crossed over." "32, actually, but that was almost a century ago," Max mused. His gaze flicked to David, who was watching the exchange with raised eyebrows. "I take back my earlier judgement. You boys did well with this one." David glanced over at the others and nodded. "Yeah, we figured that out already."

They walked out of Max's house with instructions to find Sam and do whatever it took to bring him over. Codi looked down at herself. She was barefoot, in tight jeans that were slashed all the way down the front and back, ripped high enough to show plenty of her ass through the fabric. For a shirt, all she had was a black bra with a white fishnet t-shirt that brushed the bottom of her ribcage. She raised an eyebrow at Paul. He wasn't going to be a very good influence on her wardrobe. He saw her looking at him and grinned, holding out his hand. She took it and, as they reached the motorcycles, she slid on behind him. For a split second, Codi wondered if David would say anything, but he didn't, just glanced at them before kicking his bike to life. Codi leaned her face against Paul's jacket and smiled, glad there wasn't going to be any kind of jealousy shit. As far as she was concerned, she belonged to all of them and god help Star if she tried to get back in their good graces, because they belonged to Codi.
