Sparrow grinned, revleing in happy nostalgia, and looked to me for a rection.
"It's quite a tale, Mr. Sparrow, but-"
"Please. Jack. Call me Jack."
"Well, Jack, I still don't what any of this has to do with me. Where does this all tie together?"
"I'm not yet finished. Where was I? Ah, yes, I remember. That day is one of my happiest memories still. We returned from the new island shortly before my father returned, and I carefully crept into my room through my secret entry and fixed it so that you couldn't tell I'd ever left. When my father beat me that night, I hardly felt it. Over the following year, I was happier than I had been since my mother died. Bill Turner quickly became my best friend, and his father James, the only real father I'd ever known. We were together every day, the three of us, and grew to love one another unconditionally. James helped me through everything; there was nothing I couldn't tell him, and I couldn't imagine life without my new father. Which is why it came as such an immense blow to me when he was murdered.
