An Unwilling Helper
Joey wandered the streets of Manhattan until the early hours of the morning, tired and numb from shock she made her way down Empire Street to a small housing estate before she collapsed from exhaustion, her eyes rolled into the back of her head as she passed out, the sound of Pinhead's evil laughter ringing in her ears.
"I'll tear your soul apart, just like your interfering mother."
"NO!" Screamed Joey sitting bolt upright, her sweat drenched hair clung to her face.
"Are you okay?" Asked a middle aged woman with dark curly hair and dark brown eyes.
"W-who are you? Where am I?" Stammered Joey jumping up from the bed she had been laid on and backing herself into a corner. "How did I get here?"
The young woman slowly and calmly backed away.
"It's okay," She said gently. "I found you unconcious outside, I wasn't sure if you were dead or alive. You're far too young to be wnadering the streets on your own."
"I'm sixteen and I'm tougher than I look." Retorted Joey, folding her arms defiantley.
A loud groan emited from her stomach causing her to wince slightly.
The woman smiled. "Not too old for a hearty breakfast though, come on you look like you need it."
Downstairs Joey sat at the table and gratefully accepted a large fry up breakfast and a large mug of hot tea.
The woman smiled as she passed her another slice of toast.
"So what were you doing wandering around on your own all night?"
Joey swallowed the toast down with a large mouthful of tea.
"You wouldn't believe me if I told you."
The woman smiled again. "Try me."
Joey looked at her for a moment, then something clicked in her mind, like it had been staring her in the face all along.
"What's your name?"
"Kirsty. Kirsty Cotton."
Joey's eyes widened.
"Then you're the one I'm looking for, you can help me destroy Pinhead and the other cenobites."
Kirtsy jumped back, knocking her chair to the floor.
"How do you know about them?" She gasped in horror.
"My name's Joey SummerskilL Junior. Otherwise known as..."
"The Cenobite Slayer." Finished Kirsty shaily picking her chair back up and sitting down. "So you do exist."
Joey stared at her blankly as if she was looking right through her.
"How did you find me?" Asked Kirsty frightfully.
Joey shrugged. "I don't know, but now I have I need your help."
Kirsty shook her head and left the table, retreating to the front room and staring at an old family portrait, at least that's what Joey assumed it was that hung over the fireplace.
"I'm sorry, I can't."
Joey stood up and walked into the spacious living room.
"Can't or won't?" She questioned.
Kirsty spun and faced her with a look of anger and grief.
"You have telekensis," She scoffed. "I'm a mere mortal."
Joey's eyes narrowed.
"I may have a gift but I'm still flash and blood, I can still die."
Kirsty sat in one of the plush leather seats and motioned to Joey to do the same.
"Then let me explain why I cannot be involved."
*KIRSTY'S STORY*
"Daddy, Daddy open up it's me, it's Kirsty!"
Kirsty pounded the wooden door to her fathers house until finally a woman with blue eyes, and dark curly hair dressed in blue answered the door, her step mother Julia.
"Kirtsy, what are you doing here it's very late you know."
"Where's my father?" Demanded Kirsty.
"He's upstairs," Said Julia as Kirsty pushed her way through and made her way upstairs.
*STORY FINISHES*
"Yes I read about the murders," Said Joey, she felt the need to interrupt as time was not on her side, the box was open and Pinhead was walking the Earth as they spoke, who could know how many people he could've converted into cenobites by now.
"I'm sorry, but I really do need your help."
Kirsty shook her head and looked away.
Joey sighed, she was fighting a losing battle.
"Thanks anyway." She said as she stood up and left the house.
Kirsty sighed deeply wiping the tears from her eyes, she looked out onto the street and saw Joey running away as fast as she could.
"Joey!"
Joey skidded to a halt and turned towards the voice.
Kirsty stood a few meters away.
Joey looked at her uncertainly as she made her way towards her.
"Pinhead killed your mother right?"
Joey nodded but said nothing.
"He destroyed my family too, count me in."
"I'll tear your soul apart, just like your interfering mother."
