Hynaptura

Chapter Three:

'When the road gets dark,
and you can no longer see.
Just let my love grow a spark,
and have a little faith in me'

- 'Have a little faith in me' By John Hiatt

Jack stood still.

'Amazing...' He said to himself, completely in awe of his surroundings.

The whole room was smokey with incense.
Brightly coloured sachets of silk material hung from the ceiling, and upon the floor were rather large cushions spread about, in the same colours as the silk material on the ceiling.

As jack entered the room, stopping when he got into the middle, he realised he had drawn attention to himself.

The whole room was looking at him.

Rather large men with turbans and big black beards staring at him strangely.
Obviously they had never seen anyone of his culture before.

Oddly enough, there were many women in here too.
Walking around in sahri's, which were also brightly coloured.
Their perfect dark brown hair and their sultry tanned skin making this all the more appealing to the Pirate.

Suddenly someone was removing his coat.
When Jack turned to see whom it was, he was met with a radiant smile.

"May i take your coat?" The pretty woman in the pink shari asked him politely.

Jack nodded, smiling at her widely.

The woman took one look at his teeth and shied away from Jack.
He stopped smiling and shut his mouth.

Obviously dental hygien was important around here.

"How may I help you?" Asked a voice from the side of him.

Jack turned and found a rather large man standing next to him, naked from the waist up.

Jack took in the man's clothes questioningly.
White turban on his head, and white baggy pants with funny looking pointy flats on his feet.

"I'm looking for something" Jack told him, deciding not to make eye contact.

The man smiled. "Something pretty, i take it?"

Jack shrugged. "I'm not fussed on what it looks like, aslong as i can find it"

The Indian man bowed. "I am Arafat"

"Jack" The Pirate told him, bowing also. " Captain Jack Sparrow."

Arafat invited Jack over to a small corner in the building, covered by those silk sachets and many large cushions.

Jack could have gotten used to this.

"This is my Kautilya" The man told jack, looking very proud of himself.

Jack pretended he knew what one of those was.

"Its very pretty" Jack told him, looking around and admiring the view aswell as the women walking around.

Arafat chuckled.

"I take it you are not of Indian heritage?" He asked curiously.

Jack smiled. "What gave it away?"

"Your sword"

Jack smirked.

"So, what kind of business do you run here?" Jack asked him, trying to make conversation.
All the while he kept a look out for anything that could notify him as to what he was supposed to be in here for.

Arafat looked at him strangely. "I thought that would have been simple for you to see?"

Jack looked at him curiously.

"A Kautilya is a place where Indian men come to indulge in the pleasures of the flesh" Arafat told him smoothly. "They do not get hassle off the women within this building, they only get pleasure."

Jacks eyes widened in realisation.

'Well bugger me backwards...its a whore house!' He thought to himself with a smile.

Now he knew why there were so many women around looking half naked.

"I take it you are impressed?" Arafat asked with a smirk.

"Very" Jack said, looking around more curiously now than he was before.

"So what can i do for you? Are you a legs or a bum man?" The Indian asked, laughter etching his voice.

"Either" Jack told him, not really realising what he was saying.
He was too busy looking interestingly into the little cove covered by yellow silk curtains.

Something was in there.

"We have both here. Anything to suit your needs" Arafat told him, sitting back on the cushion and taking a handful of grapes with him.

"Where does that lead to?" Jack asked, pointing to the yellow curtains.

There was something in there that he was looking for, he was sure of it.

Arafat smirked.
Inside that room was his greatest posession.

"It is the only woman within this Kautilya that will not be touched by any man"

Jack looked at the Indian. Curiosity had deffinately taken over his senses now.

"How so?" Jack asked.

"She came to us through a Captain of your own heritage." Arafat told the Pirate, sitting up and telling the story. "He came here with not a penny to his name. Only the woman in question was what he had left"

"So how did she end up here?"

"The Captain sold her to me for a reasonable price. He needed money, and i could not resist this woman. She had radiant beauty like nothing i have ever seen, and she held something within her that caused men to go weak at the knees as soon as they looked at her" Arafat seemed entraced just by talking about her.

"Then why is she not out here for everyone else to see her beauty?" Jack asked the man, staring at him questioningly.

Arafat glared for a moment. "She is known as the 'Hynaptura'...she is the untouched one. No man may go near her...not even me"

"Why?" Jack seemed to be soaked into this story now.

He knew that whatever was behind that curtain was something that he was meant to find here.

"Many call her a witch" Arafat told him simply. "Any man who tries to touch her intimitely feels a great deal of pain...a pain that stays with him forever"

"Have you felt this pain?" Jack asked.

"Yes" Arafat told him. "It is the pain of falling in love and never having it returned. That is the worst pain of all"

Jack snorted. This man had obviously never actually felt pain.

"May i see her?" Jack asked the man.

Arafat looked at him curiously. This man was not someone who was foolish, he held wisdom and probably many other things within his mind that Arafat himself would never be able to comprehend.

"Ofcourse" He said with a nod.

Both men stood.

Arafat allowed Jack to step forward and head towards the yellow silk curtains.
The closer he got, the stronger his instinct became...he was close to finding what he was looking for.

As he approached the curtain, he saw two guards standing there.
Obviously this woman was either very sacred to Arafat, or she was one moody bitch who was likely to lash out at the nearest sign of a man entering her chamber.

The guards moved to the side as Jack and Arafat entered.

The room was gold from top to bottom, with luscious smells and a door at the other end that lead to a balcony.

Jack could see a figure standing there at the balcony through the golden drapes that covered the windows.

Jack could see why every man fell at her feet.
From the back of her he could see her golden-brown flowing curly hair, and a tender figure that gave her all the right curves in all the right places.

The woman wore a sahri made of ocean blue silk, and the colour suited her wonderfully.

"Hynaptura!" Arafat shouted.

The girl turned around, startled.

Jack could not make out the face properly, but from this distance he could already tell that she was stunning.

"Please stop calling me that, Arafat." The woman said sounding very pissed off. "It makes me feel like I am your slave"

That voice...that was an English voice...

"I have brought someone to view you" Arafat shouted back to her.

Her voice seemed to grow more impatient. "I will not be viewed by anyone! You cannot force me to be looked at by a pervert who obviously cannot get a woman of his own!"

That voice...that familiar voice.

"You WILL come in here now! This man has asked to view you, and you WILL be viewed!" Arafat shouted back, getting just as angry as she was.

The woman had balls, Jack knew that much.

"And why?!" She asked furiously, coming closer to the door. "Why should I be viewed?! I get nothing from you!" She was inches from the door now, coming through the drapes in a foul temper.

"You get this room from me!" Arafat responded.

She stepped through the silk drapes in a temper, stomping onto the stone floor, her face flushed with anger.

Jack felt the lead drop into his stomach.

"I don't want this bloody room!!" She screamed. "I want to be free! I tell you this every day and yet-"

The woman looked at Jack in complete and utter shock.

Jack looked at the woman in complete and utter shock.

They both stared at eachother in silence.

So this was what he was supposed to find inside this building....

Elizabeth Turner.
