Though I have borrowed the names of some of the characters, and some spells from Charmed, this is mostly my own creation, my own idea, and i make no profit from it.
Unveiled Prank
Back at home, food and three cokes later, I’d just settled in my chair when my cell phone rang. I frowned and looked at the unfamiliar number. Everyone who might be calling was in the room. “Hello?”
“Cherish? Sorry if I’m bothering you.”
I frowned harder, trying to place the voice. “Not at all.”
“Good, I’m in the area and I have your cloak from Halloween and I‘d thought I‘d bring it over.” Duh!
“Sure Molly, that’s great. Did you talk with your parents about Thanksgiving?”
“Yeah. They’d um…we, yes. We’d love to come.”
“Come on over then, the gate’s open.”
Five minutes later I was answering the door, with Dax right behind me. Druex and the other’s were shifting in the guest room and getting re-dressed. I smiled at her and She smiled back, but faltered when she saw Dax. Her lips pressed together and she looked at me and said a bit breathlessly. “Did you throw Druex over already?” I shook my head. “No, this is his Cousin. Dax. Dax this is Molly.” He seemed to just be frozen in place and didn’t say a word, Molly was, surprisingly, not shy at all. “You definitely look like you could be an asshole. But I don’t know if I’d go about advertising you have a small penis.”
I lifted the bit of the spell so Dax could read the letters and was leaning on the door laughing. Dax ground his teeth at me. “I’m going to tell Druex to spank you. Hard.” He growled and his face was on fire as he looked back down at Molly, he towered over her slender frame, if he wanted to, he could have probably ripped her in half. “I’m only an asshole most of the time.” he said and shook her hand, very gently. “And I do not,” He glared at me. “Have a small penis. Cherish thought it would be funny to play a joke on me.” I patted his arm. “Maybe next time you’ll think twice before eavesdropping.”
I took Molly’s elbow and drew her into the house. “Come in for a while, do you have time?” She nodded and looked around at my house. Rather opulent. “I need some estrogen, had a busy morning. My whole family, and Druex’s is here for the holiday. I’m about to drown in all the testosterone.” Molly’s lips curved. “I work at the Spa, I‘d be glad to give you a facial, no testosterone in the whole building.” I smiled slowly at the idea. “What time and I‘ll be there.”
“Because you’re going where?” Druex, the twins, and Daire all appeared out of the guest room, no tails. “Spa.” His brows shot up. “The…spa.” He said slowly and I nodded, leading Molly through them easily.
“I didn’t know you were a Esthetician.” Molly blushed and tucked her hair behind her ear. “I left school, you know, after. And I had to do something.” I grinned at her. “Good for you.” I looked back over my shoulder and frowned at how closely Druex and Dax were following us. I jerked my head for them to get lost. Dax stopped in the hallway and crossed his arms. Druex mimicked him. Not leaving. Right.
I rolled my eyes. “So, if I wanted to have my eyebrows waxed and all,” I gave Molly a speaking look and cast my eyes down and then up. She nodded studiously. “I could do that. Or Cheri. She’s a magician with eyebrows.” I winked at her. “So then baring a crisis. Ten sound good?” Molly nodded and flicked Dax a little look. “Just fine. Is there a reason why he’s staring at me?” She whispered, moving a little bit closer to me, I think Dax was making her nervous. “He’s a bodyguard at heart. It’s kind of his nature to look intimidating.” I patted her hand on my arm and whispered, knowing Dax could hear. “But usually he’s really just a big puppy.” Riley and Tristan came around the corner and both of them smiled at Molly in welcome. “So I’ll see you in the morning?”
I heard the nervousness, scented it on Molly and took pity, taking her through a sitting room and back to the front door. “Sure, thanks Molly, for bringing this back to me.” She nodded, cast one more, uncertain look at Dax and walked to her car. I had the feeling she wanted to run. “Nice job Dax, scare the poor thing to death.” I drawled as I passed him, tweaking the spell to read, ’I scare little girls. And I like it.’
“I didn’t mean to. She’s a friend of yours?” I looked at him, six feet and change, looking out the open door after Molly’s disappearing car. I blinked and turned to lift my brows at Druex. He just smiled softly and shook his head. “Yes.”
