Dead on the Water
A-N - Thanks for the reviews once again. Still trying to figure out how this story is going to end and all cuz my muse is being tight-lipped about it lol. Hope you enjoy.

The next day the sea was still and calm, with not even a slight puff of air to fill out the sails of the Black Pearl. Without the wind, the ship was pretty much dead in the water. Everyone was tense, especially Tia Dalma who had spend the majority of the morning casting her bag of runes and bones on the top of a barrel.
"Iffen we do not get out of dese waters soon, I fear we be stuck here for eternity," Tia said grimly after consulting her bones for at least the fifth time that morning.
"Thanks so much for giving me a time limit, Tia darlin'" Jack grumbled while looking through his spy glass to see any sign of land or another ship. No such luck of course. Tia clasped her bones in her hand, whispering to them before casting them once again.
"Somethin be holding us back from de land of de livin'" She remarked, moving a crab claw a bit with the tip of her finger.
"And what could that possibly be?" Barbossa muttered as he fiddled around with Jack the monkey.
"Not sure, could be fear, could be anger. Most likely...tis the weight of a guilty heart that be keeping de Pearl from moving ahead," Tia looked pointedly at Jack who pretended to be brushing off lint from his jacket.
"Me? Guilty heart? I don't think so, Tia," Jack said, feigning interest in the wheel of the Pearl.
"Not sayin it be you, wicked Jack. Sayin it could be anyone on board," Tia remarked while gathering her runes and bones back into the leather pouch that hung from her belt.
"Now, who could it be on this very ship that be having a guilty heart...Hmmmm, I wonder," Barbossa remarked sarcastically while arching an eyebrow at Jack.
"No bloody clue mate," Jack sniffed, rolling his eyes.
"Jack, you be lying to yourself. You know it's that blasted girl," Barbossa said. "Talk to her!".
"Ms. Swann has nothing to say that I want to be hearing. She can cry her bloody eyes out and I wouldn't bat an eyelash nor offer her a hanky to blow snot into!" Jack responded angrily.
"And that be what tis holding us back," Tia said calmly. "Both of you need to be talking and working dis out."
"What is there to talk about?!" Jack exclaimed, pacing around the wheel of the Pearl, much like he did every time he was vexed. "She bloody chained me to the mast of my own bloody ship and left me to be eaten by the Kraken! Case closed!"
"Did she say how she truly feel about doin it?" Tia asked, putting her hands on her hips, while watching Jack pace away.
"She...may have mentioned about being sorry..I don't recall, I was soused," Jack said lamely, unable to look Tia in the eye.
"Iffen she be truly sorry, and iffen you blew her off, den tis both of you dat be keeping the Pearl here. You two need ta talk," Tia said firmly, grabbing Jack by the ear and leading him to his quarters, him protesting the entire way. She pushed him firmly into the cabin. "You wait here, I fetch Ms. Swann, and you two will talk," she said, pointing a finger at him. "And you two will not be coming out until de Pearl has some wind in her sails."
"But..but," Jack began before Tia shut the door firmly. He tried to open it, and it wouldn't budge. "Bugger," he grumbled.
About five minutes later, the door opened and a protesting Elizabeth was pushed inside, with the door slamming shut behind her. She tried to open the door, with no success.
"Won't do any good love...we are stuck here until we 'talk'," Jack said while searching in his desk for a bottle of rum. "BUGGER!!...me last bottle is gone!" Jack groaned while pinching the bridge of his nose. He had a feeling it was going to be a looooooong day.
A-N - Evil cliff hanger, but i couldn't help it! lol
