Stink
Im so so so sorry for the time between uploads! :( please read this and enjoy. it would be super cool if you rated this and reviewed this.... anyway thank you for reading :P
Coming from an aristocratic background she knew physical labor would not come easy to her,but never in her wildest dreams did she think it would be this hard. Everything hurt, and muscles she didn't even know she had burned with exertion. And god did she stink to high heaven. And to top it all off she was being escorted to the captains cabin by Gibbs. She couldn't help but feel self conscious about her stink as the captain waved her in to sit down."Hello lad, Gibbs here tells me you did well today."
"I tried my best sir."
"Well your best is very good, I had a chance to look at those sails and im very pleased with your work, the deck isn't as clean as I like but you'll get better."
"Thank you sir, may I please go now? Im very tired.."
"Have you had dinner yet boy?"
"No sir."
"Then you shall eat with me, and enough with calling me sir, your making me feel like im as old as Gibbs, call me jack or captain."
"Yes... Captain." He smiled at her then popped out of the room for a moment before walking back in. She arched her brow in confusion.
"I was telling the cook to bring an extra plate in here. I was going to have him give you what he's giving everyone else but because you did so well I feel like you deserve a good plate of food.
Her stomachs grumbled as he said that. She had had the misfortune of eating a lunch that consisted of flavorless dried fish and oatmeal, those two hardly went together she thought, but none the less she hungry and ate as much as she could, and needless to say she was still very hungry.
The captain was looking through a stack of papers when the food came.
The smell of some sort of beef broth made her mouth water and her stomach groan in anticipation. The man boy who she had recently learned was named Toby handed her her bowl of beef stew and smiled at her. Much like her, Toby he was new aboard and didn't seem to have one particular job just what ever Gibbs told him to do, so they had what seemed like an unspoken friendship.
"Eat up." He said with a smile which she returned with a well versed thank you.
As he left the captain looked up from his papers to stare straight at her.
"You have awfully good manners for someone who's supposed to be a pirate, are you sure im not harboring some dukes son or some sort or heir to something." He squinted at her and for a second time since meeting him she was sure she had been found out. What would he do if he did indeed realize she was a woman and not a man? Would he throw her aboard? Or even worse would he sail her back to her father... Clearing her throat heavily she opened her mouth to speak.
"Do my mannerisms bother you captain?"
"Not particularly but it did get me thinking. I have enough things im wanted for I don't really want to add kidnapping to that."
"Even if I was an heir, which I am not, im eighteen, that means im a grown man and I can leave a place whenever I want." After a moment she thought it best to add "captain" to the end of that as not to upset him. Technically she was an heiress so it wasn't lying she added internally.
"Well I guess I can't agrue with that." After he said that they ate in relative silence that was only occasionally interrupted by the captains curses over something on the map he was reading. When they had finished she got up.
"I think I best be going now, would you like for me to take your bowl?
"Yes please." He said not even bothering to look up at her. She shuffled off near the door and was about to open it until he shouted "AH HA!"
SHe turned around and looked at him quizzically.
"I need to speak with Gibbs about something." he hurriedly got up and met her by the door. He sniffed at the air.
"You may not speak like a pirate but you so smell an awful lot like one." he laughed loudly as he strutted onto the deck leaving her standing in his doorway bright faced with her hands full of bowls.
