Questions Answered

AN: Ok, so as you probably saw I updated “ECH2G” yesterday... so today is this ones day. I hope you all enjoy...

Chapter 4

Breakfast, if anyone could have called it that, was wonderful. Sarah couldn’t believe her eyes as she walked into the dining chambers. A long table, that she could only imagine got longer, had 12 chairs around it. And at each end of the table sat the place mats with matching plates, goblets, and silverware. She took a seat at the first end by the door and studied the table intently. Breakfast was made up of plates full of things. Bacon, eggs, pancakes, waffles, fried potatoes, and hashbrowns. Plates of fruit with musk melon, cantaloupe, strawberries, blueberries, cherries, and mandarin oranges. Toast of every color and size, and to top it off, a king at the other end of the table.

“I hope you are hungry. They seemed to have put on a good meal for you.” Jareth said rasing an eyebrow at the nearest chef. “I don’t recall getting anything quite like this just for me.”

Sarah reddened a little and nodded an appreciative thanks in the chefs direction who (was a little pink himself).

“You may eat whenever you wish.” Jareth nodded to her and watched fascinated as she grabbed at almost anything in her reach.

“Juice, m’lady? Coffee maybe?”

“Ohf, Ill Hafe Jucce. Shanks.” Sarah said through a stuffed mouth.

“Apple, Orange, Grape, Fruit Punch, or Pineapple with a twist of peach?”

Sarah swallowed and flashed a smile at Jareth. “Uh, maybe some apple and some of that pineapple peach stuff??” She grinned sheepishly as the servant vacated the room to get her juice.

“I feel a little awkward.”

“They are here to serve, Sarah. That’s what they are trained for.”

Sarah watched as Jareth took a bite of some eggs. He seemed so regal considering what had just happened. Did he not realize what he just did in her bathroom? She felt the bite mark on her neck without thinking.

“You can’t see it that bad.” Jareth said. And even though he was at the other end of the table, Sarah saw the cocky smile he gave her.

Sarah thanked the servant for her juice and took a swig of the apple juice. “Wow, that’s some good apple juice!”

Jareth lifted an eyebrow at her. “Of course. They grow in our enchanted gardens.”

Sarah packed in some pancakes and potatoes. “Uh, can I have some ketchup?”

“For what? There is no meat on the table that requires it.”

“No, for my potatoes.” Sarah said smiling a little like a fool.

Jareth just kind of stared at her for a moment and with a wave of his hand, the servant scuttled to go get it.

“You and your aboveground traditions.”

Sarah ignored the comment and continued to stuff her face. She felt like she hadn’t eaten in days and she was almost stuffed to the gills by the time she had finished. She looked over the table, sure that most of the food would be gone, but the plates were just as full as they were when she entered.

“Wow, I thought I ate a lot. I guess not.”

Jareth laughed a little. “They refill themselves. And yes, you ate like a pig.”

“I did not!” Sarah giggled a little as the king laughed some more.

He liked her laugh. The way she giggled. But, now was not the time for feelings. He had a mission. He needed to get it done. *You already took her innocense. Can’t you let her stay of her own free will? You know she REALLY likes you.* Jareth shook his head at the voice inside him. *I am not going to give this one up. She deserved what I did to her.* *Then why make her suffer even more?*

“Jareth?”

Sarah’s voice rattled his brain. He looked up and instantly fell into her eyes. “Yes, Sarah?”

“You,” she said as she stood up and walked to him, sitting in the chair next to him, “you have some explaining to do.”

Jareth frowned a little as he looked over Sarah’s face. He really was a monster. He really should not have her. *But, you already did something unforgivable to her. Might as well give her the whole package.*

“What do you wish to know?”

Sarah tingled her hands together in anticipation. She had thought this out. She knew what she wanted to know and there was no way he wasn’t going to give her answers.

“First off, was the story in the book really about me?”

Jareth shook his head. “No. The story is about no one impartially. It is written so young girls, like you were, would read it and,” *Fantasize about you, just say it...* “want to come here.”

Sarah nodded, seeming slightly let down. “And you are really a king?”

Jareth scoffed and rolled his eyes. “Of course I am really a king. What do you think I am? A fake?”

“I was just making sure. You don’t have a queen, do you?” Sarah couldn’t believe she asked that. She mentally slapped herself in the face for it.

“No. But, I will be needing to take one soon. I need an heir or I will lose my place in our society.”

Sarah’s thoughts immediately fell on the dream. *A queen... maybe me?*

“And, the dream, in the crystal, when we danced.”

Jareth could feel her getting aroused thinking about it. He had to admit, it was going awesome until she figured out it was a dream. “Was a dream Sarah, nothing more.”

“Oh, right.” Sarah said, sounding defeated. “Ok, and Hoggle and the others?”

“Are living throughout the Labyrinth, just like they were when you went through.”

“And my dreams?” Sarah asked, changing her position so that she was looking Jareth in the eyes. “Would you really have given me all that?”

Jareth paused for a moment. She still didn’t know. She still did not understand how much power she still had over him. He would walk through hell and back for her, but he would never let her know that.

“It is a proposition I make to everyone who runs my Labyrinth.”

Sarah didn’t speak for a moment. Jareth was sure he saw a tear trickle down her cheek.

“And Toby? What about Toby?”

Jareth looked at Sarah. He would have loved to tell her that he threw him off the ledge and killed him. It would break her heart and on any given day, he would love to toy with her emotions. But, something inside of him just couldn’t do it.

“He is home. Safe and sound.”

Sarah gasped and looked at him in disbelief. “I had this horrible dream... and you... you,”

“I know what you saw.” *I made you see it.* “It is not true. That was just some effects from the box.”

“Speaking of the box,” Sarah sat up straight, pushing her newly acquired chest out, “what did it do to me?”

Jareth stood and started pacing. “It aged you. Your body and your mind. I put you in it so when you woke up, you be of age to claim.”

Sarah stood quick as lightning. “You aged me so you could rape me?”

“Yes.” Jareth answered the straight forward truth for once in his life.

Sarah’s face ran through many emotions. Jareth could see the passion in her face fade as she was stung by his words.

“I don’t believe you.” Another tear trickled down her cheek. “You’re a sick bastard, aren’t you? One of those guys that likes the weird shit.”

Jareth watched as Sarah’s barrier broke for just one moment. She really didn’t want to turn him down. He knew that. Which was why he had to do what he did. If she really loved him, she would understand.

“You didn’t seem to mind any of the ‘strange shit’ you speak so harshly speak of.” Jareth pinned her to the spot with a glare. “I do believe your body reacted,” Jareth moved closer to her, “to all the mechanisms I used.”

Sarah swayed her eyes from his and tossed her hair. “So? It doesn’t mean I liked them for real. I am a good actor.”

Jareth laughed a hearty laugh. “You weren’t pretending and you know it. You liked everything I gave you last night and in the bathtub today.”

Sarah avoided his eyes at all costs. “So that’s all I am to you is it? A toy? A plaything? You kept me around because I almost beat you and turned you down, then you rape me? Some high and mighty king you are.”

Jareth grabbed Sarah by her chin. His eyes gleamed with something Sarah couldn’t identify, and whatever it was, it was mixed with anger. “You had better watch your tongue, little girl. I have been generous to you these past days.”

“Oh here we go again.” Sarah rolled her eyes. She couldn’t believe how big headed he was. “Jareth, you don’t even know what it means to be generous.”

“No, my Sarah, you take to many things for granted.” Jareth smiled as he spoke the words. She didn’t think he was generous still? That could easily be changed.

With a shove from his hand holding her chin, he pushed Sarah back and she fell. But not to the floor. She found herself falling onto the mattress in the room she left from before breakfast.

“What are you doing?” She asked him.

Jareth, who was standing in the doorway, smiled and mock bowed to her. “You have been to much of a nuisance. You want to take my generous gifts for granted, so be it!” He turned and slammed the door, making sure to let the lock click nice and loud so Sarah knew she was locked in.

Sarah got up from the bed and ran to the door. “Jareth! What are you doing to me?” She turned and gasped. The room she was standing in was melting away. Her once regal bed was no longer standing, but a pile of straw with a patched up blanket. There was no hallway to the bathroom, just a tub of water in the corner with a cracked and small mirror. And, laying in a woven basket, there lay pieces of cloth with a sewing kit. “I have to make my own clothes??” She walked to the basket and found she only had four pieces of fabric, all the same shabby color of beige.

“Oh... it’s not fair!”

Jareth smiled and laughed to himself as she uttered that line.

“Oh, it is just beginning my love. Just beginning.”
