chapter 4
"Feeling better, Cowboy?" Racetrack asked the next morning as Jack met them in front of the bunkroom.
"A little," said Jack. He peered over Race’s shoulder and saw Briar and Lit’l Bit talking by their bunk. He walked over to them and tapped Briar on the shoulder.
"Could you come over here for a sec?" he asked cocking his head towards an empty corner.
Briar frowned at him. "Actually…"
"Great!" he took her arm and led her away.
"Would you stop with the games already!" hissed Jack once they were alone.
"Somebody’s had way too much to drink last night," sneered Briar.
"Because of you!" snapped Jack. "Then you come into the sickroom and…"
"Whoa! Whoa! Whoa!" Briar held up her hands. "I wasn’t anywhere near the sickroom last night."
Jack laughed disbelieving. "Yeah, right. You’re a pretty good liar."
"Especially when I have nothing to lie about," said Briar pointedly.
"Here we go again." Jack sighed. "You, me, in the bed, sickroom, last night, you wanted to be on top!"
"You’re sick. Get help. I’m leaving." Briar turned and walked out of the Lodging House muttering under her breath. She didn’t notice Lit’l Bit pressed up against the wall next to the bunkroom door.
Lit’l Bit took a deep breath and stepped inside. Jack was leaning against the bunk with his eyes closed.
"You two are loud enough to wake the dead."
Jack opened his eyes and grinned at Lit’l Bit. "Hey."
"What was that about?" she asked him sitting down on the bed and motioning for him to do the same.
"Long story," said Jack.
"Does it have anything to do with what happened in the sickroom last night?" Lit’l Bit commented casually.
"Did Briar tell you anything?" asked Jack.
"It wasn’t Briar, she was telling the truth. It was me."
Jack watched her face; her cheeks flushed a bright red color. “I didn’t see it coming, I’ll tell you that,” he said.
“I feel like such an idiot,” admitted Lit’l Bit. “But, the truth is, I like you, Jack. I really like you. I just didn’t know if you’d feel the same way. I should go now.”
“Wait.” Jack jumped up and held her arm. “I’ve always liked you, too.”
“You did?”
“I did.”
Lit’l Bit looked at him cynically. “What about Briar?”
Jack shook his head grinning. “I don’t think she likes me very much.”
Lit’l Bit laughed quietly. “So, now what?”
Jack ran his fingers through his hair. “How bout we go out sometime? Maybe you could meet me at Tibby’s for lunch?”
“I’d like that,” said Lit’l Bit smiling. “Okay, then, I’ll see you later.”
"Everything okay?" Briar came into the bunkroom suddenly, causing Jack and Lit’l Bit to jump startled.
"Yeah, just talking to Jack," said Lit’l Bit. "Sorry to keep you waiting. We can go now."
"You actually had a conversation with him that lasted more than seven minutes?" gasped Briar, faking astonishment. "That’s news."
"Ha ha ha," said Jack tonelessly. "Very funny." He brushed past them and out the door, giving Lit’l Bit a private wink.
"I don’t know what you see in him.” Briar shook her head. "What’re we doing today?" she linked arms with Lit’l Bit and they headed out of the Lodging House. "Brooklyn? I could use a change of scenery."
Lit’l Bit pulled a face. "No way! I don’t feel like running into Spot."
Briar frowned. "I thought you liked him," she said.
"I did until we got into a fight last week," replied Lit’l Bit.
"Okay, so Brooklyn is out of the question."
"How bout Medda’s?" suggested Lit’l Bit.
"She’s got the flu and sounds like a dying cow," said Briar.
Lit’l Bit laughed. "So it’s back to Tibby’s I guess."
"Why don’t you come with us?" Came a voice from behind them.
The girls turned around and saw Kid Blink and Mush walking nearby.
"Do you always eavesdrop on people’s conversations?" asked Lit’l Bit smiling at Mush.
"Where are you going?" asked Briar walking next to Blink.
"The Four Diamonds," said Blink.
"What did you say?" Mush turned to Lit’l Bit with a grin.
"Sure, I guess," she answered him with a shrug.
"Great. We’ll see you in front of the Lodging House at seven," said Blink.
Mush and Blink met up with them a little after seven, each boy had a blindfold in his hand.
"Hey guys!" greeted Lit’l Bit.
Briar noticed the blindfolds and arched her eyebrow at Blink. "What’s with those?" she asked.
"It’s a surprise," smirked Blink tying it around her eyes while Mush did the same with Lit’l Bit.
It took them about 15 minutes to get to the Four Diamonds. Mush and Blink waited till they were inside before taking off the girls’ blindfolds.
"Finally!" sighed Briar patting her hair down.
"What’s the surprise?" asked Lit’l Bit. She coughed slightly because the air was thick with alcohol and smoke.
"Mush, why don’t we get the girls a couple of drinks?" said Blink and he dragged his friend off to the bar.
"What’re those two up to?" wondered Lit’l Bit.
"And are we going to like it?" asked Briar.
The boys had come back and handed Briar and Lit’l Bit small glasses filled with blood red liquid. Briar wrinkled her nose at her glass.
"What the hell is this stuff?"
"Just try it," said Blink raising the glass to her mouth.
She looked at Lit’l Bit and shrugged, then downed the whole thing in one gulp.
"AH! That was foul! Blink what the hell was that?" she yelled.
"I hope you didn’t get me the same," Lit’l Bit told Mush looking down at her own glass.
Mush shrugged. "Try it."
She took a deep breath and pinched her nose before bringing the glass to her lips. "No way!" Mush laughed and pulled her hand down.
She groaned and closed her eyes instead. She swallowed and opened her eyes. "That wasn’t so bad... AH!" she cried and made a face. "Shit!" she cursed and stuck out her tongue.
"Strong enough for you?" laughed Blink.
"I’d like to see you drink it smart ass!" snapped Lit’l Bit.
"I’m not crazy enough to do that!" said Blink. "Want another shot, Briar?"
"No thank you!" said Briar laughing.
Lit’l Bit put a hand on her forehead and groaned. "I don’t feel so good."
"You don’t drink do you?" said Mush worriedly. He put a hand around her to keep her from falling backwards.
"No," she hiccuped.
"Maybe you should get her out of here," said Blink watching Lit’l Bit.
"I’ll go with you," said Briar.
"No, it’s okay, I got her." Mush put her arm over his shoulder and helped her get to the backroom, kicking the door open then locking it behind them.
"Is she gonna be okay?" asked Briar.
"Yeah, don’t worry about it. That was some pretty strong liquor, " said Blink. "So, you want to try that drink again?" she smirked. "Unless you think you can’t handle it..."
“No way! I am not drinking that swill again!” Briar laughed. “Is this where you guys disappear every night?”
“Sometimes,” Blink admitted.
Briar crossed her arms in front of her chest and looked around. “My dad used to own a place like this. He used let me sit on the bar and help him mix drinks.”
Just then, a dagger came whizzing through the air, narrowly missing Blink’s head as he leaned to the side.
“What the hell was that?” yelled Briar.
Blink stared at the dagger that had struck the wall. “Looks like someone’s starting a fight. We’d better get out of here before things get ugly.” He grabbed Briar’s wrist and pulled her behind him towards the door.
“What about Lit’l Bit and Mush?” asked Briar.
“They’ll be fine as long as they stay in the backroom,” said Blink. “The police will be here in a few minutes, anyway.”
Outside, they rounded a corner and ducked into the alley right by the Four Diamonds. “Sorry about that,” said Blink. “This isn’t exactly the fun you were looking for.”
"I’ve got no problem with a little excitement.”
Blink lit a cigarette and started smoking it. “I promise I’ll make it up to you next week. Anywhere you want to go.”
Briar looked over at him. “Anywhere?”
Blink waved his hand. “Anywhere.”
“How bout if I wanted to go dancing?”
“Dancing? That I can take care of now.” Blink stood up and threw down his smoke.
Briar laughed. “What? Now?”
“Yeah. Now.” He wrapped his arms around her waist, a little awkwardly at first but then he relaxed. Briar could feel herself blushing as she rested her head on his shoulder. They swayed in place for a while, then Blink stopped and looked down at Briar. He brought his head down and tightened his arms around her waist, parting his lips to cover her own.
Briar sighed and kissed him back. She moved her mouth to kiss down his neck, laying her lips between his neck and shoulder flicking her tongue over the skin that tasted of sweat. She unbuttoned his shirt and helped him get out of it and it fell to the ground. Blink shivered and backed away from her. "Not here," he whispered. He took her hand and found a dark, secluded corner in the very end of the alley, completely hidden by shadows.
He put his fingers through Briar’s hair and brought her lips to his, his tongue entwining with hers. She rested her head against the cold wall behind her as he unbuttoned her shirt. His hands were cold against her waist and she shivered involuntarily.
Briar straightened up and turned Blink around so he was against the wall. She started kissing him again while her hand slid down to the front of his pants. He bit down on her lip as she stroked his erection, squeezing gently. She pumped her hand up and down till he was moaning into her mouth, thrusting into her palm. The desire building up inside him was too much and he grabbed Briar’s hand and spun her around, kissing her frantically.
Keeping their lips locked they both stepped out of their pants and Blink pinned Briar against the wall, getting her legs around his waist. She could feel his cock against her thigh and knew she was wet for him. A scream escaped her lips as he entered her and she wrapped her legs tighter around his midsection. Blink groaned and thrust into her, suddenly his relief was more important than her comfort and he pumped in and out hard. Briar’s body shook with pleasure and she was panting and sweating despite the cold air. Blink pressed his mouth firmly on top of hers to silence her cries and moved faster, harder, barely able to contain his own moans.
Briar’s nails dug into his back as he thrust into her, his sweat slicked chest rocking against hers. A loud cry escaped his throat as he came, filling her completely with his warm cum. He fell against her and caught his breath, he could feel her chest rising and falling heavily too.
"Are you alright?" he whispered.
Briar nodded, too tired to say anything. He let her straighten up and they got their clothes on.
"Let’s go home,” said Blink.
She rested her head on his shoulder and let him lead her back to the Lodging House.
Back inside, Lit’l Bit was sitting with her head in her hands while Mush paced in front of her.
"Stop that! You’re making me dizzy!" she yelled.
"Are you sure you’re alright?" asked Mush kneeling down next to her.
"Yeah, I’m fine. That tasted awful! What was it?" she lifted her head and giggled.
"Whatever it was, it didn’t take much of it to get you drunk," said Mush.
"Don’t be ridiculous," said Lit’l Bit blowing a strand of hair out of her eyes. "I wonder where Blink and Briar are?"
"They’re around," said Mush watching the door. "Listen, I’m sorry about making you drink that stuff. I had no idea it was your first time. Lit’l Bit?"
He turned around and saw her lying on the floor again. "No, no! You can’t fall asleep!" he got down on his knees and put her head in his lap. "Lit’l Bit? Come on. Wake up!" he shook her lightly and she opened her eyes and stared up at him.
"Hi," he grinned at her.
He brought his hand up to the side of her face and pushed her hair back. Their gaze was locked sending an electric current between the two. Mush leaned over her and kissed her. Slow at first then the passion grew. He nibbled gently on her lips and grazed his tongue over her teeth causing her to sigh contentedly.
Lit’l Bit sat up and took his face in her hands, eyeing his features then closing the distance and bringing him into a searing kiss. She straddled his lap and slid her hands underneath his shirt feeling his muscular chest. Mush felt himself grow harder from the pressure on his lap and he unbuttoned her shirt.
He moved his mouth over her collarbone, flicking his tongue over the curves of her shoulders, before taking her breast in his mouth and sucking it gently. Lit’l Bit tangled her fingers in his dark curls pulling him closer. She could feel his erection beneath her and knew she wanted him inside her now.
She pulled away from the kiss and they stood up and got the rest of their clothes off. Mush pulled himself on top of Lit’l Bit, his groin aching with need. He slid into her slowly at first then slammed his huge cock into her causing her to scream. She held onto his shoulders as he fucked her hard and deep, their hips moving in sync and both were moaning with pleasure. Lit’l Bit took his face in her hands and trailed wet kisses over his mouth, sucking gently at his jaw line. She grabbed his hips and forced them down hard. Mush threw his head back as another wave of pleasure went through him.
She felt her orgasm building and dug her nails into his shoulders. He moaned as his cum spilled into her. He continued thrusting till all his cum was in her. Still breathing heavily, he pulled out and lay next to her. Lit’l Bit closed her eyes and put her hand on his warm chest.
"A little," said Jack. He peered over Race’s shoulder and saw Briar and Lit’l Bit talking by their bunk. He walked over to them and tapped Briar on the shoulder.
