chapter 4

David had no clue as to what he was doing. He was leading this girl he didn't even know and who didn't know him to his motorcycle. But somehow he couldn't stop himself. He had just saved her from a retched fate. But, he couldn't help but think if he would soon be doing the very thing he saved her from. Killing her.
David and Joey reached his motorcycle within minutes. He got on and then gave her his hand to help her on. He had no idea where he was going to take her. It was too soon to take her to the cave. So, finally he got an idea to take her to the cliff. The same cliff that Michael almost drove himself over. It was his only idea so he drove off.
Joey didn't feel safe with this man...David. He just had that thing about him. That bad look. She knew he could do the same thing he just saved her from, but he was the only one she knew somewhat here. Before she knew it she was on the back of his bike speeding down the boardwalk. They were headed towards the beach it looked like but they wouldn't stop there. They went through some woods too. A lot of woods. Before coming to a complete stop on a cliff. David turned off his bike and slowly got off. He helped Joey off and then he slowly crept over to sit on the edge of the cliff. He closed his eyes and put his face down into his hands. Joey didn't know what to say or what to do. She slowly inched up beside him and sat down.
She leaned over close to his ear, “Thank you.” she whispered.
He turned his head to look at her. “I don't know how a girl of your age could get in so much trouble!” he said, not making any sign of emotion.
“I don't' know. But, what I don't know is how a girl my age seems to always get rescued in one way or another by someone like yourself.”
“Trust me you don't know anybody like me!” he said coldly. “And I wasn't rescuing you!” he added. Trying to convince him self that he wasn't. They fell silent. Joey was searching for some way to break the silence. She hated silence.
“So?” she said hesitantly.
“So...I have to go.” David got up quickly and headed towards his bike.
“Wait. Aren't you going to give me a ride back to the boardwalk?” she said walking towards him.
“Just follow the tracks they'll lead you back into town. You can go from there.”
“But who's going to come to my rescue when I need help along these nasty old tracks?”
“I don't' know. I guess you'll have to figure that one out for yourself. Won't you?” David started up his bike and revved the engine a couple of times before speeding off into the night. Joey hesitantly walked towards the tracks. She looked up ahead of her. She had a long way to go. So she'd better start walking.
Joey had followed the tracks for about 10 minutes when it became very foggy. She wasn't used to fog. But, then again she wasn't used to most of the things in Santa Carla. She kept on walking trying to stick to the tracks best she could. She hated her life. Suddenly she heard someone holler. She turned around to see who it was but when she did they were gone. She turned back around and started walking fast along side the tracks. The hollering kept getting louder and more frequent. Joey was getting really scared now she started running along the tracks. She was running so fast she could barely see where she was going and tripped on a railroad tie. While she was going down she hit her head on something and was knocked unconscious.
It was late. Joey could tell. Her head hurt really bad and her vision was all blurry. Joey reached her hand back and touched the spot on her head that hurt. It sent a sharp pain throughout her body. She pulled her hand away and looked down at it. It had blood on it. She panicked she had never had this happen to her before. Her vision wasn't getting any better either. She then saw her glasses. they were broke. Joey fought back tears and picked then up. She scrambled to her feet the best she could. She could tell where she was but she knew it was no place she had seen before. She took a moment to look around the best she could. Her eye site was just too damaged she couldn't see an exit any where. She panicked even more and started running really fast and bumped into something and fell down again. She heard a laugh. She looked up only to see she hadn't ran into something she had ran into someone.
She scurried away from who ever it was. The man walked towards her closer and closer until Joey was cornered. Joey closed her eyes tight and counted to 10. She opened them again and still couldn't see. But what she did see was the man that had been standing right in front of her. She looked around.

“Your very pretty.” the man whispered in her ear. She turned around only to see that the man had gone again.

“I agree with you on that one Pauly.” another man said. Joey was frantic to find a way out.Things like this did not happen to good girls like her.

“Awe come on guys your scaring her.” another one said.

“We're just trying to having little fun Dwayne.” they all laughed. Joey had no other choice but to let out a terrifying scream.

Joey woke herself up abruptly by her screaming. Joey sat strait up in her sleeping bag. She took her hand and reached to the back of her head again. The pain shot through her head again. The fall really did happen. But what else had actually happened?
